Joining of hybrid AA6063-6SiCp-3Grp composite and AISI1030 steel by friction welding

Joining of metals and aluminium hybrid metal matrix composites has significant applications in aviation,ship building and automotive industries. In the present work, investigation is carried out on Friction Welding of AISI 1030 steel and hybrid AA6063-6 SiC_p-3 Gr_pcomposite, that are difficult to weld by fusion welding technique. Silicon carbide and graphite particle reinforced AA6063 matrix hybrid composite was developed successfully using stir casting method and the joining feasibility of AISI1030 steel with AA6063-6 SiC_p-3 Gr_p hybrid composite was tried out by friction stud welding technique. During friction stage of welding process, the particulates(SiC & Graphite) used for reinforcement, tend to increase the viscosity and lead to improper mixing of matrix and reinforcement. This eventually results in lower strength in dissimilar joints. To overcome this difficulty AA1100 interlayer is used while joining hybrid composite to AISI 1030 steel. Experimentation was carried out using Taguchi based design of experiments(DOE) technique. multiple regression methods were applied to understand the relationship between process parameters of the friction stud welding process. micro structural examination reveals three separate zones namely fully plasticized zone, partially deformed zone and unaffected base material zone. Ultra fine dynamically recrystallized grains of about 341 nm were observed at the fully plasticized zone. EDX analysis confirms the presence of intermetallic compound Fe_2 Al_5 at the joint interface. According to the experimental analysis using DOE, rotational speed and interlayer sheet thickness contribute about 39% and 36% respectively in determining the impact strength of the welded joints. It is found that joining with 0.5 mm interlayer sheet provides efficient joints. Developed regression model could be used to predict the axial shortening distance and impact strength of the welded joint with reasonable accuracy.

Geochemical and mineralogical studies were performed in the La Pesca(LP)and Tesoro Altamira(TA)beach sediments,located in the Tamaulipas state,northern Gulf of *** main aim of this study is to infer the weathering history and provenance and to discriminate the tectonic environment of the beach *** sediments are composed of quartz with small amounts of accessory minerals such as plagioclase,calcite,orthoclase,microcline,and *** beach sediments are classified as fine-grained and very well sorted,however LP has coarse skewed and leptokurtic sediments,whereas TA has fine-skewed and very leptokurtic *** chemical index of weathering(CIW’)indicates intense weathering in the source *** quartz grain microtextures in the LP and TA are classified into mechanical,chemical,and mechanical/chemical *** features such as fractures,pits,percussion marks,abrasion fatigue,and V-shaped marks favor high-energy littoral,fluvial,subaqueous-marine,and aeolian *** chemical features indicate solution pits and crystalline overgrowth,which suggests a silica saturated marine *** mechanical/chemical features display adhering particles and elongated depressions suggest formation in a sub-aqueous nearshore marine *** and trace elements-based provenance discrimination diagrams indicate a felsic source derived from the mesa Central(mC),Sierra madre Oriental(SmOr)and Oaxaquia *** major and trace element concentrations imply a passive margin setting for the northern Gulf of mexico,which is consistent with the general geology.

Assessment of the ballistic response of honeycomb sandwich structures subjected to offset and normal impact

In the present study,experimental and numerical investigations were carried out to examine the behavior of sandwich panels with honeycomb *** high velocity impact tests were carried out using a compressed air gun.A sharp conical nosed projectile was impacted normally and with some offset distance(20 mm and 40 mm).The deformation,failure mode and energy dissipation characteristics were obtained for both kinds of ***,the explicit solver was run in Abaqus to create the finite element *** numerically obtained test results were compared with the experimental to check the accuracy of the *** numerical result was further employed to obtain strain energy dissipation in each element by externally running user-defined code in ***,the influence of inscribe circle diameter and cell wall and face sheet thickness on the energy dissipation,deformation and failure mode was *** result found that ballistic resistance and deformation were higher against offset impact compared to the normal impact *** panel impacted at 40 mm offset distance required 3 m/s and 1.9 m/s more velocity than 0 and 20 mm offset ***,increasing the face sheet and wall thickness had a positive impact on the ballistic resistance in terms of a higher ballistic limit and energy ***,inscribe circle diameter had a negative influence on the ballistic ***,the geometrical parameters of the sandwich structure had a significant influence on the energy dissipation in the different deformation *** energy dissipation in plastic work was highest for circumferential direction,regardless of impact condition followed by tangential,radial and axial directions.

