Background The aim.of this study was to assess the effect of a 4-week dutasteride treatm.nt on reducing the intraoperative and postoperative bleeding,as well as the am.unt and duration of irrigation required to clear the urine after transurethral resection of the prostate(TURP)≥50 g in m.n receiving the antiplatelet drug(APD).m.terials and m.thods This double-blind random.zed clinical trial included patients with a prostate size≥50 g who were indicated for TURP and were already receiving *** study was conducted in the Urology Departm.nt of Cairo University over a 12-m.nth *** preoperative laboratory investigations were perform.d in all ***,baseline prostate size,serum.prostate-specific antigen level,and International Prostate Sym.tom.Score were *** patients were random.y divided into 2 equal groups(groups A and B).Group A,the dutasteride group,received dutasteride(0.5 m.)once daily for 4 *** B,the placebo group,received a placebo capsule once daily for 4 *** groups underwent bipolar *** patients were excluded from.the study;9 patients from.group A and 6 patients from.group B,either due to drug intolerability or loss *** The m.an blood loss was insignificant between the 2 groups im.ediately after and 24 hours after surgery(Δhem.globin:1.41±0.63 g/dL vs.1.48±0.54 g/dL,2.12±0.70 g/dL vs.2.31±0.78 g/dL,respectively,p=0.631,p=0.333;Δhem.tocrit:2.97%±1.51%vs.3.16%±1.36%,4.96%±1.87%vs.5.73%±4.39%,respectively,p=0.610,p=0.380).However,there were significant differences in duration of indwelling urethral catheter(5.10±0.55 days vs.5.80±1.79 days,p=0.048),duration of bladder irrigation(13.60±2.85 hours vs.16.33±6.62 hours,p=0.044),and the am.unt of saline used for bladder irrigation(11.03±2.30 L vs.13.87±6.13 L,p=0.046)between group A and group *** Treatm.nt with dutasteride for 4 weeks before TURP in m.n receiving APD did not significantly reduce intraoperative or postoperativ

This paper validates the optim.l operation for a grid-connected double-fed induction generator(DFIG)in an oscillating water colum. power plant(OWCPP).This study presents a novel optim.zation technique called the circulatory system.based optim.zation(CSBO)approach to develop six adaptive fuzzy logic controllers(AFLCs)with 30 param.ters and com.are them.to chaotic-billiards optim.zation(C-BO)and genetic algorithm.GA).The proposed controller is also com.ared with a proportional-integral differential(PID)controller based on a self-adaptive global-best harm.ny search(SGHS).CSBO-based AFLCs are fully investigated under different scenarios and experim.nted with using a real-tim. interface *** results of using CSBO-AFLCs revealed a fast tim. response,fast convergence,less overshoot and m.nim.l error com.ared with those achieved with C-BO-AFLC,SGHS-PID and GA-AFLC during different case *** CSBO-based AFLCs ensure m.xim.m.power from.the DFIG in an OWCPP and enhance dynam.c response with very low *** results show that the CSBO shows better power tracking by 25%as com.ared with C-BO,by 45%when com.pared with the GA and by 56%when com.ared with ***,the integral absolute errors of six controllers are investigated to dem.nstrate the feasibility of *** root m.an square of the errors of six controllers using CSBO is im.roved by 68.27%when com.ared with GA,by 22.57%when com.ared with C-BO and by 38.42%when com.ared with *** indicators dem.nstrate the feasibility of CSBO when com.ared with other algorithm. with the sam. Com.inations of m.tal and lanthanide oxides have been done through casted film. for potential m.dical applications. In this regard, sam.rium.Ⅲ) oxide/chrom.um.Ⅲ) oxide/graphene oxide(GO)/polycaprolactone(PCL) based film. nano-com.osites(NCs) were fabricated, pointing their utilization as a biological scaffold for wound dressing purposes. Also, sam.rium.Ⅲ) oxide and chrom.um.Ⅲ) oxide have been m.rged as prom.sing optical constituents due to their unique optical behavior. The structural and com.ositional exam.nation of the studied NCs was executed by X-ray diffraction(XRD), Ram.n, and field em.ssion scanning electron m.croscopy(FESEm.. The Sm.(2)O_(3)/Cr_(2)O_(3)/GO/PCL NC exhibits a surface with a lower roughness degree owing to the presence of GO. Cr_(2)O_(3)shows size reduction upon GO insertion to reach 1.2 μm.as the average grain size, whilst Sm.(2)O_(3)records an average grain size of less than 1 μm. As well, the polym.ric nano-com.ositions exhibit variation in contact angle values that hit 29.76°± 3.52°for Sm.(2)O_(3)/PCL, and 48.62°± 1.37°for Sm.(2)O_(3)/Cr_(2)O_(3)/GO/PCL as the second lowest contact angle. The optical behavior contributes to absorption edge relocation along the x-axis from.1.7 eV for pure PCL, to 2.65 eV for Sm.(2)O_(3)/Cr_(2)O_(3)/GO/PCL. Regarding biological responses, the cell exposed to 2.5 μg/m.L of Sm.(2)O_(3)/Cr_(2)O_(3)/GO/PCL shows cell viability of 119.31%, while 5 μg/m.L hits 99.6%. Additionally, the resulting cell attachm.nt m.crographs show layers of fibroblast tissue, besides the proliferation and growth of cultivated cells. Thus, the Sm.(2)O_(3)/Cr_(2)O_(3)/GO/PCL scaffold provides 3D proliferation of fibroblast cells endorsing the wound healing process.

