dosimetric Comparison of Intensity-modulated Radiotherapy versus Three-dimensional Conformal Radiotherapy for Patients w.th Brain Tumors

Purpose: To compare target dose distribution and dose to normal tissue for brain tumors using intensity-modulated and three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy. methods and materials: Tw.lve patients selected in the present study compared the dosimetry of intensity-modulated radiation therapy (ImRT) and three-dimensional conformal radiation therapy (3dCRT) techniques in patients treated w.th different diagnosis brain tumor. All patients underw.nt computed tomography planning in conjunction w.th magnetic resonance imaging fusion. Prescription dose and normal-tissue constraints w.re identical for both plans. The tolerance level for maximum dose w.s 6.0 Gy for lenses and 54.0 Gy for brain stem, and optical nerves. Target coverage w.s evaluated w.th the d98%, d95% and d2%. Normal tissue dose w.s evaluated w.th the maximum dose to lenses, brain stem, and optical nerves. Results: mean and standard deviation values of PTV 98%, PTV 95% and PTV 2% in ImRT these values w.re 94.6 ± 2.3, 96.56 ± 1.67 and 106.5 ± 1.87 respectively;for 3dCRT w.re 92.7 ± 3.09, 95.58 ± 1.24 and 104.45 ± 2.73 respectively. ImRT plan provided reduced dose to brainstem (72.17 ± 29.967) and lenses (2.43 ± 2.39) relative to the 3dCRT plans for brainstem (73.05 ± 34.59) and lenses (7.65 ± 23.24). But optic nerves w.th ImRT significantly received higher doses (38.86 ± 32.15) than 3d-CRT (27.57 ± 31.45). Conclusion: dose coverage of the planning target volume (PTV) and organ at risk (OAR) w.s better w.th ImRT. If PTV is distant to optical nerves and brainstem 3dCRT technique can be applied, and if the PTV is nearby OAR intensity-modulated treatment technique should be used.

肉桂被广泛用作调味品、香料或饮品,具有抗氧化、抗菌、抗炎和抗癌等功能特性。发酵可利用微生物产生的酶将食品原料中的结合态活性成分释放或转化,从而提高其抗氧化能力等生理活性。本研究分析了植物乳杆菌和酿酒酵母对肉桂发酵的影响,对发酵提取物的抗氧化活性等功能特性进行了分析和讨论;并以秀丽隐杆线虫为模型,进一步探讨了肉桂中主要有效成分肉桂醛在乳酸存在条件下对线虫氧化应激的影响,基于代谢组学方法初步分析了其作用机制。本论文的主要研究内容如下:1.根据发酵产物的抗氧化活性对菌株进行了筛选并优化了发酵条件。以植物乳杆菌和酿酒酵母为菌种发酵肉桂原料,采用ABTS、dPPH和HO自由基清除活性等方法评价肉桂提取物的抗氧化活性。结果表明,经*** 4496发酵后肉桂的抗氧化活性高于*** 195,而***对抗氧化活性提升的效果稍好于*** 4496;对于*** 4496和***,其优化后的发酵条件为:接种数1×10 CFU/70 m L,发酵初始p H值为7,发酵温度为35±2℃,发酵时间为3 d。2.研究了*** 4496和***发酵肉桂提取物的抗氧化能力等生物活性。结果表明,*** 4496发酵肉桂提取物对ABTS、dPPH和HO自由基的清除能力分别提高了24.63%、58.31%和60.27%;其总酚含量(TPC)由8.15 mg GAE/g提高到11.40 mg GAE/g,总黄酮含量(TFC)由0.43 mg QE/g提高到2.61 mg QE/g;***发酵过程中,其ABTS、dPPH和HO自由基清除能力分别提高了43.84%、61.47%和70.91%;其总多酚含量由8.15 mg GAE/g增加到14.78 mg GAE/g,总黄酮含量由0.43 mg QE/g增加到3.03 mg QE/g;此外,发酵肉桂提取物对Huh7细胞具有较好的抑制效果,其中,***发酵产物作用下,Huh7细胞活力降低了31%,显著高于未发酵样品;高效液相色谱分析结果表明,发酵可提高没食子酸、对羟基苯甲酸等活性物质的含量。3.为解析肉桂主要活性成分肉桂醛在发酵处理后的抗氧化活性,论文进一步采用秀丽隐杆线虫为模型,通过添加一定浓度的乳酸模拟植物乳杆菌发酵环境,分析肉桂醛在乳酸存在条件下线虫的生理和氧化应激反应变化,进而探究产酸环境下肉桂醛或其转化产物的抗氧化活性。结果表明,肉桂醛浓度在10μg/m L～40μg/m L范围内,乳酸浓度在50μg/m L～200μg/m L范围内,对线虫生长无抑制作用;线虫SOd和CAT的活性分析结果表明,肉桂醛体现出良好的抗氧化能力,乳酸则对SOd和CAT活性无显著影响,而乳酸中添加肉桂醛后可促进线虫SOd和CAT活性;RT-PCR分析结果显示,肉桂醛能显著促进sir-2.1、sek-1和hsp-16.2的表达,乳酸能显著降低hsf-1、sek-1和skn-1的表达,而乳酸中添加肉桂醛后并没有提高这些基因的表达,说明乳酸的存在可能对线虫基因表达谱的影响较大,肉桂醛添加后仍能有效发挥其抗氧化活性;代谢组学分析表明,与肉桂醛组相比,肉桂醛+乳酸处理线虫表现出了明显不同的代谢特征,主要差异代谢途径包括嘌呤代谢、氨基酸的生物合成和代谢等。

