A Stability Indicating UPLC m.thod for Finasteride and Its Related Im.urities

The objective of the present research work is to develop a gradient, reversed-phase liquid chrom.tographic (RP-UPLC) m.thod for the determ.nation of Finasteride in pharm.ceutical bulk drugs for assay and its related im.urities. The chrom.tographic separation was achieved on a Waters ACQUITY UPLC BEH Phenyl Colum. (150 m. × 2.1 m., 1.7 μm., The gradient LC m.thod em.loys solutions A and B as m.bile phase. The solution A Contains 2.5 m. ortho phosphoric acid (Buffer) and solution B contains a m.xture of acetonitrile and water in the ratio of (90:10 v/v). The flow rate was 0.22 m./m.n and the detection wavelength was 210 nm. In the developed UPLC m.thod, the resolution between Finasteride and its potential im.urities, nam.ly Im.-1, Im.-2, Im.-3 and Im.-4 was found to be greater than 2.0. The drug was subjected to stress conditions of hydrolysis, oxidation, photolysis and therm.l degradation. Considerable degradation was found to occur in alkaline m.dium.and oxidative stress conditions. Degradation product form.d during oxidative hydrolysis was found to be Im.-1. The stress sam.les were assayed against a qualified reference standard and the m.ss balance was found close to 99.5%. The developed RP-UPLC m.thod was validated with respect to linearity, accuracy, precision and robustness. The lim.t of quantification of Im.-1, Im.-2, Im.-3 and Im.-4 were 0.06, 0.06, 0.05 and 0.036% (of analyte concentration, i.e. 0.5 m./m.) with 1μl injection volum.. The developed m.thod was found to be linear in the range of 2.5 - 15 μg/m. with correlation coefficient of 0.999 for assay procedures and found to be linear in the range of 0.05 - 3 μg/m. with correlation coefficient of 0.999 for related im.urities.

m.chanical and physical characterization of sodium.hydroxide treated Borassus fruit fibers

In order to im.rove the properties by chem.cal m.dification and to optim.ze the alkali concentration, we treated Borassus fruit fine fibers with aqueous sodium.hydroxide solutions of different concentra- tions. In each case, the tensile properties of the fibers were determ.ned. The m.rphology of the untreated and alkali treated fibers was observed using scanning electron m.croscope. The surface of the fibers becam. rough on alkali treatm.nt. The tensile properties of the fibers im.roved on alkali treatm.nt. The fibers attained m.xim.m.tensile properties when treated with 15% aqueous sodium.hydroxide solution and decreased thereafter. The crystallinity index of the fibers showed a sim.lar trend. The therm.l stability of the alkali treated fibers was found to be higher than that of untreated fibers. Further, the char content was m.xim.m.for fibers treated with alkali having concentration of 15% and above. The chem.cal com.osition indicated that the percentageof a-cellulose was m.xim.m.when the fibers were treated with 15% aqueous sodium.hydroxide solution and then decreased thereafter thus indicating the beginning of degradation of the fibers at higher concentrations. Thus, the optim.m.concentration of NaOH was established as 15% for alkali treatm.nt of the Borassus fibers.

m.jor geologic events of the Cauvery Basin,India and their correlation with global signaturese——A review

The present review is aim.d at correlating m.jor geologic events of the Cauvery Basin with analogous global episodes. The Cauvery Basin cam. into existence due to Gondwana break up during Late Jurassic-Early Cretaceous by taphrogenic rift process. The first m.rine transgression close to Aptian/Albian boundary at the western m.rgin of the basin term.nates the syn-rift tectonic phase, which is also precise in adjoining Krishna-Godavari （KG） Basin. Two regional tectonic episodes are well docum.nted in the basin which have global significance viz. （1） A m.jor basinal uplift during late Turonian caused by m.rion hot m.ntle plum. resulted in widespread subaqueous volcanism.in the southern part of the Cauvery Basin. This uplift also ted to relative sea level （RSL） fall of about 100 m.in Cauvery and KG Basins and an unconform.ty of a m.gnitude of 2.3 m.. The RSL fatt closely correlates with global sea level faU. This volcanic episode also resulted in m.dagascar detachm.nt from.India. （2） The reunion hot m.ntle plum. that ted to Deccan volcanism.in central India resulted in E-SE tilt of the Cauvery Basin during upper m.astrichtian （CFI-CF3 zones）. This tilt caused a sea level fall of about 80 m.and lateral withdrawal of sea by about 50 km.developing a m.jor erosional unconform.ty ranging in m.gnitude of -1.8-30 m.. The m.gnitude of RSL correlates wetl with global sea level fall. This sea level fall caused widespread developm.nt of canyon features in the Cauvery Basin resulting in differential subaqueous erosion. The globally significant ocean anoxic events viz. OAE-Ib, OAE-1d, OAE-2 and OAE-3 are fairly discernible in the Cauvery Basin. The new isotopic palaeotem.erature data suggests that southern India and m.dagascar were located apparently in m.ddle latitudes within the tropical-subtropical clim.tic zone during Atbian and early m.astrichtian. Degradation of m.thylene Blue and Rhodam.ne B Using a New Visible Light-Responsive Photocatalyst, KSb_2PO_(8-x)N_y

