This research study compares the steady-state and dynamic behaviour of a solar-powered activated carbon-35(AC35)/methanol-based vapour adsorption refrigeration system for production of ice at hot climate ***-modynamic comparisons are made with the coefficient of performance(COP),system COP(SCOP),specific refrig-eration capacity(SRC)and critical parameters such as cycle time and ice production rate are ***,the sustainability of the proposed ice maker has proven by integrating economic and environmental *** minimum solar flux required to ensure continuous ice production was found 800 W/m^(2).moreover,the max-imum ice production rate and COP were decreased by 32.36%and 37.63%respectively when the system was operated under real ambient *** proposed solar adsorptive ice maker achieved maximum SRC of 61.6 g m^(−2)during April month and reduced the CO_(2)emissions by 12.82 ton annually.

Emerging nanoscale applications in energy,electronics,optics,and medicine can exhibit enhanced performance by incorporating nanoshaped structures(nanoshape structures here are defined as shapes enabled by sharp corners with radius of curvaturem).Nanoshaped fabrication at high-throughput is well beyond the capabilities of advanced optical *** the highest-resolution e-beams and large-area e-beams have a resolution limit of 5 and 18 nm half-pitch lines or 20 nm half-pitch holes,respectively,their low throughput necessitates finding other fabrication *** using nanoimprint lithography followed by metal-assisted chemical etching,diamond-like nanoshapes with~3 nm radius corners and 100 nm half-pitch over large areas have been previously demonstrated to improve the nanowire capacitor performance(by~90%).In future dynamic random-access memory(DRAm)nodes(with DRAm being an exemplar CmOS application),the implementation of nanowire capacitors scaled tom halfpitch is *** scale nanoshape imprint lithography down to these half-pitch values,the previously established atomistic simulation framework indicates that the current imprint resist materials are unable to retain the nanoshape structures needed for DRAm *** this study,the previous simulation framework is extended to study improved shape retention by varying the resist formulations and by introducing novel bridge structures in nanoshape *** simulation study has demonstrated viable approaches to sub-10 nm nanoshaped imprinting with good shape retention,which are matched by experimental data.

Tooth enamel is a complex mineralized tissue consisting of long and parallel apatite crystals configured into decussating enamel rods. In recent years, multiple approaches have been introduced to generate or regenerate this highly attractive biomaterial characterized by great mechanical strength paired with relative resilience and tissue compatibility. In the present review, we discuss five pathways toward enamel tissue engineering,(i) enamel synthesis using physico-chemical means,(ii) protein matrix-guided enamel crystal growth,(iii) enamel surface remineralization,(iv) cell-based enamel engineering, and(v) biological enamel regeneration based on de novo induction of tooth morphogenesis. So far, physical synthesis approaches using extreme environmental conditions such as pH, heat and pressure have resulted in the formation of enamel-like crystal *** methods relying on enamel proteins as templating matrices have aided the growth of elongated calcium phosphate crystals. To illustrate the validity of this biochemical approach we have successfully grown enamel-like apatite crystals organized into decussating enamel rods using an organic enamel protein matrix. Other studies reviewed here have employed amelogeninderived peptides or self-assembling dendrimers to re-mineralize mineral-depleted white lesions on tooth surfaces. So far, cell-based enamel tissue engineering has been hampered by the limitations of presently existing ameloblast cell lines. Going forward, these limitations may be overcome by new cell culture technologies. Finally, whole-tooth regeneration through reactivation of the signaling pathways triggered during natural enamel development represents a biological avenue toward faithful enamel regeneration. In the present review we have summarized the state of the art in enamel tissue engineering and provided novel insights into future opportunities to regenerate this arguably most fascinating of all dental tissues.

Enantioseparation of threeβ-blockers,i.e.,atenolol,metoprolol and propranolol,was studied on amylose tris(3-chloro-5-methylphenylcarbamate)immobilized chiral stationary phase using supercritical fluid chromatography(SFC).The effect of organic modifiers(methanol,isopropanol and their mixture),column temperature and back pressure on chiral separation ofβ-blockers was *** chromatographic separation with respect to resolution,retention,and analysis time was achieved using a mixture of CO_(2) and 0.1%isopropyl amine in isopropanol:methanol(50:50,V/V),in 75:25(V/V)*** the optimized conditions,the resolution factors(Rs)and separation factors(a)were greater than3.0 and 1.5,***,with increase in temperature(25-45℃)and pressure(100-150 bars)there was corresponding decrease in retention factors(k),a and ***,a reverse trend(a and Rs)was observed for atenolol with increase in *** thermodynamic data from van’t Hoff plots revealed that the enantioseparation was enthalpy driven for metoprolol and propranolol while entropy driven for *** understand the mechanism of chiral recognition and the elution behavior of the enantiomers,molecular docking studies were *** binding energies obtained from simulation studies were in good agreement with the elution order found experimentally and also with the free energy *** method was validated in the concentration range of 0.5-10μg/m L for all the *** limit of detection and limit of quantitation ranged from 0.126 to 0.137μg/m L and 0.376-0.414μg/m L,*** method was used successfully to analyze these drugs in pharmaceutical preparations.

The oldest Asian record of alpheid shrimps,assigned to genus Alpheus,based on snapping claw fingertips from the miocene Khari Nadi Formation in the Kutch Basin,western India reported herein,extends the fossil record of the family Alpheidae from Asia by~22 million *** early miocene(Aquitanian)age is estimated based on the associated assemblage of calcareous nannofossils,Sphenolithus disbelemnos,Cyclicargolithus floridanus,and Reticulofenestra *** co-occurring microbiota includes bony fish otolith remains,identified as“genus Gobiidarum”,isolated teeth of Dasyatis rays,Sphyrna sharks,and teleosts,ctenoid and placoid scales,ostracods,belonging to the genera Paractinocythereis,Alocopocythere,Ruggieria,Aglaiocypris,Bairdoppilata,and echinoid *** together,the microfossil assemblage and data from chemical analyses using Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy,X-Ray Diffraction and Wavelength Dispersive X-Ray Fluorescence of host and associated lithologies suggests prevalence of a shallow(neritic)to coastal marine(intertidal)depositional *** present investigation also provides the oldest fossil evidence on the co-occurrence of Alpheus and gobiids(based on otoliths)that strongly advocates that the mutualistic association between these animal groups had developed by the Aquitanian.

The electromagnetic radiative transition widths for heavy quarkonia, as well as digamma and digluon decay widths, are computed in the framework of the extended harmonic confinement model （ERHm） and Coulomb plus power potential （CPP,） with varying potential index v. The outcome is compared with the values obtained from other theoretical models and experimental results. While the mass spectra, digamma and digluon widths from ERHm as well as CPP v=1 are in good agreement with experimental data, the electromagnetic transition widths span over a wide range for the potential models considered here making it difficult to prefer a particular model over the others because of the lack of experimental data for most transition widths.

The U.S. sheep industry, more than 80,000 producers of 40 million pounds of raw wool per year, is an important component of the meat industry. New methods for the treatment of domestic wool with keratin isolated from the unmarketable fraction of wool, and functionalized for water, oil, or insect repellency are needed. As a first step in the process, we are evaluating the effectiveness of keratin solubilization via relatively benign methods that use thioglycolic acid, bisulfite or sulfide to reduce disulfide bonds, peracetic acid or percarbonate to oxidize disulfides, and urea/thiourea as hydrogen bond disrupters. The procedures are compared in terms of quality of soluble protein, cost effectiveness, potential for upscaling, environmental and operator safety. Successful completion of this project will provide the basis for commercial development of such methods, followed by functional modification of the soluble keratin, and its application to textiles.