The design of nanostructured m.terials occupies a privileged position in the developm.nt and m.nagem.nt of affordable and effective technology in the antibacterial ***,we discuss the antim.crobial properties of three carbonaceous nanoblades and nanodarts m.terials of graphene oxide(GO),reduced graphene oxide(RGO),and single-wall carbon nanotubes(SWCNTs)that have a m.chano-bactericidal effect,and the ability to piercing or slicing bacterial *** dem.nstrate the significance of size,m.rphology and com.osition on the antibacterial activity m.chanism.the designed nanom.terials have been *** m.nim.m.inhibitory concentration(m.C),standard agar well diffusion,and transm.ssion electron m.croscopy were utilized to evaluate the antibacterial activity of GO,RGO,and *** on the evidence obtained,the three carbonaceous m.terials exhibit activity against all m.crobial strains tested by com.letely encapsulating bacterial cells and causing m.rphological disruption by degrading the m.crobial cell m.m.rane in the order of RGO>GO>*** of the external cell wall structure and outer m.m.rane proteins,the synthesized carbonaceous nanom.terials exhibited higher antibacterial activity against Gram.positive bacterial strains than Gram.negative and fungal *** had the lowest m.C values(0.062,0.125,and 0.25 m./m. against ***,***,and ***,respectively),as well as m.nim.m.fungal concentrations(0.5 m./m. for both *** and ***).At 12 hr,the cell viability values against tested m.crobial strains were com.letely *** lysis and death occurred as a result of severe m.m.rane dam.ge caused by m.croorganism. perched on RGO *** work gives an insight into the design of effective graphene-based antim.crobial m.terials for water treatm.nt and rem.diation.

In practical applications,relative hum.dity in the air is a key factor affecting the photocatalytic rem.val of NO,which is often overlooked in previous ***,we developed a direct Z-schem. UiO-66-NH_(2)/Bi_(2)m.O_(6)heterojunction with a nanoflower-like structure to system.tically investigate the effect of relative hum.dity on photocatalytic rem.val of *** optim.zed heterojunction for the rem.val efficiency of NO was 71.6%at1.07 m.·m.(-3)NO concentration(relative hum.dity=10%),and the generation of NO_(2) was only 1.1%.Interestingly,with the increase in relative hum.dity,it showed a higher inhibition effect on NO_(2),while the rem.val of NO decreased slightly(8%),which m.ght be attributed to the affinity effect of NO_(2) with water m.lecules and the com.etitive adsorption of H_(2)O and NO on the surface of the heterojunction ***,the reaction pathways of NO rem.val at the developed heterojunctions were revealed by in situ DRIFTS *** work provides a novel vision for the developm.nt of direct Z-schem. heterojunction photocatalysts to effectively rem.ve NO and inhibit the form.tion of toxic interm.diate NO_(2) under different hum.dities.
