Crossed beak is a complex mode of inheritance with prevalence ranging from 0.2 to 7.4% in at least 12 chicken strains *** reveal the intrinsic factors causing crossed beaks,genes expression patterns in bilateral mandibular condyle between affected and normal birds were characterized by RNA sequencing analysis in the present *** beak was induced by short length of unilateral mandibular ramus,and a total of 110differentially expressed genes were up-or down-regulated in the affected(short)mandibular condyle side as compared to the normal *** anhydrase 2(CA2)and Carbonic anhydrase 13(CA13)were enriched in the carbonate dehydratase activity,and high-expressed in mandibular condyle and osteoblasts(Pmandibular condyle side of affected birds(Pments confirmed that there is positive association between the calcification and carbonic anhydrase *** analysis with cetylpyridinium chloride showed a decrease in calcification when the cells were transfected with an anti-CA13 *** research suggested that CA2 and CA13 are down-calcified in shortside mandibular condyle,and caused mandibular ramus to grow ***2 and CA13 have the critical role in crossed beaks by regulating calcification of mandibular condyle.

Proton exchange membrane(PEm)water electrolysis represents a promising technology for green hydrogen production,but its widespread deployment is greatly hindered by the indispensable usage of platinum group metal catalysts,especially iridium(Ir)based materials for the energy-demanding oxygen evolution reaction(OER).Herein,we report a new sequential precipitation approach to the synthesis of mixed Ir-nickel(ni)oxy-hydroxide supported on antimony-doped tin oxide(ATO)nanoparticles(IrniyO_(x)/ATO,20 wt.%(Ir+ni),y=0,1,2,and 3),aiming to reduce the utilisation of scarce and precious Ir while maintaining its good acidic OER *** tested in strongly acidic electrolyte(0.1 m HClO_(4)),the optimised Irni1Ox/ATO shows a mass activity of 1.0 mAµgIr^(−1) and a large turnover frequency of 123 s^(−1) at an overpotential of 350 mV,as well as a comparatively small Tafel slope of 50 mV dec^(−1),better than the IrOx/ATO control,particularly with a markedly reduced Ir loading of only 19.7µgIr cm^(−2).Importantly,Irni1O_(x)/ATO also exhibits substantially better catalytic stability than other reference catalysts,able to continuously catalyse acidic OER at 10 mA cm^(−2) for 15 h without obvious *** in-situ synchrotron-based x-ray absorption spectroscopy confirmed that the Ir^(3+)/Ir^(4+)species are the active sites for the acidic ***,the performance of Irni1Ox/ATO was also preliminarily evaluated in a membrane electrode assembly,which shows better activity and stability than other reference *** Irni1Ox/ATO reported in this work is a promising alternative to commercial IrO_(2) based catalysts for PEm electrolysis.

An inorganicDorganic hybrid crystalline material(Simo_(12)O_(40))[Cu(2,2'-bipy)_(2)]_(2)·2H_(2)O(Complex 1,2,2'-bipy=2,2'-bipyridine)was synthesized for the first time by using 2,2'-bipy and transition metal copper to convert Waugh-type polyoxometalate[mnmo_(9)O_(3)_(2)]_(6-)into a Keggin polyoxometalate structure[Simo_(12)O_(40)]^(4-)under hydrothermal conditions in glass *** crystal tests and a series of characterizations were carried out on Complex *** structure of Complex 1 is composed of[Simo_(12)O_(40)]^(4-)and[Cu^(Ⅱ)(2,2'-bipy)_(2)]^(2+).The five-coordinated Cu is connected to two 2,2'-bipy through CuDN bonds,forming an approximately square ***,Complex 1 exhibited good photocatalytic performance for methylene blue degradation and electrocatalytic nitrite reduction properties simultaneously.

Cognition on oxidation behavior of ni-based superalloy GH4742 when exposed to water vapor

The oxidation behavior of ni-based superalloy GH4742 exposed to water vapor was investigated at 900-1100℃for 50 h in Ar+20%H_(2)O,with Ar+20%O_(2)included for *** presence of H_(2)O is adverse to formation of continuous Cr_(2)O_(3)oxide layer but contributes to generation of big *** on this,ni^(2+)and Co^(2+)are more easily to diffuse towards the outermost oxide layer(OOL),forming non-protective ni-and Co-rich oxides with high *** leads to a higher weight gain in Ar+20%H_(2)O than that in Ar+20%O_(2).At elevated temperatures,the spallation of oxide scale occurs while the consumption of Cr is reduced in Ar+20%H_(2)O,and the contents of ni-and Co-rich oxides at this moment are reduced in the *** oxidation mechanism was also discussed.

