Intraoperative pancreas stump perfusion assessment during pancreaticoduodenectomy:A systematic scoping review

Effect of Seasonal Variations and Weather Factors on Population Dynamics of mango mealybug (Drosicha mangiferae) in Bangladesh

An experiment was conducted in mango orchard of Sher-E Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) campus, Dhaka to determine the effect of seasonal variation round the year and weather on population dynamics of mango mealybug (Drosicha mangiferae) on mango tree. The mango mealybug was first appeared in early December and disappeared in June in a year. Its population started to increase gradually from December and continued up to February when the ambient average temperature was 20.95°C, relative humidity 63% and rainfall was absent. The highest population of the insect (33.33/30 cm branch) was recorded in February and the lowest (3.75/30cm branch) in may. Adult insects appeared in February on the ground under the selected mango tree showing the population of 6.67 males and 123.33 females per 81 m2. Population of males (32.5/81m2) and that of females (352.75/81m2) reached to the peak when the ambient temperature was 28.19°C, relative humidity 61% and the rainfall was 0.00 mm. When relative humidity was high and rainfall started adult females enter into the soil and disappeared. Correlation between population of mealybug and temperature was positive. Its population was negatively correlated with relative humidity and rainfall.

Critical Finite Size Scaling Relation of the Order-Parameter Probability Distribution for the Three-Dimensional Ising model on the Creutz Cellular Automaton

We study the order parameter probability distribution at the critical point for the three-dimensional spin-1/2 and spin-1 Ising models on the simple cubic lattice under periodic boundary conditions. The finite size scaling relation for the order parameter probability distribution is tested and verified numerically by microcanonical Creutz cellular automata simulations. The state critical exponent δ, which characterizes the far tail regime of the scaling order parameter probability distribution, is estimated for three-dimensional Ising models using the cellular automaton simulations at the critical temperature. The results are in good agreement with the monte Carlo calculations.

Structural and dielectric properties of doped ferrite nanomaterials suitable for microwave and biomedical applications

The sol-gel auto-combustion method was adopted to synthesize nanomaterials of single-phase X-type hexagonal ferrites with the composition of Sr;Gd;Ni;Fe;Cd;O;（x=0.00,0.02,0.04,0.06,0.08,0.10 and y = 0,0.1,0.2,0.3,0.4,0.5）.The structural properties were carried out by XRD analysis and the lattice parameters show variation with the doping of *** average particle size measured by TEm was in the range of 8-10 nm which is beneficial in obtaining suitable signal-to-noise ratio in recording media and biomedical *** room temperature resistivity enhanced with the increase of the dopant *** increase in resistivity indicates that the synthesized materials can be considered good for the formation of the multilayer chip inductors（mLCIs） as well as for the reduction of eddy current *** dielectric constant decreased with the increase in the frequency which is the general reported trend of the hexagonal ferrites and can be explained on the basis of Koop’s theory and maxwell-Wagner *** abnormal dielectric behavior indicates the formation of small polarons in the *** maximum value of tangent loss at low frequencies reflects the application of these materials in medium frequency devices（mF）.

Expulsion characterization in resistance spot welding by means of a hardness mapping technique

Expulsion is an undesired event during resistance spot welding because the weld quality deteriorates. It is the ejection of molten metal from the weld nugget which usually occurs due to applying a high current for a short welding time. Expulsion has a significant impact on the final yield strength of the weld, thus the detection and characterization of expulsion events is significant for the quality assurance of resistance spot welds. In this study, hardness mapping, using a scanning hardness machine, was used as a quality assurance technique for re- sistance spot welding. Hardness tests were conducted on a resistance spot welded sample to prepare a hardness map. The test results showed good correlation between the hardness map and metallographic cross sections. The technique also provided further fundamental understand- ing of the resistance spot welding process, especially regarding the occurrence of expulsion in the nugget.

Can mouse models mimic sporadic Alzheimer’s disease?

Alzheimer’s disease(AD)is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder and the most common form of dementia *** age is the main risk factor,>97%of all AD cases are of sporadic origin,potentiated by various risk factors associated with life style and starting at an age>60 ***mutations in the amyloid precursor protein or Presenilins 1 or 2,and symptoms already start at an agemouse models are *** far many transgenic mouse models have been developed and used,with mutations in the APP or presenilin or combinations(3×Tg,5×Tg).However,such transgenic mouse models more likely mimic the genetic form of AD and no information can be given how sporadic forms *** risk genes,such as Apolipoprotein E4 and TREm-2 enhance the risk of sporadic AD,but also many risk factors associated with life style(e.g.,diabetes,hypercholesterolemia,stress)may play a *** this review we discuss the current situation regarding AD mouse models,and the problems to develop a sporadic mouse model of AD.

Sterilization of Cotton Fabrics Using Plasma Treatment

microbial contamination induces surface deformations and strength degradation of cotton fabrics by invading deeply into the fibers. In this study, the sterilization effects of low pressure plasmas on bacteria-inoculated cotton fabrics were investigated. Oxygen plasma treatment completely sterilized the cotton fabrics inoculated with various concentrations of staphylococcus aureus. Also, the influence of plasma treatment on physical properties of fabrics was examined. It was found that the plasma treatment did not affect ultimate tensile strength and surface morphology of the fabrics because it took advantage of relatively low plasma temperature.
