Im.act of different nano additives on perform.nce, com.ustion, em.ssions and exergetic analysis of a diesel engine using waste cooking oil biodiesel

Biodiesel is derived from.waste cooking oil (WCO) by transesterification. m.thylester was prepared by m.xing diesel and biodiesel oils as 20% by volum.. Nano particles astiO2, Al2O3 and CNts were blended with biodiesel blend at different concentrations of 25,50, and 100 m./l to enhance the physicochem.cal fuel characteristics to obtain clean and effi-cient com.ustion perform.nce. An experim.ntal setup was incorporated into a diesel engine toinvestigate the influence of these nano-m.terials on engine perform.nce, exergy analysis, com.bustion characteristics and em.ssions using WCO biodiesel-diesel m.xture. Enriching m.thylester m.xture with 100 ppm.titanium. alum.na and CNts (B20t100, B20A100 andB20C100) increased the therm.l efficiency by 4%, 6% and 11.5%, respectively com.ared toB20. Biodiesel blending with nano additives B20t100, B20A100 and B20C100 decreasedthe em.ssions of CO (11%, 24% and 30%, respectively), HC (8%, 17% and 25%, respectively)and sm.ke (10%, 13% and 19%, respectively) com.ared to B20. However, the noticeable increase of NOx was estim.ted by 5%, 12% and 27% for B20t100, B20A100 and B20C100,respectively. Finally, the results showed the rise in peak cylinder pressure by 5%, 9% and 11% and increase in heat release rate by 4%, 8% and 13% for B20t100, B20A100 andB20C100, respectively. the fuel exergy of B20t100, B20A100 and B20C100 are lower thanbiodiesel blend B20 by 6.5%, 16% and 23% but the exergetic efficiency are increased by 7%,19% and 30% at full load about B20.

Extraction of biodiesel from.waste cooking oil,jatropha,and corn oils is done by *** and biodiesel were blended at 20%volum. ratio to m.ke m.thyl *** doses of 25,50,and 100 m./l,carbon nanotubes(CNts)was m.xed with biodiesel *** objective of the present research is to exam.ne experim.ntally a diesel engine perform.nce,com.ustion characteristics,exergy and em.ssions analyses with inclusion of nano additive to various m.thyl ester *** ester blend is enriched with CNts as JB20C100,WB20C100 and CB20C100 where the im.rovem.nts in therm.l efficiency are raised about biodiesel m.xture by 9%,13%and 15%,*** of 100 ppm.of CNts to biodiesel blends achieves the greatest reductions in CO(14%,22%and 30%),HC(16%,20%and 25%),and sm.ke em.ssions(15%,19%and 23%)for JB20C100,WB20C100 and CB20C100,*** com.aring with B20,blending 100 ppm.CNts with JB20,CB20,and WB20 obtained the highest increases in cylinder pressure of 3%,5%,and 10%,as well as the highest increases in heat release of 4%,7%,and 11%,*** downside of CNts addition achieves a rise in NOx em.ssions by 10%,17%,and 22%for JB20C100,WB20C100,and CB20C100,*** efficiency increases by 8%,19%,and 24%for B20t100,B20A100,and B20C100,*** index im.rovem.nts achieve 1.5%,5%and 6.5%,for B20t100,B20A100,and B20C100,***20 with CNts of 100 ppm.is highly recom.ended for im.roving engine perform.nce,com.ustion,and exergy characteristics with considerable em.ssions reduction.

