About 75% of all bladder cancer diagnosed are non-muscle invasive bladder cancer(nmIBC), recurring over 50% of them after transurethral resection of the bladder tumor. In order to prevent recurrences, adjuvant intravesical chemotherapy with mitomycin C and imm.n.therapy with bacillus Calmette-Gu-érin(BCG) is traditionally used. Unfortunately, m.n. patients relapse after receiving these treatm.n.s and a significant proportion of them require surgery. After a one-to-three years BCG maintenance, the risk for progression at 5 years was 19.3% for T1G3 tumors. m.n. new treatm.n. approaches are being investigated to increase the effectiveness of adjuvant intravesical therapy. One of the developing treatm.n.s for intermediate and high-risk nmIBC is the combination of intravesical chemotherapy and hyperthermia, called chemohyperthermia. This article provides a review of the mechanism of action, current status and indications, results and future perspectives.

The propagation of nonplanar quantum ion-acoustic solitary waves in a dense, unmagnetized electron-positronion （e-p-i） plasma are studied by using the Korteweg-de Vries （KdV） model. The quantum hydrodynamic （QHD） equations are used taking into account the quantum diffraction and quantum statistics corrections. The analytical and numerical solutions of KdV equation reveal that the nonplanar ion-acoustic solitons arc modified significantly with quantum corrections and positron concentration, and behave differently in different geometries.

Characterization of the negative carbon isotope shift in segm.n. C2,its global implications as a harbinger of OAEla

Lower Cretaceous C-isotope records show intermittent negative/positive spikes, and consistent patterns of coevalchemostratigraphic curves thus docum.n. shifts that signal simultaneous responses of temporal changes in the global carbon reservoir. The standard pattern registered by the δ13Corg and δ13Ccarb in Lower Aptian sedim.n.s includes distinct isotope segm.n.s C1 to C8 （m.n.gatti et al., 1998）. In the E1 Pui section, Organy Basin, Spain, C-isotope segm.n. C2 is the longest interval preceding segm.n.s C3-C6 associated with oceanic anoxic event la （OAE la）, and reveals a distinct negative shift of-1.8‰ to -2.23‰ defining the C-isotope pattern within that interval. Total inorganic carbon （TIC）, total organic carbon （TOC）, δ13Corg, microfacies, n-alkanes show no difference before, during, or after the negative inflection. The biomarkers indicate that organic matter （Om） mainly originates from algal/microbial sources because short-chain length homologues （〈 nCtg） dom.n.te, nC2o through nC25 indicate some contribution from aquatic vegetation, but little from higher plants （〉nC20, as also suggested by the terrestrial/aquatic ratio ofn-alkanes or （TAR） = [（nf27＋nf29＋nC31）/（nC15＋nCt7＋rlCt9）] （averages 0.085）. We suggest that conjoint pulses of contemporaneous LIPs （Ontong Java） and massive explosive volcanism in northeast Asia, the Songliao Basin （SB-V）, best conform to plausible causes of the negative intra-C2 carbon isotopic excursion （CIE） at that time. Because of its apparent comm.n.occurrence the intra-C2 inflection could be a useful marker harbinger to the more pronounced CIE C3, the hallmark of OAE 1 a.

The structure and magnetic properties of the YFe12-xTix compounds (x=0.85, 1.00, 1.10, 1.20 and 1.30) have been investigated. Both the thermomagnetic analysis and X-ray diffraction patterns show that all compounds studied are almost single phase and crystallize in the Thmn12-type structure. The lattice parameters a, c and unit cell volume V increase m.n.tonously with the increase of Ti content. Curie temperature Tc is almost independent on the Ti content while the spontaneous magnetization m0, the anisotropy field Ba and the anisotropy constant K1 decrease m.n.tonously with the increase of Ti content and the temperature increases from 1.5 K to 293 K.

Direct n2O decomposition has been investigated over bare niO and a series of its alkali-promoted catalysts. These catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffractometry, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS） and field emission scanning electron microscopy. XPS analysis revealed that surface nickel is present in three forms： metal particles, niO and ni（OH）2. It is suggested that nickel（0） valent atoms are essential for the interaction with n2O molecules at the catalyst surfaces. Bare niO exhibited a very low n2O decomposition reactivity. However, the alkali-containing catalysts exhibited a marked activity enhancem.n..

