Root distribution in the soil determines plants’nutrient and water uptake ***,root distribution is one of the most important factors in crop *** trench profile method is used to observe the root distribution underground by making a rectangular hole close to the crop,providing informative images of the root distribution compared to other root phenotyping ***,much effort is required to segment the root area for *** this study,we present a promising approach employing a convolutional neural network for root segmentation in trench profile *** defined two parameters,Depth50 and Width50,representing the vertical and horizontal centroid of root distribution,*** parameters for root distribution in rice(Oryza sativa L.)predicted by the trained model were highly correlated with parameters calculated by manual *** results indicated that this approach is useful for rapid quantification of the root distribution from the trench profile *** the trained model,we quantified the root distribution parameters among 60 rice accessions,revealing the phenotypic diversity of root *** conclude that employing the trench profile method and a convolutional neural network is reliable for root phenotyping and it will furthermore facilitate the study of crop roots in the field.

We evaluated the cellular structure changes after continuous use of ripasudil hydrochloride hydrate in rabbit eyes which might affect its own efficacy and adverse effects. Two pigmented Dutch rabbits and 1 Japanese white rabbit were instilled with 0.4% ripasudil hydrochloride hydrate to the left eye twice daily. The right eye was observed as the control. Both eyes of all 3 rabbits were then enucleated for histopathologic examination by light and electron microscope at 1 mo in 1 of the pigmented Dutch rabbits, 3 mo in the other pigmented Dutch rabbit, and in the Japanese white rabbit after instillation. microscopic observations showed increase intercellular space in trabecular meshwork, ciliary body, and iris stoma, increase pigmented granule number and size in iris epithelial cells, and decrease actin filament in iris muscle fiber cells. Consequently, ripasudil hydrochloride hydrate decreases the intraocular pressure by improving the conventional outflow and may also facilitate the unconventional outflow via intercellular space widening without serious side effects.

＜正＞We want to identify the "near optimal" shape - of the real arch and its （optimal） load. For this purpose we use a special isoparametric arc element with two nodes. To ensure continuity of C4 order and non-negative load’s grow rate from centre of the arch to the supports, we use ordinate of node and its: first, second third and forth derivatives - as nodal unknowns. For the real arch we know only approximately （measured） ordinates in restricted number of points. We have to find optimal value of node unknowns which are giving minimum least square aproximation betwen measured and optimal ordinates - and are satisfying full stress design. Load has prescribed value （between allowed boundaries）. Numerical solution is tested on the real Bridge.

Background:A key step in gene expression is the recognition of the stop codon to terminate translation at the correct ***,it has been observed that ribosomes can misinterpret the stop codon and continue the translation in the 3′UTR *** phenomenon is called stop codon read-through(SCR).It has been suggested that these events would occur on a programmed basis,but the underlying mechanisms are still not well ***:Here,we present a strategy for the comprehensive identification of SCR events in the Drosophila melanogaster transcriptome by evaluating the ribosomal density *** associated ribosomal leak rate was estimated for every event identified.A statistical characterization of the frequency of nucleotide use in the proximal region to the stop codon in the sequences associated to SCR events was ***:The results show that the nucleotide usage pattern in transcripts with the uga codon is different from the pattern for those transcripts ending in the UAA codon,suggesting the existence of at least two mechanisms that could alter the translational termination ***,a linear regression models for each of the three stop codons was developed,and we show that the models using the nucleotides at informative positions outperforms those models that consider the entire sequence context to the stop ***:We report that distal nucleotides can affect the SCR rate in a stop-codon dependent manner.

Plants encode a diverse repertoire of DNA methyltransferases that have specialized to target cytosines for methylation in specific sequence contexts. These include the de novo methyltransferase, DOmAINS REARRANGED mETHYLTRANSFERASE 2 （DRm2）, which methylates cytosines in all sequence contexts through an RNA-guided process, the CHROmOmETHYLASES （CmTs）, which methylate CHH and CHG cytosines （where H is A, T, or C）, and mETHYLTRANSFERASE 1 （mET1）, which maintains methylation of symmetrical CG contexts. In this review, we discuss the sequence specificities and targeting of each of these pathways. In particular, we highlight recent studies that indicate CmTs preferentially target CWG or CWA/CAW motifs （where W is A or T）, and discuss how self-reinforcing feedback loops between DNA methyltransferases and histone modifications characteristic of heterochromatin specify targeting. Finally, the initiating events that lead to gene body methylation are discussed as a model illustrating how interde- pendent targeting of different silencing pathways can potentiate the establishment of off-target epialleles.

magnesium and its alloys are the most investigated materials for solid-state hydrogen storage in the form of metal hydrides,but there are still unresolved problems with the kinetics and thermodynamics of hydrogenation and dehydrogenation of this group of *** plastic deformation(SPD)methods,such as equal-channel angular pressing(ECAP),high-pressure torsion(HPT),intensive rolling,and fast forging,have been widely used to enhance the activation,air resistance,and hydrogenation/dehydrogenation kinetics of mg-based hydrogen storage materials by introducing ultrafine/nanoscale grains and crystal lattice *** severely deformed materials,particularly in the presence of alloying additives or second-phase nanoparticles,can show not only fast hydrogen absorption/desorption kinetics but also good cycling *** was shown that some materials that are apparently inert to hydrogen can absorb hydrogen after SPD ***,the SPD methods were effectively used for hydrogen binding-energy engineering and synthesizing new magnesium alloys with low thermodynamic stability for reversible low/room-temperature hydrogen storage,such as nanoglasses,high-entropy alloys,and metastable phases including the high-pressureγ-mgH2 *** work reviews recent advances in the development of mg-based hydrogen storage materials by SPD processing and discusses their potential in future applications.

In this paper, a constrained genetic algorithm (CGA) is proposed to solve the single machine total weighted tardiness problem. The proposed CGA incorporates dominance rules for the problem under consideration into the GA operators. This incorporation should enable the proposed CGA to obtain close to optimal solutions with much less deviation and much less computational effort than the conventional GA (uga). Several experiments were performed to compare the quality of solutions obtained by the three versions of both the CGA and the uga with the results obtained by a dynamic programming approach. The computational results showed that the CGA was better than the uga in both quality of solutions obtained and the CPU time needed to obtain the close to optimal solutions. The three versions of the CGA reduced the percentage deviation by 15.6%, 61.95%, and 25% respectively and obtained close to optimal solutions with 59% lower CPU time than what the three versions of the uga demanded. The CGA performed better than the uga in terms of quality of solutions and computational effort when the population size and the number of generations are smaller.
