Adherence to Preventive measures during the COVID-19 Pandemic among University Students in Sudan

Background: Coronavirus disease 2019, otherwise known as COVID-19, emerged in December of 2019. COVID-19 spreads through an airborne transmission route. Preventive measures were described to help decrease the spread of COVID-19 worldwide. There were a number of preventive measures that were globally adopted: social distance of at least 1 meter, mask wearing, washing hands for 20 seconds, and covering the mouth and nose if the person sneezes or coughs. methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study among 362 students from the International University of Africa, Sudan, was carried out between August 2021 and September 2022. Statistical Package for Social Sciences version 26 was used for data analysis;frequency and percentage were used to describe the qualitative variables. A chi-square test was used for association analysis;a P-value ≤ 0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: Among study participants, the females were 70.9%;most were 20 - 23 years old (73.6%). 54.2% were vaccinated against COVID-19;83.6% had good knowledge regarding the mode of transmission, and 76.1% stayed in during quarantine. 80.6% of participants understood social distancing correctly. 76.1% of males and 45.1% of females started or completed vaccination (P ≤ 0.05). 51.4% of males and 81.3% of females adhered to preventive measures (P ≤ 0.05). Conclusions: It is important to target health education campaigns and interventions to improve adherence to preventive measures among university students. Although the pandemic is coming to an end, a lesson should be learned from it, and future preparation should be employed.

Appropriate knowledge of the parental cultivars is a pre-requisite for a successful breeding *** study characterized fruit yield,quality attributes,and molecular variations of ten tomato cultivars during three consecutive generations under greenhouse *** 86,Castle Rock,and Red Star cultivars showed the highest fruit yield(kg/plant),total phenolic compounds(TPC),and sap *** component analysis categorized the evaluated fruit yield into three groups based on their quality attributes.A robust positive correlation appeared among traits inside each group.A positive correlation was likewise noticed between the first and the second ***,a negative correlation was detected between the first,the second and the third *** profiling,using seven inter-simple sequence repeat(ISSR)primers,produced 60 loci,including 49 polymorphic *** molecular analysis also pinpointed the highest genetic similarity(0.92)between P73 and moneymaker,while the lowest genetic similarity(0.46)was observed between Castle Rock and *** cultivars P73 and moneymaker showed the lowest genetic distance(2.24),while the highest genetic distance(5.92)was observed between Super marmand and Peto86,on the one hand,and between Castle Rock and moneymaker,on the other *** chemical analysis of fruit sap indicated the highest levels of TPC,total flavonoids,anthocyanin,ascorbic acid and total soluble solids in Peto 86 and Castle Rock *** analysis of tomato cultivars based on morphological and molecular attributes indicated four distinct *** 86,Castle Rock,and Red star cultivars can be recommended for the tomato hybridization breeding programs in the future,with other tomato cultivars as potentially high-yielding parents.

Hydrophobic coating of surfaces by plasma polymerization in an RF plasma reactor with an outer planar electrode:synthesis,characterization and biocompatibility

This paper presents the plasma polymerization of poly（hexafluorobutyl acrylate）（PHFBA） thin films on different substrates in an RF plasma reactor with an outer planar electrode. This reactor configuration allows？large area uniformity and fast processing times. Deposition rates of up to60 nm min-1were observed. The influence？of plasma power and substrate temperature on the？deposition rate, structure and wettability of the as-deposited films was？investigated. It was observed that better hydrophobicity was obtained at high plasma power and in low temperature conditions. PHFBA thin films deposited on electrospun poly（acrylonitrile） fiber mats under such conditions resulted in superhydrophobic surfaces with？contact angle values greater than 150°.In？vitro cell studies using human epithelial cells demonstrated the non-toxic nature of the？plasma-polymerized PHFBA films.

Application of grey relational analysis based on Taguchi method for optimizing machining parameters in hard turning of high chrome cast iron

High chrome white cast iron is particularly preferred in the production of machine parts requiring high wear resistance. Although the amount of chrome in these materials provides high wear and corrosion resistances, it makes their machinability difficult. This study presents an application of the grey relational analysis based on the Taguchi method in order to optimize chrome ratio, cutting speed, feed rate, and cutting depth for the resultant cutting force (Fr) and surface roughness (Ra) when hard turning high chrome cast iron with a cubic boron nitride (CBN) insert. The effect levels of machining parameters on Fr and Ra were examined by an analysis of variance (ANOVA). A grey relational grade (GRG) was calculated to simultaneously minimize Fr and Ra. The ANOVA results based on GRG indicated that the feed rate, followed by the cutting depth, was the main parameter and contributed to respo ses. Optimal levels of parameters were found when the chrome ratio, cutting speed, feed rate, and cutting depth were 12%, 100m/min, 0.05mm/r, and 0.1mm, respectively, based on the multiresponse optimization results obtained by considering the maximum signal to noise (SIN) ratio of GRG. Confirmation results were verified by calculating the confidence level within the interval width.

