An elliptical initial polarization state is essential f.r generating m.de-locked pulses using the nonlinear polarization rotation technique. In this work, the relationship between the ellipticity ranges capable of.m.intaining m.de-locked operation against dif.erent pum. power levels is investigated. An increasing pum. power, in conjunction with m.nor adjustm.nts to the polarization controller＇s quarter waveplate, results in a wider ellipticity range that can accom.odate m.de-locked operation. Other param.ters such as noise, pulsewidth, and average output power are also observed to vary as the ellipticity changes.

Of.shore Nile Delta in Egypt represents an enorm.us hydrocarbon province with recent projected gas and condensate discoveries of.m.re than 50 trillion cubic f.et “TCf.. m.st of.these occur in the post-salt hydrocarbon plays where biogenic gases are dom.nant. This study integrates organic geochem.stry,seism.c geom.rphology and petrophysics in order to decipher the origin, and accum.lation conditions of.the wet gas/condensate blend in the Upper m.ocene sub-salt Wakar f.rm.tion sandstones in Port f.uad m.rine “Pf.0} f.eld, of.shore Nile Delta. Hydrocarbon pay zones are scattered thin（m. sandstones deposited in as turbiditic channel/levee com.lex f.cies. Spatial distribution of.vertical gas chim.eys（～2 km.wide） rooting-down to the m.ssinian Rosetta salt is associated with the lateral pinching-out of.the turbiditic sandstones. Organically-rich（total organic carbon “TOC” > 1 w.t.%, hydrogen index“HI” > 200 m. HC/g TOC） and m.ture(Tm.x> 430°C, vitrinite ref.ectance “VR” > 0.6 %R_o), source rocks are restricted to Upper m.ocene Wakar and Oligo-m.ocene Tineh f.rm.tions. The latter contains m.re m.ture organof.cies（up to 1.2 %R_o） and type II/III kerogen, thereby dem.nstrating a good capability to generate wet gases. The studied gas is wet and has therm.genic origin with signs of.secondary m.crobial alteration, whereas the condensate contains a m.xture of.m.rine and terrestrial input. m.lecular biom.rkers of.the condensate, isotopic and m.lecular com.osition of.the gas reveals a generation of.condensate prior to gas expulsion f.om.the source. The Wakar sandstones have a heterogeneous pore system.where three reservoir rock types（RRTI, RRTII and RRTIII）. RRTI rocks present the bulk com.osition of.the Wakar pay zones. Spatial distribution of.RRTI f.cies likely control the accum.lation of.the sub-salt hydrocarbons. Our results provide a new evidence on an active petroleum.system.in the sub-salt Paleogene successions in the of.shore Nile Delta where concom.tant generation of.ga

Controlled growth and caref.l characterization of.cobalt f.rrite nanoparticles f.r antibacterial applica- tions are challenging. Copper-substituted cobalt f.rrite nanoparticles （CuxCo1-xf.2O4）, where x = 0.0, 0.3, 0.5, 0.7 and 1.0, were synthesized using an econom.cal and sim.le co-precipitation technique. The crys- tal structure and antibacterial properties of.the sam.les as a f.nction of.Cu-substituted content were system.tically studied. With increasing Cu concentration, the nanopartide size decreased f.om.~30 to ~20 nm. The f.urier transf.rm.inf.a-red spectra exhibit two prom.nent f.ndam.ntal absorption bands, at ~595 and 419 cm.-1. These bands correspond to intrinsic stretching vibrations of.m.tals at tetrahedral and octahedral sites, respectively. The Ram.n scattering results reveal that increasing the Cu content enhances the local disorder at both tetrahedral and octahedral sub lattices. The results indicate that the substitution of.Co with Cu in cobalt f.rrite nanoparticles strongly inf.uences the m.crostructure, crystal structure, and oarticle diam.ter, and also im.roves the antibacterial properties.

This paper presents a new passive-biped m.del consisting of.a sim.lest walking m.del beneath an upper body, with no kinem.tic constraint. The upper body is attached to the legs with a linear torsional spring. The m.del is a passive dynam.c walker, so it walks down a slope without energy input. The governing equations of.m.tion are derived and sim.lated f.r the param.ter analysis purposes. Sim.lation results reveal som. dif.erent routes to chaos that have not been observed in previous m.dels.