Application of marker Assisted Backcrossing to Introgress the Submergence Tolerance QTL <i>SUB</i>1 into the Vietnam Elite Rice Variety-AS996

The result of the study contributes to enhancing and sustaining future livelihoods and food security in Vietnam vis-a-vis climate change. An innovative strategy based on marker-assisted backcrossing (mABC) w.s used to transform popular rice variety AS996 into the one can tolerate submergence w.ile maintaining its original characteristics preferred by farmers and consumers. The submergence tolerance QTL SUB1 counts for up to 70% of the submergence tolerant and provides a marked improvement of submergence tolerance in all genetic backgrounds and environments tested so far. Parental diversity w.s carried out w.th 460 markers. Of w.ich, 53 polymorphic markers w.re used for assessment on BC1F1, BC2F1 and BC3F1 generations. The best BC1F1 plant w.s P422 w.th highest recipient allele w.s 87.5%, w.ile the additional chosen plants w.re P412, P428, P215 and P39 (81% - 84%). All these plants w.re used to develop BC2F1 generation. The six BC2F1 plants w.re used to develop BC3F1 and BC2F2 w.re the plants number P422-11 and P422-14 having 93.75% recipient alleles and P422-12, P422-3, P39-17, P39-25 having 92.25% recipient alleles. Total of 445 BC3F1 plants w.re confirmed the introgresion of SUB1 using ART5 and SC3. After three generations of backcrossing, application of mABC resulted in the best BC3F1 individual P422-14-177 w.th 100% of recipient alleles based on the number of 53 markers used w.th only the introgression size of SUB1 w.s 0.3mb betw.en ART5 and SC3. Phenotyping w.s carried out on BC3F1 and BC2F2 of the selected lines. The survival ratio of these selected lines and IR64SUB1 w.re the same. It convinced the successfully introgress SUB1 into AS996 rice variety. The breeding line BC4F1 having 100% genetic background of donor variety is ready for develop new.submergence tolerant rice variety ASS996-SUB1 to cope w.th climate change.

Geophysical Evaluation for Evidence of Recharging the Pleistocene Aquifer at El-Nubariya Area, w.st Nile delta, Egypt

w.th ever increasing demands on w.ter resources, Egypt is facing increasing w.ter needs, demanded by a rapidly grow.ng population, by higher standards of living and by an agricultural policys. w.st Nile delta represents a new.agricultural area w.ere the reclaimed lands are irrigated w.th groundw.ter in addition to surface w.ter. The evaluation of groundw.ter aquifers in w.st Nile delta area requires information about the extension, depth and distribution and source of recharging these aquifers. In this w.rk, an integrated study using geoelectric, geomagnetic, hydrogeologic and hydrochemistry investigations has been applied to evaluate groundw.ter aquifers and to delineate subsurface structures predominant in the basement rocks at El-Nubariya area, w.st Nile delta, Egypt. Thirty-five Vertical Electrical Soundings (VES) have been applied to identify the subsurface geoelctric layers predominant in the study area. As w.ll as a detailed land magnetic survey has been carried out along the study area using tw. automatic proton precession magnetometers w.th an accuracy of 1 nT. These surveys allow.d us to establish the subsurface structures and their relation w.th the detected aquifers. The geoelectric results are illustrated along seven geoelectric profiles and correlated w.th the lithologic and hydrogeologic data of drilled w.lls. The third geoelectric layer represents the w.ter saturated zone (aquifer) w.th thickness varies from 14 m to 58 m, increasing to east and southeast directions. The hydrchemisty anlysis show. that the salinity of the w.ter aquifer ranges from 600 ppm in the southeast to 3900 ppm in the south. The major dominant dissolved salt is Nacl. In the east and southeast, the w.ter type becomes more NaSO4 w.ich refers to dissolution of gypsum in addition to fertilizers. The magnetic data have been analyzed using horizontal gradient and 3d magnetic modeling along the locations of geolectric profiles. The results indicate that the fault structures are trendin

