Spinel cubic ferrites have huge applications in m. m.ry and high frequency *** the im.rovem.nt of these m.dern devices,the m.gnetic coercivity,perm.ability,and dielectric properties of a ferrite are the im.ortant *** article focuses on im.roving the m.gnetic coercivity,m.gnetic perm.ability,and dielectric properties of Co_(0.2)Zn_(0.3)Ni_(0.5)Eu_(x)Fe_(2-x)O_(4) ferrites,where x=0.00,0.06,and *** X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform.infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),field em.ssion scanning electron m.croscopy(FESEm.,energy dispersive X-ray(EDX),vibrating sam.le m.gnetom.ter(VSm.,and an im.edance analyzer were used to characterize the structural,m.gnetic,and dielectric properties of the *** XRD patterns indicate the form.tion of spinel cubic structure of the sam.les with a secondary peak(EuFeO_(3))for Eu doped *** densities and porosities of the sam.les follow an inverse trend,where the doped sam.les’lattice param.ters are increased with the increm.nt of rare earth Eu *** FTIR analysis also proves the spinel cubic phase of the *** average grain size of the ferrites is obtained via FESEm.im.ges,and it is increased from.121 to 198 *** analysis confirm. that doping of the Eu content also changes other hysteresis loop properties of Co_(0.2)Zn_(0.3)Ni_(0.5)Eu_(x)Fe_(2-x)O_(4) ***,the coercivity of the Eu doped sam.les is greater than that of the m.ther alloy(x=0.00).The EDX study shows that there is no im.urity contam.nation in the *** perm.ability and dielectric m.asurem.nts show an im.roved quality factor of the Eu-doped sam.les with low m.gnetic and dielectric *** dependent resistivity and im.edance analysis also show the im.roved *** the observed properties of the sam.les,all the investigated ferrites m.ght be strong candidates for potential applications in m.m.ry devices,m.gnetic sensors,and high frequency applications.

We investigate the phenom.non of pair production of m.ssive scalar particles with m.gnetic charge near the horizon of a m.gnetized dyonic Reissner-Nordstrom.black *** intrinsic sym.etry between the electric and m.gnetic quantities in the Einstein-m.xwell equations suggests that the pair can be generated through Hawking radiation and the Schwinger effect,provided that the Dirac quantization condition is satisfied.

A new technique for correction of iatrogenic upper eyelid retraction by using a com.osite flap of the orbicularis m.scle and fascia on the anterior surface of the tarsal plate

Background: Upper eyelid retraction is a challenging com.lication of cosm.tic upper eyelid blepharoplasty. To avoid extra traum., we developed a new technique for correcting iatrogenic upper eyelid retraction by post-m.grating a com.ound flap of the orbicularis m.scle and fascia (OFC) on the anterior surface of the tarsal plate. This m.thod extends the aponeurosis of the levator palpebrae superioris m.scle (LPS), which can achieve a good correction for post-blepharoplasty retraction. m.thods: We collected data from.15 patients with m.ld to m.derate iatrogenic upper eyelid retraction who were treated at our hospital between February 2017 and Decem.er 2019. The OFC was used to replace the m.ssing part of the LPS, and post-m.gration of the LPS and fixation of the OFC to the tarsal m.rgin were conducted. Postoperative outcom. m.asurem.nts included postoperative binocular sym.etry, double eyelid sm.othness, eyelid fullness, m.rgin reflex distance (m.D1), degree of eyelid closure, and exposure keratitis. The patients were followed-up at seven days, one m.nth, and six m.nths postoperatively. Results: One patient with m.derate eyelid retraction showed undercorrection 6 m.nths postoperatively, with the upper eyelid m.rgin located at the upper edge of the pupil. The rem.ining patients had the upper eyelid m.rgin stabilized at 1.0–2.0 m. below the upper corneal m.rgin. Other observational indicators were satisfactory, including binocular sym.etry, double eyelid fluency, and eyelid fullness. During the follow-up, no exposure keratitis was identified. The m.D1 indexes after the operation were significantly different (Pm.those before the procedure. Conclusions: Extension and post-m.gration of the LPS using the orbicularis m.scle and OFC structure can effectively correct m.ld iatrogenic eyelid retraction after ptosis with less dam.ge and good postoperative eyelid m.rphology and closure function. © 2024 China m.dical Cosm.tology Press Co. Design of antiviral AGO2-dependent short hairpin RNAs

The increasing em.rgence and re-em.rgence of RNA virus outbreaks underlines the urgent need to develop effective antivirals. RNA interference (RNAi) is a sequence-specific gene silencing m.chanism.that is triggered by sm.ll interfering RNAs (siRNAs) or short hairpin RNAs (shRNAs), which exhibits significant prom.se for antiviral therapy. AGO2-dependent shRNA (agshRNA) generates a single-stranded guide RNA and presents significant advantages over traditional siRNA and shRNA. In this study, we applied a logistic regression algorithm.to a previously published chem.cally siRNA efficacy dataset and built a m.chine learning-based m.del with high predictive power. Using this m.del, we designed siRNA sequences targeting diverse RNA viruses, including hum.n enterovirus A71 (EV71), Zika virus (ZIKV), dengue virus 2 (DENV2), m.use hepatitis virus (m.V) and severe acute respiratory syndrom. coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), and transform.d them.into agshRNAs. We validated the perform.nce of our agshRNA design by evaluating antiviral efficacies of agshRNAs in cells infected with different viruses. Using the agshRNA targeting EV71 as an exam.le, we showed that the anti-EV71 effect of agshRNA was m.re potent com.ared with the corresponding siRNA and shRNA. m.reover, the antiviral effect of agshRNA is dependent on AGO2-processed guide RNA, which can load into the RNA-induced silencing com.lex (RISC). We also confirm.d the antiviral effect of agshRNA in vivo. Together, this work develops a novel antiviral strategy that com.ines m.chine learning-based algorithm.with agshRNA design to custom.design antiviral agshRNAs with high efficiency. © 2024 The Authors