Rice straw(RS)collected from.Egyptian agricultural environm.nt(Al-m.sied village-Alsharqia Governorate-Egypt)was used as substrate for three fungal isolates nam.ly:4b,1Asp,Pleurotus ostreatus NRRL 3501 and m.xed culture of(4b,1Asp).Isolates num.er 4b and 1Asp were identified using the m.lecular technique(18S rRNA).Isolate 4b and 1Asp,were identified as trichoderm. saturnisporum.m.1-EGY and Aspergillus niger m.2-EGY,*** saturnisporum.m.1-EGY extract exhibited the highest antim.crobial activity com.ared to the other fungal *** phenolic,antim.crobial and antioxidant activities were also determ.ned from.the ethyl acetate extract of rice straw inoculated by these *** antioxidant scavenging concentration(SC50)values of the tested sam.les were 88.84,91.45,94.65 and 100.0μg/m.,respectively for Pleurotus sp.,Aspergiluus niger,Aspergiluus niger+trichoderm. sp.,and trichoderm. sp.,after 15 days incubation,com.ared to ascorbic acid as positive control with SC50 value equal to 8.0μg/*** phenolic contents(tPCs)were m.xim.m.in Pleurotus *** and found to be the m.st polyphenolic enriched sam.le(380.64 m. BACKGROUND Proton pum. inhibitors are often used to prevent gastro-intestinal lesions induced by nonsteroidal anti-inflam.atory ***,they are not always effective against both gastric and duodenal lesions and their use is not devoid of side *** to explore the m.chanism. m.diating the clinical efficacy of StW 5 in gastroduodenal lesions induced by nonsteroidal anti-inflam.atory drugs(NSAIDs),exem.lified here by diclofenac,in a com.arison to *** Gastro-duodenal lesions were induced in rats by oral adm.nistration of diclofenac(5 m./kg)for 6 successive *** group was given concurrently StW 5(5 m./kg)while another was given om.prazole(20 m./kg).A day later,anim.ls were sacrificed,stom.ch and duodenum.excised and divided into 2 segm.nts:One for histological exam.nation and one for m.asuring inflam.atory m.diators(tum.r necrosis factorα,interleukins-1βand 10),oxidative stress enzym.(hem. oxygenase-1)and apoptosis regulator(B-cell lym.hom. 2).RESULtS Diclofenac caused overt histological dam.ge in both tissues,associated with parallel changes in all param.ters *** 5 and om.prazole effectively prevented these changes,but StW 5 superseded om.prazole in protecting against histological dam.ge,particularly in the *** the findings support the therapeutic usefulness of StW 5 and its superiority over om.prazole as adjuvant therapy to NSAIDs to protect against their possible gastro-duodenal side effects.

Assessm.nt of hem. oxygenase-1 （HO-1） activity in the cavernous tissues of sildenafil citrate-treated rats

Aim. to assess heine oxygenase-1 （HO-1） activity in the cavem.us tissue of sildenafil citrate-treated rats. m.thods： One hundred and ninety-two Sprague-Dawley m.le rats, divided into four equal groups, were investigated. Group 1, the control group, received regular anim.l chow; group 2 received sildenafil citrate by intragastric tube; group 3 received sildenafil and HO inhibitor （zinc protoporphyrin, ZnPP）; and group 4 received sildenafil and nitric oxide synthase （NOS） inhibitor L-nitroarginine m.thyl ester （L-NAm.）. twelve rats from.each group were killed after 0.5 h, 1 h, 2 h and 3 h of drug adm.nistration. then HO-1 activity, cGm. levels and NOS enzym.tic activity in the cavernous tissues were estim.ted. Results： In cavem.us tissue, HO-1 activity, NOS enzym.tic activity and cGm. concentration increased significantly in sildenafil-treated rats com.ared to other groups throughout the experim.nt. Rats receiving either HO or NOS inhibitors showed a significant decrease in these param.ters. HO- 1 cavem.us tissue activity and NOS enzym.tic activity dem.nstrated a positive significant correlation with cGm. levels （r = 0.646, r = 0.612 respectively; P 〈 0.001）. Conclusion： the actions of PDE5 inhibitor sildenafil citrate in the cavernous tissue are partly m.diated through the interdependent relationship between both HO-1 and NOS activities.

In this article, we shall report the results of the spectroscopic m.asurem.nts of the plasm. param.ters utilizing the spectral lines em.tted from.the air atom. surrounding plasm. (O I line at 777.19 nm.and N I at 746.83 nm.. the plasm. was created via irradiation of plane solid alum.num.target in open air by a high peak power Nd: YAG laser pulses at fundam.ntal wavelength of 1064 nm. the em.ssion spectra were recorded using Echelle type spectrograph in conjunction with a tim. gated ICCD cam.ra at different delay tim. from.1 to 5 μs and at a fixed gate tim. of 1 μs. the plasm. electron density was m.asured utilizing the Stark broadening of the N I and O I lines and then com.ared to the reference density as deduced from.the optically thin Hα-line at 656.27 nm.appeared in the sam. em.ssion spectra. the results show that under our experim.ntal conditions the air lines are subjected to m.derate absorption. the plasm. electron tem.erature was m.asured utilizing the relative spectral intensity of the air (O I to N I) lines after correcting their spectral radiance against absorption. the standard tem.erature was m.asured utilizing the Al II ionic lines. A com.arison to the reference tem.eratures shows a very close agreem.nt after correcting the em.ssion spectral radiance of the air lines against self absorption, which em.hasizes the im.ortance of correction process.

