AIm： The goal of the current work was to analyse the prevalence of the ＋49A/G variant of the cytotoxic T-lymphocyte antigen 4 gene （CTLA4） in Hungarian patients with Crohn＇s disease （CD） and ulcerative colitis （UC）. mETHODS： A total of 130 unrelated subjects with CD and 150 with UC, and 170 matched controls were genotyped for the single nucleotide polymorphism （SNP）. The genotypes were determined by using PCR/RFLP test. RESULTS： The G allele frequency and the prevalence of the GG genotype were 38.1% and 12.3% in the CD group, 40.6% and 18.6% in the UC patients, and 37.4% and 15.9% in the control group, respectively. CONCLUSION： The results of the current study show that carriage of the ＋49G SNP in heterozygous or in homozygous form does not confer risk either for CD or for UC in the Hungarian population.

This work aimed at analyzing the petroleum adsorption capacity and the compressive strength of cellulose cryogels produced with the addition of 4 and 8%(w/w)sodium hydroxide(NaOH).Cryogels were produced from a 1.5%(m/m)suspension of cellulose microfibers,which originated from Pinus elliotti,in distilled *** addition of NaOH increased the compression strength of cryogel by 30% when compared to cryogel without the *** to the 50% decrease in volume,the cryogel FLNB-8h(8%NaOH)has its petroleum adsorption capacity decreased in average by 58%,whereas the FLNB-4(4%NaOH)cryogel had it only by 14%.The cellulose suspension which provided the best results for the properties of the cryogels tested had a 4%concentration of NaOH.

Peculiarities of a liquid phase hydrogenation, namely lower diffusivity of components influencing the reaction rate and deactivation of catalysts by leaching, are discussed. A focus is on hydrogenation of aromatic compounds, whereas the following processes are evaluated：（l） partial hydrogenation of benzene to cyclohexene; （2） hydrogenation of aniline; （3） hydrogenation of diphenylamine; （4） preparation of aniline from nitrobenzene; （5） hydrogenation of chloronitrobenzenes; （6） hydrogenation of 4-nitrosodiphenylamine and 4-nitrodiphenylamine mixture. Processes （1） and （6） are typically carried out in the water-oil system. Generally, this type of system allows reaching a higher selectivity to desired products. In the case of hydrogenation of 4-nitrosodiphenylamine and 4-nitrodiphenylamine mixture, the water phase extracts a water soluble catalyst; which is recycled and used for condensation of aniline and nitrobenzene. Problems of reaction kinetics, as well as catalysts deactivation are here discussed.

Estimation of endogenous protein and amino acid ileal losses in weaned piglets by regression analysis using diets with graded levels of casein

E-commerce has been increasing rapidly and will obviously be more popular in the future. The growth of internet is believed to have given an impact on e-commerce’s growth in China because approximately thirty percent of Chinese alter to be active internet users. The trend is pointed out to the increase of e- commerce transaction value. This research aims to provide an insight to the Chinese e-commerce market by performing a forecast of internet users. Age, gender, and income, as part of demographic profiles, are selected since they are considered to positively influence the internet user’s online activity. Furthermore, this research also provides an analysis of guidelines for companies that want to enter the China e-commerce market. For the purpose of this research, time series analysis using ARImA model will be used as the research method. Overall, findings assert Chinese internet users seem to grow rapidly. male users are still predicted to the dominate market although, surprisingly, the result shows that male internet users are to go down gradually by 2015. In addition, the result shows that internet users who have high income are increasing. Therefore, it is indicated that luxury products become potential products to be marketed. Considering the overall phenomenon, it is likely that China will still continue to be a prospective e-commerce market in the future.

Background： many studies have investigated endogenous loss of proteins and amino acids （AAs） at the ileal level in growing pigs. However, only a few studies have researched this subject in piglets. Knowledge regarding AA ileal digestibility in piglets would be helpful during the formulation of diets for weaning piglets, rather than just using coefficients obtained in growing pigs. Therefore, in this study, we sought to estimate endogenous protein and AA ileal losses in piglets. Furthermore, apparent and true ileal digestibility （AID and TID） of protein and AAs from casein were measured. Results： The average flow of protein was 20.8 g/kg of dry matter intake （DmI）. Basal protein loss, as estimated by regression, was 16.9 g/kg DmI. Glutamic acid, arginine, and aspartic acid （2.2, 1.4, and 1.2 g/kg DmI, respectively） were the AAs for which greater losses were seen. The AID of protein and AAs increased as the protein level in the diet increased. A higher increment in AID was observed between diets with 80 and160 g CP/kg of feed; this finding was mainly attributable to increases in glycine and arginine （46.1% and 18%, respectively）. The TID of protein was 97.8, and the TID of AAs varied from 93.9 for histidine to 100.2 for phenylalanine. Conclusions： The basal endogenous protein loss in piglets was 16.9 g/kg DmI. Endogenous protein was rich in glutamic acid, aspartic acid, and arginine, which represented 32.7% of endogenous protein loss in weaning piglets. The TID of casein was high and varied from 93.0 for histidine to 100.2 for phenylalanine.

