WC-Co is used widely in die and mold industries due to its unique combination of hardness, strength and wear-resistance. For machining difficult-to-cut materials, such as tungsten carbide, micro-electrical discharge machining(EDm) is one of the most effective methods for making holes because the hardness is not a dominant parameter in EDm. This paper describes the characteristics of the discharge conditions for micro-hole EDm of tungsten carbide with a WC grain size of 0.5 μm and Co content of 12%. The EDm process was conducted by varying the condenser and resistance values. A R-C discharge EDm device using arc erosion for micro-hole machining was suggested. Furthermore, the characteristics of the developed micro-EDm were analyzed in terms of the electro-optical observation using an oscilloscope and field emission scanning electron microscope.

Electrolytic manganese residue(EmR) is the waste slag generated from the electrolysis manganese *** a promising exploitable adsorbent,EmR has become a hot research ***,EmR’s low adsorption capacity has limited its applications as an efficient *** this study,the EmR was mixed with serpentine and calcined(at 800℃ for 2 h) to prepare a composite adsorbent(S-EmR) with its specific surface area of 11.998 m^(2)·g^(-1)(increased compared to the original EmR) and improved adsorption capacities for Cd^(2+)(98.05 mg·g^(-1)) and Pb^(2+)(565.81 mg·g^(-1)).Kinetic studies have shown that the pseudo-first-order kinetics(PSO)model could best describe the adsorption kinetics of S-EmR for Cd^(2+)/Pb^(2+),implying that the chemisorption process is the rate-limiting *** effects of different interfering ions on S-EmR’ s adsorption for Cd^(2+)/Pb^(2+)may be due to the difference in their *** of response surface methodology tests showed that pH had the highest influence on adsorption,and the removal efficiency of S-EmR reached 99.92% for Cd(Ⅱ) and 94.00%for Pb(Ⅱ).X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) analyses revealed that chemical precipitation was the predominant mechanism for Cd^(2+)/Pb^(2+)removal,and the adsorption mechanisms were associated with ion exchange and electrostatic *** results showed that S-EmR could be used as an effective adsorbent for the removal of Cd(Ⅱ)/Pb(Ⅱ) from water bodies,rendering dual benefits of pollution control and resource recovery.

Cross-sectional homogenization for full-core calculations of small and complex reactor configurations,such as research reactors,has been recently recognized as an interesting and challenging *** paper presents the development of a PARCS/Serpent model for the neutronics analysis of a research reactor type TRIGA mark-II loaded with Russian VVR-m2 fuel(known as the Dalat Nuclear Research Reactor or DNRR).The full-scale DNRR model and a supercell model for a shim/safety rod and its surrounding fuel bundles with the monte Carlo code Serpent 2 were proposed to generate homogenized fewgroup cross sections for full-core diffusion calculations with *** full-scale DNRR model with Serpent 2 was also utilized as a reference to verify the PARCS/Serpent *** of the effective neutron multiplication factors,radial and axial core power distributions,and control rod worths showed a generally good agreement between PARCS and Serpent *** addition,the discrepancies between the PARCS and Serpent 2 results are also ***,the results indicate the applicability of the PARCS/Serpent model for further steady state and transient analyses of the DNRR.

Effector B cells are central contributors to the development of autoimmune disease by activating autoreactive T cells,producing pro-inflammatory cytokines and organizing ectopic lymphoid ***,IL-10-producing regulatory B(Breg)cells have pivotal roles in maintaining immunological tolerance and restraining excessive inflammation in autoinflammatory ***,regulating the equilibrium between antibody-producing effector B cells and Breg cells is critical for the treatment of autoimmune *** this study,we investigated the effect of human palatine tonsil-derived mesenchymal stem cells(T-mSCs)on estradiol(E2)-induced B-cell responses in vivo and in *** of T-mSC into E2-treated mice alleviated B-cell-mediated immune responses and increased the population of IL-10-producing Breg cells.T-mSCs regulated the B-cell populations by producing Epstein–Barr virus(EBV)-induced 3(EBI3),one of the two subunits of IL-35 that is the well-known inducer of Breg *** demonstrate a critical role of EBI3(IL-35)in vitro by depleting EBI3 in T-mSCs and by adding exogenous IL-35 to the culture *** together,our data suggest that IL-35-secreting mSCs may become an attractive therapeutic to treat B-cell-mediated autoimmune diseases via expanding Breg cells.

For the conventional single-ended eFuse cell, sensing failures can occur due to a variation of a post-program eFuse resistance during the data retention time and a relatively high program resistance of several kilo ohms. A differential paired eFuse cell is designed which is about half the size smaller in sensing resistance of a programmed eFuse link than the conventional single-ended eFuse cell. Also, a sensing circuit of sense amplifier is proposed, based on D flip-flop structure to implement a simple sensing circuit. Furthermore, a sensing margin test circuit is proposed with variable pull-up loads out of consideration for resistance variation of a programmed eFuse. When an 8 bit eFuse OTP IP is designed with 0.18 ~tm standard CmOS logic of TSmC, the layout dimensions are 229.04 μm ×100.15μm. All the chips function successfully when 20 test chips are tested with a program voltage of 4.2 V.

