Ingestible capsules have the potential to become an attractive alternative to traditional means of treating and detecting gastrointestinal(GI)*** device complexity increases,so too does the demand for more effective capsule packaging technologies to elegantly target specific GI *** pH-responsive coatings have been traditionally used for the passive targeting of specific GI regions,their application is limited due to the geometric restrictions imposed by standard coating ***,pan,and spray coating methods only enable the protection of microscale unsupported openings against the harsh GI ***,some emerging technologies have millimeter-scale components for performing functions such as sensing and drug *** this end,we present the freestanding region-responsive bilayer(FRRB),a packaging technology for ingestible capsules that can be readily applied for various functional ingestible capsule *** bilayer is composed of rigid polyethylene glycol(PEG)under a flexible pH-responsive Eudragit®FL 30 D 55,which protects the contents of the capsule until it arrives in the targeted intestinal *** FRRB can be fabricated in a multitude of shapes that facilitate various functional packaging mechanisms,some of which are demonstrated *** this paper,we characterize and validate the use of this technology in a simulated intestinal environment,confirming that the FRRB can be tuned for small intestinal *** also show a case example where the FRRB is used to protect and expose a thermomechanical actuator for targeted drug delivery.

Background:Under current dietary regimens,milk production by lactating sows is insufficient to sustain the maximal growth of their *** precursors of glutamate and glutamine as well as substrates and activators of protein synthesis,branched-chain amino acids(BCAAs)have great potential for enhancing milk production by ***:Thirty multiparous sows were assigned randomly into one of three groups:control(a corn-and soybean meal-based diet),the basal diet+1.535%BCAAs;and the basal diet+3.07%*** ratio(g/g)among the supplemental L-isoleucine,L-leucine and L-valine was 1.00:2.56:*** were made isonitrogenous by the addition of appropriate amounts of *** sows had free access to drinking water and their respective *** number of live-born piglets was standardized to 9 per sow at d 0 of lactation(the day of parturition).On d 3,15 and 29 of lactation,body weights and milk consumption of piglets were measured,and blood samples were obtained from sows and piglets 2 h and 1 h after feeding and nursing,***:Feed intake did not differ among the three groups of *** of asparagine,glutamate,glutamine,citrulline,arginine,proline,BCAAs,and many other amino acids were greater(Pma of BCAA-supplemented sows and their piglets than those in the control *** with the control,dietary supplementation with 1.535%and 3.07%BCAAs increased(Pmate plus glutamine,aspartate plus asparagine,and many other amino acids in milk;milk production by 14%and 21%,respectively;daily weight gains of piglets by 19%and 28%,respectively,while reducing preweaning mortality rates by 50%and 70%,***:Dietary supplementation with up to 3.07%BCAAs enhanced milk production by lactating sows,and the growth and survival of their piglets.

Tungsten nitride(W_(x)N)thin films with good crystalline structure,high quality and relatively low resistivity were deposited by hot filament chemical vapor deposition(HFCVD)technique at different mixtures of N2 and Ar *** data demonstrate that different N_(2) contents in gas mixture strongly affect microstructure,phase formation,texture morphology and resistivity of the W_(x)N *** to X-ray diffraction(XRD)patterns,the growth of tungsten nitride films promotes δ-WN phase for lower N_(2) contents in gas *** higher N_(2) contents,a phase transition is observed in the tungsten nitride *** hexagonal δ-WN and cubic β-W_(2)N phases coexist,and WN phase approximately disappears with N_(2) contents in the gas mixture *** electron microscope(SEm)images for deposited films at lower N_(2) contents in gas mixture indicate a definite dense columnar *** electrical resistivity results exhibit a significant drop for the W_(x)N thin films with N_(2) contents in the mixed gas *** changes in N_(2) content in gas mixture are found to be responsible for variation in the film resistivity ***,the deposited tungsten nitride thin film at higher N_(2) contents in gas mixture has noncolumnar microstructure and lower resistivity,which may be used as a superior diffusion barrier.