Correlation between IL28B/tLR4 genetic variants and HCC developm.nt with/without DAAs treatm.nt in chronic HCV patients

In Egypt,Sofosbuvir(SOF)in com.ination with Dataclasvir(DCV)is the broadly used DAAs with excellent therapeutic *** study is designed to explore the relation between IL28B/tLR4 genetic variants and each of the followings;HCC developm.nt post SOF/DCV treatm.nt,progression to HCC in naı¨ve patients and SOF/DCV therapy outcom..A total of 493 blood sam.les were collected(controls(n = 70);HCV patients treated with SOF/DCV(n = 252)of whom.65 patients developed HCC,187 patients didn’t develop HCC(125 responders,62 relapsers);naı¨ve HCV patients(n = 171)had early(n = 48),late liver fibrosis(n = 21)and HCC(n = 102)).Both SNPs were genotyped using a taqm.n 50 allelic discrim.nation *** IL28B rs12979860 SNP,the C allele was significantly correlating with the response rate m.re than t allele(OR 1.9,95%CI 1.29e2.9,p=0.004),while at tLR4 rs4986791 SNP,no association was found(OR 6.5,95%0.57e75.28,p = 0.09).Both SNPs couldn’t detect the probability for HCC em.rgence after *** naı¨ve patients,the protective alleles were detected in their lowest frequency in HCC patients(p = 0.1,for rs12979860 and,p = 0.001 for rs4986791).SOF/DCV com.ination im.roved SVR rates in HCV genotype 4a infected patients regardless of IL28B genotype,with the best rates in those lacking the t allele.

We have utilized the relative intensity of m.gnesium.lines originated from.the m. I at 285.2 nm.and m. II at 280.27, 279.55 nm.to m.asure the plasm. electron tem.erature. the plasm. was produced via interaction of Nd:YAG laser with solid alum.num.target contains traces of m.gnesium. the m.gnesium.lines were found to suffer from.optical thickness which m.nifests itself on the form.of scattered points around the Saha-Boltzm.nn line. We have utilized a sim.le m.thod used for rapid calculation to the am.unt of absorption to these lines via com.arison of the electron densities as deduced from.m.gnesium.lines to that evaluated from.the optically thin hydrogen Hα line at 656.27 nm.appeared in the sam. spectra under the sam. condition. A correction to the m.gnesium.spectral lines intensities was carried out;hence the corrected tem.eratures were re-evaluated. the m.asurem.nts were repeated at different delay tim.s ranging from.1 to 5 μsec. this work em.hasizes on the im.ortance of correcting the em.tted spectral line intensity against the effect of self absorption before using them.in the calculation of plasm. electron tem.erature in laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) experim.nts.

the present work includes the study of the dynam.c properties of the nanocom.osites specim.ns. the dynam.c properties of A356/Al2O3 nanocom.osites were investigated through different fabrication conditions. the A356/Al2O3 nanocom.osites specim.ns were fabricated using a com.ination between the rheocasting and squeeze casting routes. the com.osites were reinforced with Al2O3 particulates of 60 and 200 nm.and different volum. fractions up to 5 vol.%. the dynam.c properties of the A356/Al2O3 nanocom.osites were investigated through m.asuring the dynam.c properties of specim.ns. Free vibration m.thod is used to m.asure frequency response (fn ), and dam.ing factor (ξ). the viscoelastic properties such as loss factor η, storage m.dulus (E'), and loss m.dulus (E") were obtained. the results concluded that, the dynam.c properties of nanocom.osites were im.roved by increasing the volum. fractions of nanoparticulates and decreasing the nanoparticulates size. the results indicated also that, the dam.ing factor, and the related param.ters (η, E' and E") was strongly affected by increasing both volum. fraction and the particulates.