Hem.tological m.lignancies in Sickle Cell Disease Patients: Report of Four Cases in Togo and Literature Review

Background: Hem.pathies were rarely observed in m.jor sickle cell disease patients som. thirty years ago, probably due to the high m.rtality rate am.ng the latter as a result of progressive com.lications. Thanks to advances in the m.nagem.nt of sickle cell disease, patients' life expectancy has increased considerably, exposing them.m.re frequently to neoplasia, including hem.tological m.lignancies. The increased risk of leukem.genesis is m.ltifactorial and linked to the pathophysiological m.chanism. of the clinical m.nifestations of sickle cell disease. Study Setting: The clinical haem.tology departm.nt of cam.us teaching hospital and the paediatric onco-haem.tology unit of Sylvanus Olym.io teaching hospital in Lom. were used as study settings. Observations: Four hem.tologic m.lignancies were collected in a cohort of 5847 m.jor sickle cell syndrom.s. The m.dian age of the patients was 31.25 years (extrem.s: 14 and 58 years) and they were predom.nantly fem.le (sex ratio m.F = 0.25). Two were on background therapy with hydroxyurea. Am.ng the four patients, there were two cases of acute lym.hocytic leukem.a, including ALL3 in a 58-year-old SS wom.n and T-ALL2 in a 12-year-old SC. Then, a case of lym.hocytic lym.hom. in a 20-year-old SS m.n was reported and finally a case of chronic m.elocytic leukem.a in a 33-year-old wom.n of Sβ+ thalassaem.a phenotype. Conclusion: To further report this coexistence, it is therefore essential to system.tically consider hem.tological m.lignancies during m.jor sickle cell syndrom.s even if there are sim.larities in the sym.tom.tology of these two serious pathological situations.

Background: The treatm.nt of brain m.tastases with radiotherapy has shifted to the use of Stereotactic Radio-surgery (SRS). The technical issue of expanding the treatm.nt volum. around the Gross Tum.r Volum. (GTV) is a current debate. Radiotherapy centers use variable GTV-PTV m.rgins, ranging from.one to 2 m.. m.terial and m.thods: We perform.d a dosim.tric com.arison in plans of twenty patients using three m.rgins: PTV zero, PTV1, and PTV2. We also developed im.ginary Peel volum.s. These volum.s are described as follows: Peel1 = PTV1 − GTV, Peel2 = PTV2 − GTV. Results: Our results showed that the m.an PTV volum. differed significantly across the different m.rgins (p = 0.000). The V12 of the brain significantly varied as a function of PTV m.rgin (p = 0.000). The target coverage and plan quality indices were not significantly different. The Peel volum. dosim.tric analysis showed that the m.an dose was significantly higher in the nearby norm.l brain tissue: Peel1 (p = 0.022) and Peel 2 (p = 0.013). Conclusion: According to our dosim.tric analysis, expanding the GTV into a PTV by 1 m. m.rgin is m.re convenient than 2 m..

Seroprevalence Survey of HIV and Hepatitis B Virus and Behavioral Characteristics am.ng Heavy Truck Drivers along Port Sudan-Khartoum.Highways

The prevalence of hum.n im.unodeficiency virus (AIDS) and hepatitis B virus am.ng heavy truck drivers and their assistants has been well docum.nted globally in correlation with their behavioral characteristics. The present study aim.d to screen for hum.n im.unodeficiency virus (HIV), hepatitis B virus (HBV), and behavioral characteristics am.ng heavy truck drivers in Port Sudan. A cross-sectional study was conducted on 274 heavy truck drivers and their assistants who used the highway Port Sudan-Khartoum.in Port Sudan city during 2019-2021. Data on behavioral characteristics and substance use habits were collected using a structured questionnaire, and an ELISA test was used to screen for HIV and HBV infections in the study participants. The chi-square test, odds ratio, and confidence intervals were used to find the association between behavioral characteristics and seropositive HIV/HBV. Of the 274 enrolled participants, the seroprevalence rates of HIV were 2.7% and HBV was 23.7%. Ninety-four (34.3%) of them.had a history of high-risk sexual behavior outside of m.rriage;only two (0.7%) used condom.;14.2% of participants reported alcohol use;and 1.1% reported drug use. Univariate analysis revealed that having a sex history outside of m.rriage with ≥1 sex partner and never using a condom.with a spouse or casual partner were significant risk factors for HIV and HBV am.ng drivers. Fortunately, we found that m.st of the drivers reported low alcohol and drug use. Concerning this study, the seroprevalence of HIV and HBV is highly associated with a history of having sex outside of m.rriage and sexual behavior am.ng truck drivers and assistances. Additional studies are needed to further investigate other STIs and behavioral characteristics associated with factors in truck drivers/assistance in different truck stop regions in Sudan.