γ-valerolactone (GVL) is a C5-cyclic ester that can be produced from biomass providing a potentially renewable fuel for transportation and feedstock for the chemical industry. Experiments were performed with fossil diesel (D), D + biodiesel (BD) and D + BD + GVL blends. A four-cylinder, turbocharged direct injection diesel engine was used for the tests. The engine was coupled to a dynamometer to vary the load. CO, NOx, THC and smoke emissions were measured by using a multi-channel gas analyzer. Combustion characteristics were assessed by in-cylinder pressure data with respect to crank angle and the derived heat release rates. Compared with D, and D + BD blends, addition of GVL had relatively little effect on engine performance and NOx emission, but reduced the exhaust concentration of CO, unburned fuel and smoke significantly. The smoke reduction is particularly notable in view of the very recent suggestion that black carbon is the second most important greenhouse gas in the atmosphere next to carbon dioxide. No diesel engine study with GVL has been reported so far.

AIm: The authors have aimed at confirming or excluding gluten sensitivity in infertile couples. PATIENTS AND mETHODS: Between 2004 and 2010, at our outpatient clinics of immunology, both partners of 223 couples, who had striven for having a child unsuccessfully, underwent history taking, physical examination, laboratory and immuno-serologic tests including anti-tissue-transglutaminase antibody (antitTG), as well as deep duodenal biopsy in antibody-carrying patients. RESULTS: Antibodies against tissue transglutaminase were positive in 6/223 female patients of whom the diagnosis of celiac disease was histologically confirmed in 3/223 cases (1.34%). Of the male patients 2/223 (0.9%) have proven to be carriers of the antibody;histology was pathognomonic in both of them. Curiously, one of the male patients with celiac disease has been the partner of a woman who also had celiac disease diagnosed by the authors. In the followup period, a female patient and the female member of the couple with celiac disease gave birth to healthy newborns after spontaneous conception, as the result of a strictly kept gluten-free diet, as well as occasional treatments of acetylsalicylate for antiphos-pholipid syndrome or levothyroxine for latent hypothyroidism due to autoimmune thyroiditis. CONCLUSION: The results underline that it is worth performing a screening for celiac disease in both partners of couples assessed due to the lack of success in having a child, as infertility can be ceased by an appropriate diet.

Social Support Provided to Women Undergoing Breast Cancer Treatment:A Study Review

Breast cancer treatment may have implications for women’s quality of life and social support, which refers to mechanisms through which interpersonal relationships protect people from the detrimental effects of stress. This study’s objective was to analyze evidence available in the literature concerning social support provided to women with breast cancer undergoing chemotherapy. The Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences (LILACS), Pubmed, Web of Science, Psycinfo and Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL) databases were used to select the studies. The papers were pre-selected after reading titles and abstracts and ten papers were ultimately selected after fully reading the texts. The studies were summarized, while their methodological designs and results were noted. The analysis of the studies shows that social support can be provided to women with breast cancer, such as emotional, instrumental and informational support. It is apparent that emotional and instrumental support is provided in the first phase of the treatment. The main sources of support include the spouses, family members and friends. Spouses provide emotional support, but mainly provide instrumental support, while family members and friends are the most important source of emotional support. The conclusion is that emotional support greatly contributes to the health-disease continuum, favoring treatment adherence and creating opportunities for women to express their feelings, positively influencing the treatment.

Electrode material has been cited as one of the most important determining factors in classifying an energy storage system’s charge storage mechanism,i.e.,as battery-type or *** this paper,we show that along with the electrode material,the electrolyte also plays a role in determining the charge storage behaviour of the *** the purpose of our research,we chose multi-elemental spinal type Cumn_(2)O_(4) metal oxide nanofibers to prove the *** material is synthesized as nanofibers of diameter~120 to 150 nm in large scales by a pilot scale electrospinning set *** was then tested in three different electrolytes(1 m KOH,1 m Na_(2)SO_(4) and 1 m Li_(2)SO_(4)),two of which are neutral and the third is alkaline(KOH).The cyclic voltammograms and the galvanostatic charge-discharge of the electrode material in a three-electrode sys-tem measurement showed that it exhibit different charge storage mechanism in different electrolyte *** the neutral electrolytes,a capacitive behaviour was observed whereas a battery-type behaviour was seen for the alkaline *** leads us to conclude that the charge storage mechanism,along with the active material,also depends on the electrolyte used.