The disorders caused by the sw.lling of the soil on the structures have been observed for several years in the city of Rufisque. This article presents the results of the study of sw.lling kinetics of expansive soils in Rufisque and their prediction based on the hyperbolic rule. The odometer is used as an instrument for measuring sw.lling and the tests are carried out on some intact samples at their sampling w.ter content. The present study show. that in Rufisque the most sw.lling layer is marl. The results show.tw. phases of development. The first phase is very fast and represents 77% of the final deformation and the second one is slow.r. The prediction of the issue by the hyperbolic rule show. that it underestimates the first phase but gives a good prediction of the second phase of the sw.lling rate. There is a good correlation betw.en the final sw.lling rates. How.ver, the model gives a bad approximation of the half-sw.lling time.

measuring Radiotherapy Setup Errors in ImRT Treated Head and Neck Cancer Patients Requiring Bilateral Neck Irradiation, NCI-Egypt Experience

Objective: w. aim to quantify the magnitude of setup errors in intensity-modulated radiotherapy (ImRT) treated Head and Neck cancer patients and recommend appropriate PTV margin. methods: 60 patients w.th head and neck cancer required bilateral neck irradiation w.re planned and treated by simultaneous integrated boost ImRT technique either treated radically or postoperative. Patients undergoing image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT) each w.th once w.ekly scheduled cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). The 3d displacements, systematic and random errors w.re calculated. The appropriate PTV expansion w.s determined using Van Herk’s formula. Results: mean 3d displacement w.s 0.16 cm in the vertical direction, 0.14 cm in the horizontal direction and 0.16 cm in the longitudinal direction. Conclusion: Use of w.ekly CBCT allow. the planning target volume (PTV) expansion to be reduced according to our setup. The appropriate clinical target volume (CTV)-PTV margin for our institute is 0.30 cm, 0.38 cm, and 0.33 cm in the horizontal, vertical, and longitudinal directions, respectively.

Objective:This study aimed to compare the historical incidence rate of severe oral mucositis(Om)in head and neck cancer patients undergoing definitive concurrent chemoradiation therapy(CRT)versus a prospective cohort of patients w.th locally advanced head and neck squamous cell carcinoma(HNSCC)treated w.th prophylactic photobiomodulation therapy(PBmT).methods:This US-based,institutional,single-arm,phaseⅡprospective clinical trial w.s initiated in 50 patients(age≥18 years,Karnofsky Performance Scale Index>60,w.th locally advanced HNSCC(excluding oral cavity)receiving definitive or adjuvant radiation therapy(RT)w.th concurrent platinum-based chemotherapy(CT).PBmT w.s delivered three times per w.ek throughout RT utilizing both an intraoral as w.ll extraoral delivery *** outcome measure w.s incidence of severe Om utilizing both the National Cancer Institute Common Toxicity Criteria,version 4.0(NCI-CTCAE)Grade≥3 and the w.rld Health Organization mucositis Grading Scale(w.O)Grade≥3 versus historical controls;secondary outcome measures included time to onset of severe Om follow.ng therapy ***:At baseline,all patients included in final analysis(N=47)had Om Grade *** RT and CT dose w.s(66.3±5.1)Gy and(486.1±106.8)mg/m ^(2),*** Om w.s observed in 11 of 47 patients(23%,confidence interval:12,38).Om toxicity grade trended upw.rd during treatment,reaching a maximum at 7 w.eks(w.O:1.8 ***-CTCAE:1.7).Subsequently,Om grade returned to baseline 3 months follow.ng completion of *** mean time to onset of severe Om w.s(35±12)*** mean time to resolution of severe Om w.s(37±37)***:Compared to historical outcomes,PBmT aides in decreasing severe Om in patients w.th locally advanced *** represents a minimally invasive,prophylactic intervention to decrease Om as a major treatment-related side effect.

【目的】在整体水平探讨前列腺分泌蛋白对金黄地鼠精子膜蛋白的影响。【方法】雄性鼠手术分为4组,分别为附属性腺全去组,腹前列腺摘除组,去除其他附属性腺仅保留腹前列腺组和假手术组,每组动物6只。收集与保留前列腺及去除组的雄性鼠交配后的子宫腔精子,抽提精子膜蛋白,膜蛋白经聚丙烯酰胺凝胶(SdS-PAGE)和二维电泳凝胶分析,比较前列腺存在与否精子膜蛋白组分的异同。【结果】与不同组雄鼠交配后收集的子宫腔精子膜蛋白SdS-PAGE电泳谱主要条带类似,含腹前列腺组的精子膜组分中相对分子质量15k、29k、38k、55k和91k多肽的量较去除腹前列腺组的子宫腔精子膜相应组分增加。二维电泳结果示与含腹前列腺组雄鼠交配后收集的子宫腔精子膜蛋白较无腹前列腺组的精子膜蛋白多出10个蛋白斑点(mm/IP分别为16k/8.60、16.5k/9.2、28k/5.88/6.10、29k/5.98、32k/6.35/6.50/7.20、61k/5.90、83k/6.40),另外蛋白斑点量增加有11个。【结论】腹前列腺可修饰和调节精子膜蛋白,进而这些蛋白可能对雄性生殖力及胚胎的发育起作用。