Background:Neuroplasticity is a phenomenon exhibited by our nervous system as an indicator of overall development and in response to training,injury/loss of particular function,treatment/drugs and as a result of stimulation from the surrounding ***:The aim of the current study was to assess the auditory working memory capacities in Bharatanatyam ***:The participants comprised fifty-four females with normal hearing sensitivity who belonged to two ***-I consisted of 27 individuals who underwent formal training in Bharatanatyam for a minimum period of three ***-II consisted of the age-matched control group,consisting of 27individuals who were *** auditory working memory tasks included arranging the English digits presented binaurally in forward,backward,ascending,and descending *** maximum values(for the length of sequence arranged),midpoint values(average score),and response time for each task were noted down and compared among ***:The scores were compared using the mann-Whitney U test,which revealed enhanced working memory exhibited by dancers for maximum values and midpoint scores for all three tasks except ascending *** was also noted that the dancers exhibited a shorter response time compared to nondancers for all the tasks except ascending ***:The current study highlights an enhanced auditory working memory capacity in Bharatanatyam dancers,which could be perceived as evidence of neuroplastic changes induced in the auditory and motor cortex as a consequence of extensive stimulation for auditory processing abilities and motor planning resulting from long-term dance training and regular practice.

Interfacial solar-driven evaporation technique is an environmental friendly and cost-effective advanced approach for water purification using solar *** energy sources are effectively utilized using the structural design of evaporators and functional *** this work,we have fabricated a solar-driven interfacial evaporation device with Banana Pseudo Stem(BPS)and a photothermal layer made up of PVA PDmS Carbon(PPC)is attached to *** evaporation rate of 2.03 kg m^(−2) h^(−1) is achieved by the system under 1 sun *** localization on interfacial surface,reflectance of photothermal layer,presence of micro-fluidic channels in BPS were studied using IR imaging,UV-DRS and SEm characterization techniques,*** localization of interfacial temperature around 53℃ and very low reflectance of photothermal layer substantiates high photothermal conversion efficiency of the *** complete purification of water containing high concentration of Rhodamine-B dye using BPS is a novel and simple approach for water *** is an eco-friendly,cost-efficient novel approach in fabrication of interfacial solar-driven evaporation system with high evaporation rate for purification of water containing high concentration of organic dye.

Process Tolerant and Power Efficient SRAm Cell for Internet of Things Applications

The use of Internet of Things(IoT)applications become dominant in many *** on-chip data processing and computations are also increasing *** battery enabled and low leakage memory system at subthreshold regime is a critical requirement for these IoT *** cache memory designed on Static Random-Access memory(SRAm)cell with features such as low power,high speed,and process tolerance are highly important for the IoT memory ***,a process tolerant SRAm cell with low power,improved delay and better stability is presented in this research *** proposed cell comprises 11 transistors designed with symmetric approach for write operations and single ended circuit for read operations that exhibits an average dynamic power saving of 43.55%and 47.75%for write and 35.59%and 36.56%for read operations compared to 6 T and 8 T SRAm *** cell shows an improved write delay of 26.46%and 37.16%over 6 T and 8T and read delay is lowered by 50.64%and 72.90%against 6 T and 10 T *** symmetric design used in core latch to improve the write noise margin(WNm)by 17.78%and 6.67%whereas the single ended separate read circuit improves the Read Static Noise margin(RSNm)by 1.88x and 0.33x compared to 6 T and 8T *** read power delay product and write power delay product are lower by 1.94x,1.39x and 0.17x,2.02x than 6 T and 8 T cells *** lower variability from 5000 samples validates the robustness of the proposed *** simulations are carried out in Cadence virtuoso simulator tool with Generic Process Design Kit(GPDK)45 nm technology file in this work.
