Intraoperative complication rates in cataract surgery performed by resident trainees and staff surgeons in a tertiary eyecare center in Hungary

AIm: To compare the incidence of intraoperative complications during primary phacoemulsification(phaco) surgery between resident surgeons(residents) and staff surgeons(specialists) and to objectively determine the difficulty of stages in phaco surgery. mETHODs: This retrospective study included cases of phaco cataract surgery performed between January and December 2019. There were no exclusion criteria. For each patient, demographics, clinical history, case complexity, type of surgeon, and operative details were reviewed. Primary outcomes included intraoperative complication rates and the objective measure of difficulty in the steps of the surgery performed by residents and ***: A total of 3272 cases were included;7.4%(n=241) of cases were performed by residents. The overall complication rate was 5.4%(n=177). The intraoperative complication rate was significantly higher(Psidents(n=33, 13.7%) than in specialists(n=144, 4.8%). The most frequent complications were posterior capsule tear(n=85, 2.6%), anterior capsule tear(n=50, 1.53%), zonular fiber loss(n=45, 1.38%), and dropped nucleus(n=15, 0.46%). Objectively, the most difficult steps during surgery were phaco in 66(60.0%), capsulorhexis in 21(19.1%), irrigation/aspiration in 13(11.8%), hydrodissection in 9(8.2%), and intraocular lens(IOL) implantation in 1(0.9%) case. CONCLUsION: Intraoperative complication rates are higher in residents than in specialists. The order of objective difficulty in phaco surgery steps is in line with the subjective findings of other surveys, revealing that the most challenging parts of phaco surgery are phaco and capsulorhexis.

severe lithium intoxication requires intensive and prolonged hemodialysis as a definitive therapeutic measure. such an aggressive stand is often needed to prevent the post-dialytic rebound in plasma lithium levels as a result of the drug＇s relatively slow equilibration across cellular membranes. Use of a conventional, phosphorus-free, bicarbonate-based dialysis solution in the course of a dialytic treatment may engender hypophosphatemia in these individuals.

在欧洲,管材、型材以及板材的液压成形是密切相关的。液压成形产品主要是用于汽车工业批量生产的零件以及一些有独特用途的零件,其市场仍然在逐渐增长。目前轻量化制造、新型零件的高度功能集成化以及关于使用内高压件的不断积累的设计经验、理念,正影响着液压成形新技术的开发。由于可观的利润率,开放截面和闭合截面的铝合金型材的液压成形件正在试制,并在此背景下,开展了一些专用车面板的液压成形技术开发。这个利润率,将从半成品零件、成形中间过程,直到最终总成件整个工艺链来计算。从管材和板材的液压成形件来看,提高液压成形模具的功能集成性也是必须要做的工作。文章作者就内高压成形的模具设计以及功能集成给出了解决方案,并进一步讨论了内高压成形工艺的利润率。

A search for the rare decay B^(0)→J/ψФis performed using Pp collision data collected with the LHCb dete-ctor at centre-of-mass energies of 7,8 and 13 TeV,corresponding to an integrated luminosity of9 *** significant signal of the decay is observed and an upper limitof 1.1x 10^(-7)at 90%confidence level is set on the branching fraction.

VIEWING URBAN DIsRUPTIONs FROm A DECIsION INFORmATICs PERsPECTIVE

Urban infrastructures are the focus of terrorist acts because, quite simply, they produce the most visible impact, if not casualties. While terrorist acts are the most insidious and onerous of all disruptions, it is obvious that there are many similarities to the way one should deal with these willful acts and those caused by natural and accidental incidents that have also resulted in adverse and severe consequences. However, there is one major and critical difference between terrorist acts and the other types of disruptions： the terrorist acts are willful - and therefore also adaptive, if not coordinated. One must counter these acts with the same, if not more sophisticated, willful, adaptive and informed approach. Real-time, information-based decision making - which Tien （2003） has called the decision informatics paradigm - is the approach advanced herein to help make the right decisions at the various stages of a disruption. It is focused on decisions and based on multiple data sources, data fusion and analysis methods, timely information, stochastic decision models and a systems engineering outlook; moreover, it is multidisciplinary, evolutionary and systemic in practice. The approach provides a consistent way to address real-time emergency issues, including those concerned with the preparation for a major disruption, the prediction of such a disruption, the prevention or mitigation of the disruption, the detection of the disruption, the response to the disruption, and the recovery steps that are necessary to adequately, if not fully, recuperate from the disruption. The efforts of the U. s. Department of Homeland security and its academically-based Homeland security Centers of Excellence are considered within the proposed types, stages and decisions framework.

Quantal studies of sodium 3p ← 3s photoabsorption spectra perturbed by ground lithium atoms

The pressure broadening in the far wings, where the sodium Na(3 p ← 3 s) resonance line is perturbed by ground lithium Li(2 s) atoms, has been theoretically analyzed. The NaLi potential–energy curves and the transition dipole moments are constructed by using a reliable ab initio data points to carry out the reduced-absorption coefficients k_r(ν, T). This quantum-mechanical investigation have demonstrated that the NaLi profile spectra show a satellite future in the red wing at wavelength λ = 685 nm in the temperature range 4000 K–1.8 × 10~4 K. The computation could also exhibit a second satellite, in the blue wing, near the wavelength λ = 574 nm beyond 6000 K and a third peak located at λ = 490 nm which begins to appear at 1.8 × 10~4 K.

Novel delay-dependent stability analysis of Takagi-sugeno fuzzy uncertain neural networks with time varying delays

This paper presents the stability analysis for a class of neural networks with time varying delays that are represented by the Takagi^ugeno IT-s） model. The main results given here focus on the stability criteria using a new Lyapunov functional. New relaxed conditions and new linear matrix inequality-based designs are proposed that outperform the previous results found in the literature. Numerical examples are provided to show that the achieved conditions are less conservative than the existing ones in the literature.