An innovative intelligent system based on remote sensing and mathematical models for improving crop yield estimation

Tailoring Iron-Ion Release of Cellulose-Based Aerogel-Coated Iron Foam for Long-Term High-Power microbial Fuel Cells

The presence of iron(Fe) has been found to favor power generation in microbial fuel cells(mFCs). To achieve long-term power production in mFCs, it is crucial to effectively tailor the release of Fe ions over extended operating periods. In this study, we developed a composite anode(A/IF) by coating iron foam with cellulose-based aerogel. The concentration of Fe ions in the anode solution of A/IF anode reaches 0.280 μg/mL(Fe^(2+) vs. Fe^(3+) = 61%:39%) after 720 h of aseptic primary cell operation. This value was significantly higher than that(0.198 μg/mL, Fe^(2+) vs. Fe^(3+) = 92%:8%) on uncoated iron foam(IF), indicating a continuous release of Fe ions over long-term operation. Notably, the resulting mFCs hybrid cell exhibited a 23% reduction in Fe ion concentration(compared to a 47% reduction for the IF anode) during the sixth testing cycle(600-720 h). It achieved a high-power density of 301 ± 55 mW/m^(2) at 720 h, which was 2.62 times higher than that of the IF anode during the same period. Furthermore, a sedimentary microbial fuel cell(SmFCs) was constructed in a marine environment, and the A/IF anode demonstrated a power density of 103 ± 3 mW/m^(2) at 3240 h, representing a 75% improvement over the IF anode. These findings elucidate the significant enhancement in long-term power production performance of mFCs achieved through effective tailoring of Fe ions release during operation.

Selective photosynthesis of Z-olefins through crystalline metal-organic cage-initiated expeditious cascade reactions

The semi-hydrogenation of alkyne to form Z-olefins with high conversion and high selectivity is still a huge challenge in the chemical ***,flammable and explosive hydrogen as the common hydrogen source of this reaction increases the cost and danger of industrial ***,we connect the photocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction and the semihydrogenation reaction of alkynes in series and successfully realize the high selective production of Z-alkenes using low-cost,safe,and green water as the proton *** the cascade reaction,a series of isomorphic metal–organic cage catalysts(Co_(x)Zn_(8−x)L_(6),x=0,3,4,5,and 8)are designed and synthesized to improve the yield of the photocatalytic hydrogen *** them,Co_(5)Zn_(3)L_(6) shows the highest photocatalytic activity,with a H_(2) generation rate of 8.81 mmol g^(−1) h^(−1).Then,Co_(5)Zn_(3)L_(6) is further applied in the above tandem reaction to efficiently reduce alkynes to Z-alkenes under ambient conditions,which can reach high conversion of>98%and high selectivity of>99%,and maintain original catalytic activity after multiple ***“one-pot”tandem reaction can achieve a highly selective and safe stepwise conversion from water into hydrogen into Z-olefins under mild reaction conditions.

Large Seebeck coefficients induced by high degeneracy of conduction band minimum,and low intrinsic lattice thermal conductivity originated from large lattice vibrational anharmonicity render mg_(3)Sb_(2)as a promising n-type thermoelectric ***,we demonstrated unique concentration-dependent occupation behaviors of Cu in mg_(3.4)Sb_(1.5)Bi_(0.49)Te_(0.01)matrix,evidenced by structural characterization and transport property *** is found that Cu atoms prefer to enter the interstitial lattice sites in mg_(3)Sb_(2)host with low doping level(mg_(3.4)Sb_(1.5)Bi_(0.49)Te_(0.01)+x%Cu,xadditional electrons without deteriorating the carrier *** x is larger than 0.3%,the excessive Cu atoms are inclined to substitute mg atoms,yielding acceptors to decrease the electron *** a result,the electrical conductivity of the mg_(3.4)Sb_(1.5)Bi_(0.49)Te_(0.01)+0.3%Cu sample reaches 2.3×10^(4)S/m at 300 K,increasing by 300%compared with that of the pristine *** figure of merit zT values in the whole measured temperature range are significantly improved by the synergetic improvement of power factor and reduction of thermal *** average zT∼1.07 from 323 K to 773 K has been achieved for the mg_(3.4)Sb_(1.5)Bi_(0.49)Te_(0.01)+0.3%Cu sample,which is about 30%higher than that of the mg_(3.4)Sb_(1.5)Bi_(0.49)Te_(0.01) sample.