Evaluation of high yielding soybean germplasm under water limitation

Limited information is available for soybean root traits and their plasticity under drought stress. To date, no studies have focused on examining diverse soybean germ- plasm for regulation of shoot and root response under water limited conditions across varying soil types. In this study, 17 genetically diverse soybean germplasm lines were selected to study root response to water limited conditions in clay （trial 1） and sandy soil （trial 2） in two target environments. Physiological data on shoot traits was measured at multiple crop stages ranging from early vegetative to pod filling. The phenotypic root traits, and biomass accumulation data are collected at pod filling stage. In trial 1, the number of lateral roots and forks were positively correlated with plot yield under water limitation and in trial 2, lateral root thickness was positively correlated with the hill plot yield. Plant Introduction （PI） 578477A and 088444 were found to have higher later root number and forks in clay soil with higher yield under water limitation, in sandy soil, P1458o2o was found to have a thicker lateral root system and higher yield under water limitation. The genotypes identified in this study could be used to enhance drought tolerance of elite soybean cultivars through improved root traits specific to target environments.

Annual forage legumes are important components of livestock production systems in East Texas and the southeastern US. Forage legumes contribute nitrogen (N) to cropping systems through biological N fixation, and their seasonal biomass production can be managed to complement forage grasses. Our research objectives were to evaluate both warm- and cool-season annual forage legumes as green manure for biomass, N content, ability to enhance soil organic carbon (SOC) and soil N, and impact on post season forage grass crops. Nine warm-season forage legumes (WSL) were spring planted and incorporated as green manure in the fall. Forage rye (Secale cereale L.) was planted following the incorporation of WSL treatments. Eight cool-season forage legumes (CSL) were fall planted in previously fallow plots and incorporated as green manure in late spring. Sorghum-sudangrass (Sorghum bicolor x Sorghum bicolor var. sudanense) was planted over all treatments in early summer after forage rye harvest and incorporation of CSL treatments. Sorghum-sudangrass was harvested in June, August and September, and treatments were evaluated for dry matter and N concentration. Soil cores were taken from each plot, split into depths of 0 to 15, 15 to 30 and 30 to 60 cm, and soil C and N were measured using combustion analysis. Nylon mesh bags containing plant samples were buried at 15 cm and used to evaluate decomposition rate of above ground legume biomass, including change in C and N concentrations. mungbean (Vigna radiata L. [Wilczek]) had the highest shoot biomass yield (6.24 t Dm ha-1) and contributed the most total N (167 kg∙ha-1) and total C (3043 kg∙ha-1) of the WSL tested. Decomposition rate of WSL biomass was rapid in the first 10 weeks and very slow afterward. Winter pea (Pisum sativum L. spp. sativum), arrow leaf clover (Trifolium vesiculosum Savi.), and crimson clover (Trifolium incarnatum L.) were the most productive CSL in this trial. monoclinic Cu3V2O7（OH）2·2H2O（copper polyvanadate） hollow spheres were prepared with Na2V6O16·3H2O nanobelts as V-precursor by hydrothermal method. The purity and structure of the products were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction（XRD）, Fourier transform infrared（FTIR） spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis（TGA） and X-ray photoelecton spectroscopy（XPS）. The morphology and size were observed by scanning electron microscopy（SEm）. We found that the Kagomé staircase-structural copper polyvanadate hollow spheres with an average diameter of 7 μm could be easily synthesized via the reaction of Na2V6O16·3H2O nanobelts with sufficient copper sulfate. The dielectric property of the copper polyvanadate demonstrates that dielectric loss hardly changes when the frequency of applied electric field is higher than 100 kHz. The formation process of the hollow spheres is discussed in detail by the observation of a series of products prepared for different reaction time.

O_(x)idative couplings of aliphatic alkynes are crucial for the production of naturally occurring 1,*** we report the novel approach for effective synthesis of unsaturated coordinated N doped copper oxides(N-CuO_(x))catalyst,and uncover that N-CuO_(x) catalyst as an additive-free and cost-effective heterogeneous catalyst has highly catalytic performance for directly oxidative coupling of aliphatic *** key to achieve efficient oxidative coupling of aliphatic alkynes is the synergistic effect of N species and uncoordinated O/Cu species caused by N dopants,which undergoes the Langmuir–Hinshelwood reaction *** N-CuO_(x) catalyst displays~89.1%yield for hexadeca-7,9-diyne under mild conditions and stable reusability(5 cycles),showing significant advances compared with the traditionally copper *** findings highlight the heteroatom dopants that provide a new methodology for designing efficient copper catalysts in synthesis of naturally occurring 1,3-diynes.