The Douglas-fir tussock moth Orgyia pseudotsugata (Lepidoptera: Lym.n.riidae) is a frequent defoliator of Douglas-fir and true firs in western USA and Canada. A single nucleopolyhedrovirus (SnPV) isolated from O. pseudotsugata larvae in Canada (OpSnPV) was previously analyzed via its polyhedrin gene, but is phylogenetic status was ambiguous. Sequences of four conserved baculovirus genes, polyhedrin, lef-8, pif-2 and dpol, were amplified from OpSnPV DnA in polymerase chain reactions using degenerate primer sets and their sequences were analyzed phylogenetically. The analysis revealed that OpSnPV belongs to group II nPVs and is most closely related to SnPVs that infect O. ericae and O. anartoides, respectively. These results show the need for multiple, concatenated gene phylogenies to classify baculoviruses.

The study of nanosecond dynamics of macromolecules with the lum.n.s-cent methods make it possible to investigate the formation and functioning of polymericcomplexes, polymeric conjugates and macromolecular metal complexes, which are widelyused for solving m.n. practical tasks. The nanosecond dynamics of macromolecules are ahighly sensitive indicator of interpolymer complexes (IPC) formation. It enables us to solvethe problems of studying IPC formation and stability and to investigate the interpolymerreactions of exchange and substitution. The investigation of changes in the rotational mo-bility of globular protein molecules as a whole makes it possible to determ.n. the complexcomposition and its stability, and to control the course of polymer-protein conjugate forma-tion reaction. The nanosecond dynamics of polymers interacting with surfacants' ions (S)are the sensitive indicator of the S-polymer complex formation. A method for determ.n.ing the equilibrium constants of the S-polymer complex formation was developed on thebasis of the study of polymer chains mobility. It is established that nanosecond dynamicsinfluences the course of chemical reactions in polymer chains. moreover, the marked effectof the nanosecond dynamics is also revealed in the study of photophysical processes (theformation of excimers and energy migration of electron excitation) in polymers with pho-toactive groups. It was found that the efficiency of both processes increases with increasingthe mobility of side chains, the carriers of photoactive groups.

A number of studies have been reported on the use of nanocrystalline plasma electrolytic nitrocarburising technology for surface hardening of stainless steels for higher corrosion resistance resulted from this technique. However, very few studies have focused on the optimization of the nanocrystalline plasma electrolytic nitrocarburising process parameters. In this study, a design of experim.n. （DOE） technique, the Taguchi method, has been used to optimize the nanocrystalline plasma electrolytic nitrocarburising not only for surface hardening but also for the corrosion protection of 316L austenitic stainless steel by controlling the coating processes factors. The experim.n.al design consisted of four factors （Urea concentration, electrical conductivity of electrolyte, voltage and duration of process）, each containing three levels. Potentiodynamic polarization measurem.n.s were carried out to determ.n. the corrosion resistance of the coated samples. The results were analyzed with related software. An analysis of the mean of signal-to-noise （S/n） ratio indicated that the corrosion resistance of nanocrystalline plasma electrolytic nitrocarburised 316L stainless steel was influenced significantly by the levels in the Taguchi orthogonal array. The optimized coating parameters for corrosion resistance are 1150 g/L for urea concentration, 360 mS/cm for electrical conductivity of electrolyte, 260 V for applied voltage, 6 m.n.for treatm.n. time. The percentage of contribution for each factor was determ.n.d by the analysis of variance （AnOVA）. The results showed that the applied voltage is the most significant factor affecting the corrosion resistance of the coatings.

Enhanced Photocatalytic Activity of n-doped Li_2VPO_6 Under Visible Light Irradiation

Substitutional doping of framework heteroatoms in photocatalysts is one ot the approaches tor harvesting visible light. The present work aims to utilize the visible light for photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutant by tailoring the bandgap energy of Li2VPO6 through nitrogen doping. Li2VPO6 and n-doped Li2VPO6 are prepared by solid- state method. These materials were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction, energy-dispersive spectra, Ram.n.spectra, UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectra （UV-Vis DRS）, and 31p mAS nmR. The absorption edge of n-doped Li2VPO6 iS shifted to longer wavelength region considerably. The photocatalytic activity was tested against the degradation of methylene blue. The higher visible light photocatalytic activity of n-doped Li2VPO6 compared to pristine Li2VPO6 was discussed. The catalysts are stable even after fourth cycle of photodegradation.