Optimization of Neutrino Oscillation Parameters Using Differential Evolution

We show how the traditional grid based method for finding neutrino oscillation parameters m2 and tan 2θ can be combined with an optimization technique,Differential Evolution(DE),to get a significant decrease in computer processing time required to obtain minimal chi-square(χ2) in four different regions of the parameter *** demonstrate efficiency for the two-neutrinos *** this,the χ2 function for neutrino oscillations is evaluated for grids with different density of points in standard allowed regions of the parameter space of m2 and tan 2θ using experimental and theoretical total event rates of chlorine(Homestake),Gallex+GNO,SAGE,Superkamiokande,and SNO *** find that using DE in combination with the grid based method with small density of points can produce the results comparable with the one obtained using high density grid,in much lesser computation time.

Soil characterization of Tinaztepe region(Izmir/Turkey) using surface wave methods and nakamura(HVSR) technique

To determine the shear wave velocity structure and predominant period features of Tmaztepe in izmir, Turkey, where new building sites have been planned, active-passive surface wave methods and single-station microtremor measurements are used, as well as surface acquisition techniques, including the multichannel analysis of surface waves （mASW）, refraction microtremor （Remi）, and the spatial autocorrelation method （SPAC）, to pinpoint shallow and deep shear wave velocity. For engineering bedrock （V 〉 760 m/s） conditions at a depth of 30 m, an average seismic shear wave velocity in the upper 30 m of soil （AVs30） is not only accepted as an important parameter for defining ground behavior during earthquakes, but a primary parameter in the geotechnical analysis for areas to be classified by V30 according to the National Earthquake Hazards Reduction Program （NEHRP）. It is also determined that Z1.0, which represents a depth to V = 1000 m/s, is used for ground motion prediction and changed from 0 to 54 m. The sediment-engineering bedrock structure for Tmaztepe that was obtained shows engineering bedrock no deeper than 30 m. When compared, the depth of engineering bedrock and dominant period map and geology are generally compatible.

Simultaneous Determination of Amoxicillin, Lansoprazole, and Levofloxacin in Pharmaceuticals by HPLC with UV-Vis Detector

In this study,a specific and rapid high-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)method has been developed and validated for the simultaneous determination of amoxicillin,lansoprazole,and levofloxacin in *** was used as internal standard(IS)in the ***-Vis absorption spectra of the analytes and the IS were taken for the determination of suitable absorption wavelength of UV-Vis detector(diode array detector,DAD)in the HPLC instrument.A reverse-phase C18 column was used in the separation and determination of amoxicillin,lansoprazole,and levofloxacin together with the *** pharmaceutical analytes were quantified by the UV-Vis diode array detector in the HPLC using meOH-0.01 m CH_(3)COONH_(4)(70:30)as the mobile *** linear calibration curves of them were measured in the ranges of 15-40 mg/L,2.5-15.0 mg/L,and 7.5-20.0 mg/L for amoxicillin,lansoprazole,and levofloxacin,*** calibration correlations(R^(2):0.9942,0.9997,and 0.9974)were *** percentage recoveries of the amoxicillin,lan-soprazole,and levofloxacin in commercial pharmaceuticals were obtained as 105.5%,98.57%,and 102.5%,*** results showed that amoxicillin,lansoprazole,and levofloxacin together with paracetamol IS could be separated and determined simultaneously with low LOD and LOQ values using the proposed HPLC method.

Improved hydrogen storage properties of mgH_2 catalyzed with K_2NiF_6

In this study, the hydrogen storage properties of mgH-X wt% KNiF（X = 5, 10, 15, 20, and 50） were investigated for the first time. From the analysis of the onset desorption temperature and isothermal de/absorption kinetics, it was shown that mgH+ 5 wt% KNiFsample has the best performance. The 5wt% doped sample started to release hydrogen at about 260 °C, which was a reduction of about 95 °C and 157 oC compared with the as-milled and as-received mgH. In addition, the de/absorption kinetics of the mgH+ 5 wt% KNiFwere also improved significantly compared to the un-doped mgH. The apparent activation energy for hydrogen desorption exhibited the decrement from 167.0 k J/mol for as-milled mgHto 111.0 k J/mol with the addition of 5 wt% KNiF. moreover, the X-ray diffraction spectra displayed the formation of new phases of KF, KH, mgNi and mgNiHby doping the KNiFwith mgHafter the dehydrogenation and rehydrogenation processes. The scanning electron microscope results revealed that mgHdoped with 5 wt% KNiFdemonstrated the smallest particle size compared to the as-received and as-milled mgH. It is believed that the formation of in situ active species of KF, KH, and mgNi could provide a synergetic catalytic effect in enhancing the hydrogen sorption properties of mgH.
