Plants edited with new genomic techniques(NGTs)currently fall under the Genetically modified Organisms Directive(2001/18/Ec)in the European *** the proposal of the European commission,NGT plants are partially exempted from the regulations of this *** proposal makes a distinction between two categories of NGT plants:NGT-1 and ***-1 category plants are considered equal to plants obtained through conventional breeding *** plants will not be labelled for the consum.r,although they will be labelled as ***-2 category plants may be labelled with additional information as a positive *** of seeds of varieties made with gene editing,but not the products,would mean that most steps in the production chain are transparent,but not the last step towards ***“right to know”and increasing knowledge of gene-edited food is a common theme in food labelling towards ***,we describe current labelling regimes and registers and how these may be applied to provide transparency on gene-edited products to ***,we also look into consum.r studies,which indicate a greater acceptance of gene-edited food among consum.rs,especially when additional benefits such as sustainability are mentioned.

crystals of LiKGdF 5∶Er 3+, Tb 3+ grown by the hydrothermal synthesis technique with concentrations of 2% and 0.4% were analysed. By using site selective excitation measured at low temperature, luminescence and excitation spectra from Er 3+ and Tb 3+ ions embedded in LiKGdF 5 were clearly separated. The lifetimes of the emitting levels 4S 3/2 of Er 3+ and 5D 4 of Tb 3+ were also determined. Following the site selective spectroscopy study, the dominant energy transfer process from Tb 3+ to Er 3+ in the crystal was then investigated via transient experiments.

A Longi LGS 500 wet high intensity magnetic separator(WHImS) was used to concentrate a fine, low grade South African hematite ore. The ore was prepared into different size fractions and was subjected to changes in pulp density, magnetic field intensity and pulsation frequency which followed a 33 full factorial matrix. The concentrate mass yield and Fe grade were selected as the dependent responses to the changes. The analysis of variance(ANOVA) shows that the variables investigated are significant to the material's response to magnetic separation. This significance was in the order of magnetic field intensity followed by pulsation frequency and then pulp density. It was also noted that a single stage magnetic separation has a potential to upgrade a feed( 75 lm and 40% Fe) to a 55% Fe grade, as the pulsation frequency increases. In addition, the model predictions and actual data were in good agreement, reporting regression coefficients within acceptable ranges.

In this paper,an efficient interval analysis method called dimension-reduction interval analysis(DrIA)method is proposed to calculate the bounds of response functions with interval variables,which provides a kind of solution method for uncertainty analysis problems of complex structures and ***,multi-dimensional function is transformed into multiple one-dimensional functions by extending dimension reduction method to the interval analysis ***,all the one-dimensional functions are transformed to standard quadratic form by second order Taylor expansion *** a result,the multi-dimensional function is approximately represented by the functions that each interval variable occurs once,and interval power arithmetic can be used to efficiently calculate the bounds of response functions in restricted ***,three num.rical examples and an engineering application are investigated to demonstrate the validity of the proposed method.

An X-band pulsed Doppler microwave radar has been used to determine the characteristics of breaking waves. Field experiments were conducted at the Shuang-Si estuary in the north of Taiwan in the winter of 2005. Analyses on maxima radar cross section and Doppler frequency shift are done to characterize wave breaking zones. Based on observations of breaking waves, the wave breaking zones are shown to be located at water depths of 1.8 to 2.2 m in the experimental site. In general, the results indicate that a radar system has the potential to delineate the spatial variation of breaking waves clearly and that this is sufficient to achieve a measurement operation for near-shore air-sea interaction events.
