Review of construction and demolition waste management tools and frameworks with the classification,causes,and impacts of the waste

This review looks over the current construction and demolition waste management(C&DWm)situations by scrutinizing the definition,classification,components,compositions,generated sources and causes,impacts of generated construction and demolition wastes(C&DWs),waste management hierarchy(WmH),3R principles(Reduce,Reuse,and Recycle),Circular Economy(CE),frameworks,tools,and approaches of C&*** reviewing the literature this study contributes to the literature by the following means:(a)suitable working definitions of C&DW and C&DWm are provided,(b)an expanded WmH for construction and demolition operations is presented,(c)frameworks of C&DWm are identified and listed as follows:frameworks based on WmH,including 3R principles and CE concept,frameworks focusing on the quantification,estimation,and prediction of generated C&DW,frameworks focusing on effective and sustainable C&DWm,frameworks focusing economic,social,and environmental performance assessment,frameworks based on multi-criteria analysis(mCA),frameworks based on post-disaster recovery period,and other miscellaneous frameworks,and(d)four categories of tools utilized in C&DWm are identified and explained,namely,approaches employed in C&DWm,information technology(IT)tools employed in C&DWm,multi-criteria decision analysis(mCDA)tools employed in C&DWm,and C&DWm ***,this study also found that CE,and green rating system(GRS)are widely used approaches,Building Information modeling(BIm),Radio Frequency Identification(RFID),Geographic Information System,and Big Data are the extensively used IT tools,Analytical Hierarchy Process,FUZZY,TOPSIS(Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to the Ideal Solution),Weighted Summation,Elimination and Choice Expressing the Reality II,Elimination and Choice Expressing the Reality III,Evaluation of mixed Data,and REGImE(REG)are the widely used mCA tools in C&DWm,and Prefabricated Construction and modular Construction are broadly used C&DWm ***

This study introduces an innovative approach to optimize cloud computing job distribution using the Improved Dynamic Johnson Sequencing Algorithm(DJS).Emphasizing on-demand resource sharing,typical to Cloud Service Providers(CSPs),the research focuses on minimizing job completion delays through efficient task *** Johnson’s rule from operations research,the study addresses the challenge of resource availability post-task *** advocates for queuing models with multiple servers and finite capacity to improve job scheduling models,subsequently reducing wait times and queue *** Dynamic Johnson Sequencing Algorithm and the m/m/c/K queuing model are applied to optimize task sequences,showcasing their efficacy through comparative *** research evaluates the impact of makespan calculation on data file transfer times and assesses vital performance indicators,ultimately positioning the proposed technique as superior to existing approaches,offering a robust framework for enhanced task scheduling and resource allocation in cloud computing.

Application of Polygonum minus Extract in Enhancing Drought Tolerance in maize by Regulating Osmotic and Antioxidant System

Drought stress is a major factor affecting plant growth and crop yield *** extracts as natural biostimulants hold great potential to strengthen plants to overcome drought *** explore the effect of Polygonum minus extract(PmE)in enhancing drought tolerance in plants,a study was set up in a glasshouse environment using 10 different treatment *** foliar application were designed in CRD and effects were closely observed related to the growth,physiology,and antioxidant system changes in maize(Zea mays L.)under well-watered and drought *** seaweed extract(SWE)was used as a *** subjected to drought stress exhibited a significant reduction in fresh weight,dry weight,relative water content(RWC),and soluble sugar,but they stimulated the phenolic,flavonoid,proline,glutathione(GSH),malondialdehyde(mDA)and antioxidant enzyme(catalase,CAT;peroxidase,POD;superoxide dismutase,SOD)*** application of PmE improved fresh and dry weight(FW:33.1%~41.4%;DW:48.0%~43.1%),chlorophyll content(Chl b:87.9%~100.76%),soluble sugar(23.6%~49.3%),and soluble protein(48.6%~56.9%)as well as antioxidant enzyme activities(CAT and POD)compared to CK under drought *** decreasing the level of ***,the mitigating effect of PmE application with high concentration was more effective than those of *** study reveals that PmE could alleviate drought stress by regulating osmoprotectant content and antioxidant defense system and can be used as an economical and environmentally friendly biostimulants for promoting maize growth under drought stress.

In this technologically advancing world,the demand for more energy,oil and gas production is rapidly *** accomplish this,people have inclined more towards completely floating offshore structures,deployed in deep waters.A semi-submersible is selected in the present study,due to its better response characteristics and stability under harsh environmental *** semi-submersible is position restrain with spread mooring lines incorporated with submerged buoy at different locations has been studied.A detailed numerical analysis is carried out using Ansys Aqwa for dynamic response analysis of semi-submersible under the combination of wind,wave,and current forces for 0°,45°,and 90°*** was observed that damping ratios and natural periods had been affected based on the position and number of submerged buoys in the mooring ***,reduction in mooring force after incorporating buoy in the mooring lines was ***,a matlab code based on the S-N curve approach was generated and employed to investigate the fatigue damage of mooring lines under dynamic variation of mooring *** pegged with submerged buoys,fatigue life of mooring lines is increased under intact and postulated damaged mooring ***,coupling of motion responses of semi-submersible is observed,and unbounded response is not seen in any degrees-offreedom,even during damaged condition of mooring lines.

