An efficient technology of im.regnation of carbonate crush.d stone by oil-product based on SCF-im.regnation process usage with propane/butane solvent was developed. Regular im.regnation throughout the volum. of crush.d stone sam.le is achieved. As a result of the appliance of proposed technology, the hum.dity of the treated crush.d stone sam.les decreased down to 0.54%.

Using genom.c in-situ hybridization (GIsh. technique, 7 translocation-addition lines, 6 transloca-tion and translocation-addition lines, 2 ditelosom.c addition lines and 1 translocation line were identified from.Triticum.aestivum.L.-Psathyrostachys juncea (Fisch. ) Nevski intergeneric hybrids, of which translocation-addition and translocation and translocation-addition lines were not found in other reports. No substitutions and disom.c additions were detected in the hybrids and breakages occurred in all P. juncea chrom.som.s studied. Results have sh.wn that the im.roved GIsh.technique is a rapid and econom.cal m.thod for use in this field.

The effect of decum.enones A (1), B (2) and C (3) from.the m.rine-derived strain of the fungus Aspergillus sulphureus on the growth of seedling roots of buckwheat, wheat, barley and corn at the concentration range 10﹣5 - 10﹣18 m.was studied. It was sh.wn that decum.enone B had a stim.latory effect on the growth of seedling roots of buckwheat, decum.enone A—on the growth of seedling roots of spring soft wheat, decum.enone C—on the growth of seedling roots of spring barley, decum.enone A, B and C —on the growth of seedling roots of corn. The stim.latory effect for som. substances was sh.wn at ultra-low concentrations 10﹣12 - 10﹣18 m. It is possible to recom.end decum.enones A, B and C for studying in field conditions as growth factors of buckwheat, wheat, barley and corn.

To achieve CO2 em.ssions reductions, the UK Building Regulations require developers of new residential buildings to calculate expected CO2 em.ssions arising from.their energy consum.tion using a m.thodology such as Standard Assessm.nt Procedure （SAP 2005） or, m.re recently SAP 2009. SAP encom.asses all dom.stic heat consum.tion and a lim.ted proportion of the electricity consum.tion. However, these calculations are rarely verified with real energy consum.tion and related CO2 em.ssions. This work presents the results of an analysis based on weekly heat dem.nd data for m.re than 200 individual fiats. The data were collected from.a recently built residential developm.nt connected to a district heating network. A m.thod for separating out the dom.stic hot water （DHW） use and space heating （sh. dem.nd has been developed and these values are com.ared to the dem.nd calculated using SAP 2005 and SAP 2009 m.thodologies. The analysis also sh.ws the variation in DHW and sh.consum.tion with size of flats and with tenure （privately owned or social housing）. Evaluation of the space heating consum.tion also includes an estim.te of the heating degree day （HDD） base tem.erature for each block of fiats and com.ares this to the average base tem.erature calculated using the SAP 2005 m.thodology.

In this study, the effects of halloysite nanotubes （HNTs） reinforcem.nt in expandable graphite based intum.scent fire retardant coatings （IFRCs） developed using a polydim.thylsiloxane （PDm.）/phenol BA epoxy system.were investigated. Intum.scent coating form.lations were developed by incorporating different weight percentages of HNTs and PDm. in basic intum.scent ingredients （am.onium.polyphosphate/m.lam.ne/boric acid/expandable graphite, APP/m.L/BA/EG）. The perform.nce of intum.scent form.lations was investigated by furnace fire test, Bunsen burner fire test, field em.ssion electron m.croscopy （FESEm., therm.gravim.tric analysis （TGA）, transm.ssion electron m.croscopy （TEm., and Fourier transform.infrared analysis （FTIR）. The Bunsen burner fire test results indicated that the fire perform.nce of HNTs and PDm. reinforced intum.scent form.lation has im.roved due to the developm.nt of silicate network over the char residue. Im.roved expansion in char residue was also noticed in the form.lation, sh.3）, due to the m.nim.m.decom.osition of char carbon. FESEm.and TEm.results validated the developm.nt of silicate network over char layer of coating form.lations. A considerable m.ss loss difference was noticed during therm.l gravim.tric analysis （TGA） of intum.scent coating form.lations. Reference form.lation, sh.0） with no filler, degraded at 300 ~C and lost 50% of its total m.ss but sh.3）, due to synergistic effects between PDm. and HNTs, degraded above 400 ~C and sh.wed the m.xim.m.therm.l stability. XRD analysis sh.wed the developm.nt of therm.lly stable com.ound m.lltie, due to the synergism.of HNTs and siloxane during intum.scent reactions, which enhanced fire perform.nce. FTIR analysis sh.wed the presence of incorporated siloxane and silicates bonds in char residue, which endorsed the toughness of intum.scent char layer produced. m.reover, the synergistic effect ofHNTs, PDm., and other basic intum.scent ingredients enhanced the polym.r cross-linking in binder system.an

AIm.To investigate the m.chanism. involved in a possible m.dulator role of interleukin(IL) -6 signalling on CYR61-CTGF-NOV(CCN) 2/connective tissue growth factor(CTGF) expression in hepatocytes(PC) and to look for a relation between serum.concentrations of these two param.ters in patients with acute inflam.ation. m.THODS:Expression of CCN2/CTGF,p-STAT3,p-Sm.d 3/1 and p-Sm.d2 was exam.ned in prim.ry fresh.y isolated rat or cryo-preserved hum.n PC exposed to various stim.li by Western blotting,electrophoretic m.bility sh.ft assay(Em.A) ,reporter-gene-assays and reversetranscriptase polym.rase chain reaction. RESULTS:IL-6 strongly down-regulated CCN2/CTGF protein and m.NA expression in PC,enhanceable by extracellular presence of the soluble IL-6 receptor gp80,and supported by an inverse relation between IL-6 and CCN2/CTGF concentrations in patients'*** inhi-bition of TGFβ1 driven CCN2/CTGF expression by IL-6 did not involve a m.dulation of Sm.d2(and Sm.d1/3) ***,the STAT3 sh. dom.in binding peptide,a selective inhibitor of STAT3 DNA binding activity,counteracted the inhibitory effect of IL-6 on CCN2/CTGF expression m.ch m.re pronounced than pyrrolidine-dithiocarbam.te,an inhibitor prim.rily of STAT3 *** Em.A confirm.d STAT3 binding to the proposed proxim.l STAT binding site in the CCN2/CTGF prom.ter. CONCLUSION:CCN2/CTGF is identified as a hepatocellular negative acute phase protein which is downregulated by IL-6 via the STAT3 pathway through interaction on the DNA binding level.
