Alagille syndrome(ALGs;OmIm#118450)is a highlyvariable,multi-systemic,autosomal dominant disorder,caused by mutations in the Jagged Canonical Notch Ligand 1(JAG1)gene(20p12.2)or in the Neurogenic locus notch homolog protein 2(NOTCH2)gene(1p13).^(1)It primarily affects the liver,heart,eyes,face,kidney,skin,vertebrae,and skeleton.^(1,2)The JAG1 gene has 26 exons and about 90%of the ALGs cases result from pathogenic variants in the JAG1 and around 7%of cases have deletions in chromosome 20 that include this gene.

Groundwater pollution by fluoride is one of the prime concerns of the world population due to its toxicity,which results in adverse health *** this paper,we review the current scenario of the fluoride contamination of groundwater in various countries across the globe and its impact on human *** the last decade,several newly affected regions have been reported all over the world,with more than 100 countries affected by fluoride contamination in groundwater(concentration exceeding the acceptable limit of 1.5 mg/L defined by the World Health Organization).Fluoride poisoning is mainly due to the unsupervised ingestion of products for dental and oral hygiene and over-fluoridated drinking *** is estimated that more than 200 million people from different countries are affected by fluoriderelated groundwater issues and health *** highest among these are from the countries in Africa(38),Asia(28),and Europe(24),followed by countries like south America(5),North America(3),and Australia(2).The source of fluoride in drinking water is primarily geogenic,together with forage,grasses and grains,tea,and anthropogenic *** countries affected were correlated with climatic zones and geological factors to gain insights into geospatial *** analyses show that most of the fluoride pollution-prone zones are located in high-grade metamorphic terranes with granitoid or alkaline intrusions,geothermal hot springs,and volcanic regions with arid or semi-arid climatic *** study also finds that children across the globe are more vulnerable than adults to fluoride *** review finds that,although there are efficient fluoride removal techniques,including filters with next-generation nanomaterials,to date,there has not been a single technique developed that can claim to be a practically robust solution for fluoride removal from drinking ***,we suggest developing next-generation filters that can retain essential miner

In this research,we focus on the free-surface deformation of a one-dimensional elastic semiconductor medium as a function of magnetic field and moisture *** problem aims to analyze the interconnection between plasma and moisture diffusivity processes,as well as thermo-elastic *** study examines the photothermoelasticity transport process while considering the impact of moisture *** employing Laplace’s transformation technique,we derive the governing equations of the photo-thermo-elastic *** equations include the equations for carrier density,elastic waves,moisture transport,heat conduction,and constitutive *** stresses,thermal conditions,and plasma boundary conditions are used to calculate the fundamental physical parameters in the Laplace *** employing numerical techniques,the Laplace transform is inverted to get complete time-domain solutions for the primary physical domains under ***,thermoelastic,and thermoelectric characteristics are employed in conjunction with a graphical analysis that takes into consideration the effects of applied forces on displacement,moisture concentration,carrier density,stress due to forces,and temperature distribution.

Graphene derivatives as efficient hole transport materials for lead-free double perovskite(CssnI) solar cells: a numerical study

The double perovskite Cs2snI6has notable optical and electrical characteristics， rendering it a highly prospective candidate for deployment as the absorber layer in perovskite solar cells (PsCs). We simulated the performance of PsCs using lead-free Cs2snI6double perovskite absorber layer and graphene derivatives， namely graphene oxide (GO) and reduced graphene oxide (rGO)， as hole transport layers (HTLs). Our findings show that rGO offers an excellent hole extraction property with minimal interfacial recombination compared to GO. PsC utilizing rGO as the HTL material achieved a power conversion efficiency of 19.07%， while those employing GO HTL attained only 16.9%. The superior performance of rGO is attributed to its greater charge carrier mobility of rGO and its favorable energy level alignment with the double perovskite absorber layer. In contrast， the mismatch in the charge transport properties between the absorber layer and the GO HTL resulted in poor performance. Our study showcases the potential of using graphene derivative-based HTLs for realizing lead-free PsCs.

Objective:To investigate the neuroprotective effect of C-phycocyanin in a mouse model of rotenone-induced Parkinson’s ***:C-phycocyanin(50 mg/kg,i.p.,daily)was administered to rotenone(30 mg/kg,p.o.,daily)treated mice for 28 *** studies(Y-maze,rotarod,round beam walk,and wire-hang tests)were carried out to assess neurobehavioral *** and malondialdehyde were determined in both serum and striatal *** proteins(AkT,AmPk,NF-κB,BDNF,and alpha-synuclein)in the striatum were estimated using *** analyses(hematoxylin and eosin stainning as well as Nissl staining)were carried out to assess structural abnormalities in the ***:C-phycocyanin significantly increased BDNF levels and decreased alpha-synuclein *** also slightly upregulated AmPk and AkT levels without significant difference compared with the rotenone ***,rotenone-induced elevated oxidative stress and structural abnormalities in the striatum were markedly mitigated by ***:C-phycocyanin might have potential neuroprotective effects against Parkinson’s *** studies are warranted to verify its efficacy and to understand the molecular mechanisms behind the neuroprotective effects of C-phycocyanin in Parkinson’s disease.

The spectrum of Nail Disorders in Patients with End-stage Renal Disease Undergoing Conservative Treatment: A Case-Control study

Objective: Various nail disorders have been reported in patients with chronic kidney disease. However, few studies have investigated nail disorders in patients with advanced chronic kidney disease. This study focused on nail disorders seen in patients with end-stage renal disease (EsRD) undergoing conservative treatment. methods: A case-control study was conducted at Baraha medical City in khartoum state, sudan. Data on patients with EsRD who were on conservative treatment and presented for follow-up between march and september 2021 were collected. Patients' demographic features, nail findings on clinical examination, and laboratory results were recorded. The obtained data were compared with those on age- and sex-matched healthy individuals from the general population. The chi-square test and student t test were performed to analyze categorical and numerical variables, respectively. Results: Data on 78 patients with EsRD were studied. Their mean age was 54.6 ± 17.6 years, and 45 (57.7%) were men. These patients were compared with 129 controls. Nail disorders were seen in 65 (83.3%) EsRD patients and 86 (66.6%) controls (P = 0.009). Patients with EsRD were found to be at increased relative risk of developing a wide spectrum of nail disorders. An absent lunula, half-and-half nails, nail dystrophy, Terry's nails, onychomycosis, and koilonychia were the most common disorders and were seen in 44 (56.4%), 13 (16.7%), 10 (12.8%), 9 (11.5%), 6 (7.7%), and 5 (6.4%) patients, respectively. Patients with EsRD had a statistically significant risk of developing above diseases (all P sion: The current study demonstrated a wide spectrum of nail disorders in patients with EsRD undergoing conservative treatment.