Simulation of Air Flow along Human Lung for Cylindrical Channel of Porous medium

The steady flow behavior in terminal bronchus of human lung for cylindrical channel of porous medium has been studied. The governing equations have been solved analytically and numerically for cylindrical channel. Finite difference method is incorporated to simulate the problem. The numerical results are compared with square duct channel for different parametric effect. It is observed that the flow rate is increased in cylindrical channel compared to square duct channel for the increasing value of pressure gradient, porosity and permeability. On the contrary, the flow rate is decreased in square duct channel compared to cylindrical channel for increasing value of viscosity. Flow rate in both channels is analyzed and compared for non-porous medium also. It is observed that flow rate is increased very high in cylindrical channel compared to square duct channel for both medium.

The rapid pace of technological evolution is reshaping the landscape of business operations,prompting organizations to invest substantially in digital innovations such as artificial intelligence(AI)to maintain ***,the banking sector has emerged as an early adopter of AI technologies,reflecting its proactive stance toward technological *** the banking industry navigates through accelerated technological shifts,this research endeavors to explore the intention of employees within the Pakistan banking sector to embrace *** upon qualitative interviews with banking personnel,grounded theory approach was employed to identify five critical factors shaping AI adoption: perceived usefulness,perceived ease of use,personal well-being concern,personal development concern,and top management ***,a conceptual model was proposed by extending the Technology Acceptance model(TAm)*** a quantitative approach,Structural Equation modeling(SEm)was applied to analyze data collected from a sample of 255 employees across multiple banks in *** findings underscore the direct impact of all identified factors on AI adoption,albeit with varying degrees of ***,personal development concern and personal well-being concern were found to exert a negative influence on employees' intention to adopt AI,aligning with the formulated *** findings hold significant implications for organizations seeking to assess their workforce's readiness for AI *** illuminating the key factors influencing AI adoption,this study provides valuable insights for organizations striving to navigate the evolving technological landscape effectively.

mechanical and Electrical Properties of Some Sn-Zn Based Lead-Free Quinary Alloys

Although there are many lead-free soldering alloys on the market, none of them have ideal qualities. The researchers are combining binary alloys with a variety of additional materials to create the soldering alloys’ features. The eutectic Sn-9Zn alloy is among them. This paper investigated the mechanical and electrical properties of Sn-9Zn-x (Ag, Cu, Sb);{x = 0.2, 0.4, and 0.6} lead-free solder alloys. The mechanical properties such as elastic modulus, ultimate tensile strength (UTS), yield strength (YS), and ductility were examined at the strain rates in a range from 4.17 10−3 s−1 to 208.5 10−3 s−1 at room temperature. It is found that increasing the content of the alloying elements and strain rate increases the elastic modulus, ultimate tensile strength, and yield strength while the ductility decreases. The electrical conductivity of the alloys is found to be a little smaller than that of the Sn-9Zn eutectic alloy.

Effective Elimination of Hazardous Chromium (VI) Using Periodic Elements and Contemporary Adsorption methods by Using magnesium Ferrite Nanoparticle: A Review

A well-known hazardous metal and top contaminant in wastewater is hexavalent chromium. The two forms of most commonly found chromium are chromate ( CrO 4 2− ) and dichromate ( Cr 2 O 7 2− ). Leather tanning, cooling tower blow-down, plating, electroplating, rinse water sources, anodizing baths etc. are the main sources of Cr (VI) contamination. The Cr (VI) is not only non-biodegradable in the environment but also carcinogenic to living population. It is still difficult to treat Cr contaminated waste water effectively, safely, eco-friendly, and economically. As a result, many techniques have been used to treat Cr (VI)-polluted wastewater, including adsorption, chemical precipitation, coagulation, ion-exchange, and filtration. Among these practices, the most practical method is adsorption for the removal of Cr (VI) from aqueous solutions, which has gained widespread acceptance due to the ease of use and affordability of the equipment and adsorbent. It has been revealed that Fe-based adsorbents’ oxides and hydroxides have high adsorptive potential to lower Cr (VI) content below the advised threshold. Fe-based adsorbents were also discovered to be relatively cheap and toxic-free in Cr (VI) treatment. Fe-based adsorbents are commonly utilized in industry. It has been discovered that nanoparticles of Fe-, Ti-, and Cu-based adsorbents have a better capacity to remove Cr (VI). Cr (VI) was effectively removed from contaminated water using mixed element-based adsorbents (Fe-mn, Fe-Ti, Fe-Cu, Fe-Zr, Fe-Cu-Y, Fe-mg, etc.). Initial findings suggest that Cr (VI) removal from wastewater may be accomplished by using magnesium ferrite nanomaterials as an efficient adsorbent.
