modification of perlite using nano-magnetic iron oxide was implemented to produce nano-magneticFe3O4-coated perlite composite(Fe3O4/Perlite).The prepared composite was characterized using Scanning Electron microscopy,Fourier-Transform infrared spectroscopy and Powder X-ray *** potentiality of both perlite and Fe3O4/Perlite composite to eliminate Cr(Vi)from the environmentally relevant water was *** influence of main factors which could affect the adsorption was studied including;pH of medium,shaking time and Cr(Vi)ions *** experimental outcome demonstrated that the modification of perlite by nano-magnetic Fe3O4 showed a significantly enhanced Cr(Vi)removal efficiency relative to that of unmodified *** the kinetic studies,the experimental data fitted well with the pseudo-second-order ***,it proposes that Langmuir isotherm is more adequate than the Freundlich isotherm for both perlite and modified *** results recommended that Fe3O4/Perlite composite had a great potential as an economic and efficient adsorbent of Cr(Vi)from contaminated water,which has huge application potential.

in this work, a thorough examinations on the extractability of zinc and lead present in the steelmaking dusts using alkaline leaching process and the effectiveness of the zinc and lead separation in the resultant leaching solutions using sulfide precipitation method were made. it was found that only about 53% of zinc and over 70% of the lead could be leached out of the dusts, while the other 47% of zinc and 30% of lead were left in the leaching residues. The zinc and lead in the resultant leaching solution can be effectively and selectively separated. When the weight ratio of sodium sulfide (m.W. = 222-240) to Pb was kept at 1.8, the lead in the solution could be precipitated out quantitatively while all the zinc was remained in the solution. The zinc left in the solution can be further recovered by the addition of extra sodium sulfide with a weight ratio of sodium sulfide to the zinc over 2.6. The resultant filtrate can be recycled to the leaching of dust in the next leaching process.

The geometry and timing of amalgamation of the North China craton（NCC） have been controversial,with three main models with significantly different interpretations of regional structure,geochronology,and geological *** model of Zhao G C et *** that the eastern and western blocks of the NCC formed separately in the Archean,and an active margin was developed on the eastern block between 2.5 and 1.85 Ga,when the two blocks collided above an east dipping subduc-tion *** model of Kusky et *** that the eastern block rifted from an unknown larger continent at circa 2.7 Ga,and experienced a collision with an arc（perhaps attached to the western block） above a west-dipping subduction zone at 2.5 Ga,and the 1.85 Ga metamorphism is related to a collision along the northern margin of the craton when the NCC joined the Columbia *** model of Faure et *** two collisions in the central orogenic belt,at 2.1 and 1.88 *** seismic results support both the models of Kusky et *** Faure et al.,showing that subduction be-neath the central orogenic belt（COB） was west-directed,and that there is a second,west-dipping pa-leosubduction zone located to the east of the COB dipping beneath the western block（Ordos craton）.The boundaries identified through geophysics do not correlate with the boundaries of the Trans-North China orogen suggested in the Zhao et ***,and the subduction polarity is opposite that predicted by that *** seismic profiles are consistent with an Archean collision above a west-dipping sub-duction zone beneath the COB predicted by the models of Kusky et al.,and the second west-dipping subduction zone is consistent with the two events suggested in the Faure et ***.

Flood events are a recurrent threat to economic developments and can jeopardize human existence. in order to reduce the flood risks in Europe on a sustainable basis, the European Union adopted the Flood Risk management Directive in 2007. The implementation of the directive in the national laws of all member states has laid the foundation for intergovernmental integrated flood risk management on an European scale. The following article is intended to compare and briefly assess the implementation process on inland waters at the technical level in selected European countries in the middle of the process. it covers the different basic structural, methodological, and data conditions for preparing the preliminary flood risk assessment, the flood hazard maps, the flood risk maps, and the flood risk management plans as a result of two EU projects. The technical differences in the various European countries need to be reduced in the next cycles of implementation of the Flood Risk management Directive.

Separation of rare earth dements by solvent extraction has actually been widely used in various fields from analytical chemistry to hydrometallurgy. A representative ore sample obtained from Kadabora Batholiths-Eastern Desert of Egypt, containing the multiple oxides rare earth minerals： Samarskite, Fergusonite, Betafite, and Pyrochlore, was subjected to sulfuric acid leaching. Different sets of equilibrium loading experiments were carded out on a bench scale for the extraction of rare earths （cerium and yttrium） from the sulfate leach liquor using 8,9-dihydro[1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-a]quinazolin-6（TH）-one {TQ} dissolved in methylene chloride. Stripping was carded out by 20% sodium hydroxide. A rare earth cake was produced by oxalic acid precipitation. its purity reached 87.3%.

Coal chemical wastewater(CCW)with the features of high toxicity and poor biodegradability is a big issue in environmental remediation,posing a great threat to aquatic ecosystems and to human *** complex molecular mixtures are notoriously difficult to characterize without initial physical ***,we present the 3D diffusion ordered spectroscopy(DOSY)analysis for CCW using DOSY-COSY and DOSY-HSQC methods,the advantages of this strategy have been demonstrated in the analysis of mixtures of aliphatic oxygenates and aromatic compounds,before being implemented on a genuine CCW sample in this *** results showed that 3D DOSY is a robust and reliable tool for providing superior resolution and virtual separation of complex pollutants,and can be used as a general approach for structural elucidation.