Inf.rm.tion about the spatial distribution of.soil attributes is indispensable f.r m.ny land resource m.nagem.nt applications; however, the ability of.soil m.ps to supply such inf.rm.tion f.r m.dern m.deling tools is questionable. The objectives of.this study were to investigate the possibility of.predicting soil depth using som. terrain attributes derived f.om.digital elevation m.dels （DEm.） with geographic inf.rm.tion system. （GIS） and to suggest an approach to predict other soil attributes. Soil depth was determ.ned at 652 f.eld observations over the A1-m.waqqar Watershed （70 km.） in Jordan. Terrain attributes derived f.om.30-m.resolution DEm. were utilized to predict soil depth. The results indicated that the use of.m.ltiple linear regression m.dels within sm.ll watershed subdivisions enabled the prediction of.soil depth with a dif.erence of.50 cm.f.r 77% of.the f.eld observations. The spatial distribution of.the predicted soil depth was visually coincided and had good correlations with the spatial distribution of.the classes am.lgam.ting three terrain attributes, slope steepness, slope shape, and com.ound topographic index. These suggested that the m.deling of.soil-landscape relationships within sm.ll watershed subdivisions using the three terrain attributes was a prom.sing approach to predict other soil attributes.

m.asuring the growth param.ters of.Ge quantum.dots （QDs） em.edded in SiO2/Si hetero-structure is pre- requisite f.r developing the optoelectronic devices such as photovoltaics and sensors. Their optical properties can be tuned by tailoring the growth m.rphology and structures, where the growth param.ters＇ optim.zations still need to be explored. We determ.ne the ef.ect of.annealing tem.erature on surf.ce m.rphology, structures and optical properties of.Ge//SiO2//Si hetero-structure. Sam.les are grown via rf.m.gnetron sputtering and subsequent characterizations are m.de using im.ging and spectroscopic techniques.

Reducing the concentration of.the m.tallic im.urities present in silicon-based electronic com.onents plays a vital role in m.nuf.ctures. Gettering by induced m.chanical dam.ge is one of.the m.thods used in neutralizing these im.urities. To sim.late this type of.gettering, we explicitly include the role of.the traps due to m.chanical dam.ge, based on the m.chanism.of.kick-out. In our m.del, we choose the essential param.ters including concentration of.im.urities, thickness, tem.erature, tim., etc. The dif.usion coef.icient and equilibrium.concentration of.the silicon interstitials estim.ted f.om.the literature have been adjusted to be in good agreem.nt with the experim.ntal data.

This paper reports the oxidation behavior of.stainless steel type 403 as a substrate m.terial with and without NiAl coating. Evaluation of.oxidation resistance was perf.rm.d on uncoated and coated specim.ns at 850 and 1050°C. A com.ercial dif.usion process was used f.r the f.rm.tion of.NiAl interm.tallic coatings on the specim.ns. Bef.re alum.nizing, a layer of.nickel, about 40 um. was deposited on specim.ns by electroplating. Various techniques including SEm. EDAX, optical m.croscopy and m.cro-hardness testing were em.loyed to investigate the coatings bef.re and af.er oxidation tests. Nickel-alum.nides produced by two stage; plating-alum.nizing, treatm.nt with NiAl on the surf.ce increased the perf.rm.nce of.stainless steel sam.les signif.cantly.

The ef.ects of.Sr TiO_3 on the hydrogen storage properties of.m.H_2 have been studied f.r the f.rst *** onset dehydrogenation tem.erature of.the m.H_2-10 wt% SrTiO_3 is f.und to be 275 ℃, which is 55 ℃ lower as com.ared to the as-m.lled m.H_2. The com.osite is able to absorb 4.3 wt% of.hydrogen in 60 m.n instead of.1.1 wt% f.r the as-m.lled m. H_2. m.anwhile, the com.osite is able to release 5.3 wt% of.hydrogen in 17 m.n com.ared to 1.9 wt% by the as-m.lled m. H_2 at 320 ℃. The calculated Eaof.the m. H_2-10 wt% SrTiO_3 is 109 k J/m.l, which is 26.3 kJ/m.l lower than the calculated Eaof.the as-m.lled m.H_2. The Sr TiO_3 is not decom.osed during the ball m.lling and the re/dehydrogenation processes. The catalytic ef.ect shown by the SrTiO_3 is owing to its ability to change the physical structure of.the m.H_2 particles during the ball m.lling process.

A novel synthetic m.thod f.r the preparation of.5-aryl-7-（3,5-dim.thyl-lH-pyrazol-l-yl）-2-phenylpyra- zolo[1,5-c]-pyrim.dines and 1-（5-aryl-2-phenylpyrazolo[1,5-c]pyrim.din-7-yl）-3-m.thyl-lH-pyrazol-5-ols is provided by condensative cyclization of.5-aryl-7-hydrazino-2-phenylpyrazolo[1,5-c]pyrim.dines with 1,3-dicarbonyl com.ounds. The study of.the m.re reactive position f.r electrophilic substitusion reactions on such ring system.was also achieved.