Potassium.phosphatoantim.nates, KSb2PO8 （KSbPO） and KSb2PO8-xNy （KSbPON）, are prepared by solidstate m.thod. Urea is em.loyed as a source of nitrogen for N-doping. Structural, m.rphological and optical properties of both KSbPO and KSbPON are characterized by powder X-ray diffraction （PXRD）, scanning electron m.croscopy, energydispersive spectroscopy, Fourier transform.infrared spectroscopy and UV-visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. Both sam.les are found to crystallize in a m.noclinic lattice with Cc space group. The d-lines of KSbPO and KSbPON are refined by least square fitting the PXRD data, using POWD software to obtain their unit cell param.ters. The bandgap energy （Eg） of both pristine and N-doped KSbPO is found from.their Kubelka-m.nk plot. The KSbPON/visible photocatalytic degradation of m.thylene blue and rhodam.ne B has been investigated in aqueous heterogeneous suspension. The generation of .OH in the presence of KSbPON during the photoreaction is verified by a fluorescence technique using terephthalic acid （TA） as a probe.

At present,the prediction of brain tum.rs is perform.d using m.chine Learning(m.)and Deep Learning(DL)*** various m. and DL algorithm. are adapted to predict brain tum.rs to som. range,som. concerns still need enhancem.nt,particularly accuracy,sensitivity,false positive and false negative,to im.rove the brain tum.r prediction system.***,this work proposed an Extended Deep Learning Algorithm.EDLA)to m.asure perform.nce param.ters such as accuracy,sensitivity,and false positive and false negative *** addition,these iterated m.asures were analyzed by com.aring the EDLA m.thod with the Convolutional Neural Network(CNN)way further using the SPSS tool,and respective graphical illustrations were *** results were that the m.an perform.nce m.asures for the proposed EDLA algorithm.were calculated,and those m.asured were accuracy(97.665%),sensitivity(97.939%),false positive(3.012%),and false negative(3.182%)for ten *** in the case of the CNN,the algorithm.m.ans accuracy gained was 94.287%,m.an sensitivity 95.612%,m.an false positive 5.328%,and m.an false negative 4.756%.These results show that the proposed EDLA m.thod has outperform.d existing algorithm.,including CNN,and ensures sym.etrically im.roved *** EDLA algorithm.introduces novelty concerning its perform.nce and particular activation *** proposed m.thod will be utilized effectively in brain tum.r detection in a precise and accurate *** algorithm.would apply to brain tum.r diagnosis and be involved in various m.dical diagnoses *** the quantity of dataset records is enorm.us,then them.thod’s com.utation power has to be updated.

Perform.nce of sand and shredded rubber tire m.xture as a natural base isolator for earthquake protection

The perform.nce of a well-designed layer of sand, and com.osites like layer of sand m.xed with shredded rubber tire (RSm. as low cost base isolators, is studied in shake table tests in the laboratory. The building foundation is m.deled by a 200 m. by 200 m. and 40 m. thick rigid plexi-glass block. The block is placed in the m.ddle of a 1m.by 1m.tank filled with sand. The selected base isolator is placed between the block and the sand foundation. Accelerom.ters are placed on top of the footing and foundation sand layer. The displacem.nt of the footing is also m.asured by LVDT. The whole setup is m.unted on a shake table and subjected to sinusoidal m.tions with varying am.litude and frequency. Sand is found to be effective only at very high am.litude (> 0.65 g) of m.tions. The perform.nce of a com.osite consisting of sand and 50% shredded rubber tire placed under the footing is found to be m.st prom.sing as a low-cost effective base isolator.

m.tathesis synthesis, characterization, spectral and photoactivity studies of Ln_(2/3)m.O_4(Ln=La, Pr, Nd, Sm. Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Er and Y)

Rare earth ortho-oxom.lybdates of com.osition Ln2/am.O4 （Ln=La, Pr, Nd, Sm. Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Er and Y） were prepared by m.tathesis reaction. All these m.terials were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform.infrared spectroscopy （FT-IR） and UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectra. The Rietveld analysis of all the sam.les was carried out to obtain the unit cell param.ters and reliability factors. All the m.terials were crystallized in tetragonal lattice with I41/a space group. The infrared spectra of all the sam.les were characterized by bands due to m.O42 units. The bandgap energies of all the sam.les were obtained from.UV-Vis DRS spectra. The lum.nescence spectra of Ln2/3m.O4 （Ln=Pr, Eu and Dy） showed characteristic transitions of the rare earth ions. The visible light photocatalytic activity of all the sam.les was studied against degradation of m.thylene blue.

An Im.roved Wavelet Based Preconditioner for Sparse Linear Problem.

In this paper, we present the construction of purely algebraic Daubechies wavelet based preconditioners for Krylov subspace iterative m.thods to solve linear sparse system.of equations. Effective preconditioners are designed with DWTPerm.d algorithm.by knowing size of the m.trix and the order of Daubechies wavelet. A notable feature of this algorithm.is that it enables wavelet level to be chosen autom.tically m.king it m.re robust than other wavelet based preconditioners and avoids user choosing a level of transform. We dem.nstrate the efficiency of these preconditioners by applying them.to several m.trices from.Tim.Davis collection of sparse m.trices for restarted Gm.ES.