Cellulose is the main structural component of lignocellulosic wastes that can be converted to sugars and biofuels by *** to wide applications of this enzyme in various industries around the world,cellulase is considered as the third industrial *** ability of thermophilic bacteria in the production of heat-stable cellulases has made them valuable tools in *** aim of this study was isolation and molecular identification of cellulolytic thermophile bacteria from Dig Rostam hot spring and investigating their cellulase *** were taken from water and sediments of this hot spring,and cellulolytic bacteria were enriched in media containing cellulose as the only carbon *** bacteria were incubated at 60℃,and single colonies were then isolated on solid *** red assay was used as a quick test for the qualitative screening of cellulase *** to these qualitative results,four colonies named CDB1,CDB2,CDB3,and CDB4 were isolated,and their growth curve and some other characteristics were determined by biochemical ***,endoglucanase,exoglucanase,and FPase activities of the isolates were investigated *** indicated that CDB1 exhibited the highest endoglucanase(0.096 U/mL)and exoglucanase(0.156 U/mL)activities among other isolates.16S rDNA partial sequencing indicated that CDB1 had 99%similarity to the genus Anoxybacillus,and the other isolates showed the highest similarity to the genus *** cellulase gene of CDB1 isolate with the highest cellulase activity was also cloned,and its sequence is reported for the first *** studies on this thermophilic enzyme might be useful for industrial applications.

Effect of testosterone on morphine withdrawal syndrome in rats

Aim： To determine whether testosterone is involved in morphine withdrawal syndrome （WS）. methods： In order to induce dependency, rats were treated with subcutaneous injection of morphine （days 1-2, 5 mg/kg; days 3-5, 7.5 mg/kg; days 6-8, 10 mg/kg）, and after the last dose of morphine （day 8） WS was induced by intraperitoneal injection of naloxone （1 mg/kg）. Wet dog shake （WDS）, abdomen writhing （AW）, and jumps （J） were recorded as indicators of WS. Results： The severity of WDS, AW, and J in male rats was greater than that in females. Accordingly, in 4-week castrated and flutamide-treated （10 mg/kg/day for 8 days, i.p.） male rats, WDS, AW, and J were significantly decreased compared to male control rats. Testosterone replacement therapy （10 mg/kg/day for 8 days, i.m.） in 4-week castrated rats restored the severity of WDS, AW, and J behaviors to the level of non-castrated male rats, whereas testosterone potentiated the WDS behavior in non-castrated male rats. Conclusion： It can be concluded that testosterone might be effectively involved in morphine WS.

Structural and Electronic Properties of Cyclic Peptide-gold Nanoparticle as a Drug Delivery System

Using Au6 cluster and cyclooctaglycine model for gold nanoparticle(AuNP) and cyclic peptide(CP), twelve configurations for the functionalization of cyclic peptide-gold nanoparticle(CPAuNP) with gemcitabine(GEm) anticancer drug were investigated(CPAuNP/GEm1-12). Structural and electronic properties have been studied in gas phase and aqueous solution at m06-2 X/6-31 g(d,p). The energetic stability of CPAuNP/GEm1-12 was confirmed by the calculation of binding energies. Since the solubility of drug, CP and AuNP increases in CPAuNP/GEm1-12, cyclic peptide-gold nanoparticle could be used as an appropriate drug delivery system. Quantum molecular descriptors such as electrophilicity power and global hardness demonstrated that the reactivity of CP and GEm drug increases in CPAuNP/GEm1-12 configurations. The AIm analysis for CPAuNP/GEm1-12 indicated that the Au-L(L = H, O, F, C, N) interactions and intermolecular hydrogen bonds play important roles in this drug delivery system. All Au-Au and some of Au-L interactions are related to medium interactions. The most stable configurations are those in which GEm drug is parallel to the CPAuNP and interacts simultaneously with AuNP and CP.

In this paper, we study an efficient asymptotically correction of a-posteriori er- ror estimator for the numerical approximation of Volterra integro-differential equations by piecewise polynomial collocation method. The deviation of the error for Volterra integro- differential equations by using the defect correction principle is defined. Also, it is shown that for m degree piecewise polynomial collocation method, our method provides O（hm＋l） as the order of the deviation of the error. The theoretical behavior is tested on examples and it is shown that the numerical results confirm the theoretical part.

Titania coating of multi wall carbon nano tube(mWCNT) was carried out by sol-gel method in order to improve its photo catalytic *** effect of mWCNT/TiO_2 mass to volume ratio on adsorption ability,reaction rate and photo-catalytic removal efficiency of dibenzothiophene(DBT) from n-hexane solution was investigated using a 9 W UV *** results show that the addition of nanotubes improves the photo-catalytic properties of TiO_2 by two factors;however,the DBT removal rate versus mWCNT content is found to follow a bimodal *** factors are observed to affect the removal rate of DBT and produce two optimum values for mWCNT ***,large quantities of mWCNTs prevent light absorption by the solution and decrease removal *** contrast,a low dosage of mWCNT causes recombination of the electron holes,which also decreases the DBT removal *** optimum mWCNT contents in the composite are found to be 0.25 g and 0.75 g mWCNT per 80 m L of sol.
