Association between MTHFR c.677C>T variant and erectile dysfunction among males attending fertility clinic

Genetic risk factors have been shown to contribute to the development of sexual dysfunction.However,the role of methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase(MTHFR)gene variants in the risk of erectile dysfunction(ED)remains unclear.In this study,we recruited 1254 participants who underwent ED assessed by the International Index of Erectile Function-5.The MTHFR c.677C>T variant was also measured by fluorescence polymerase chain reaction(PCR).No significant difference in the genotypic frequency of the MTHFR C677T polymorphism(CC,CT,and TT)was observed between men from the ED and non-ED groups.In addition,on binary logistic regression analysis,both crude and adjusted models showed that the risk of ED was not significantly associated with the C677T polymorphism.Interestingly,a significantly higher frequency of the 677TT polymorphism was found in severe and moderate ED(P=O.02).The positive correlation between the MTHFR 677TT polymorphism and severe ED was confirmed by logistic regression analysis,even after adjusting for potential confounders(odds ratio[OR]=2.46,95%confidence interval[CI]:1.15-5.50,P=0.02).These findings suggest a positive correlation between the MTHFR 677TT polymorphism and the risk of severe ED.Identification of MTHFR gene polymorphisms may provide complementary information for ED patients during routineclinicaldiagnosis.

Near-infrared(NIR)light has shown great potential for military and civilian applications owing to its advantages in the composition of sunlight,invisibility to human eyes,deeper penetration into biological tissues,and low optical loss in optical fibers.Therefore,organic optoelectronic materials that can absorb or emit NIR light have aroused great scientific interest in basic science and practical applications.Based on these NIR organic optoelectronic materials,NIR optoelectronic devices have been greatly improved in performance and application.In this review,the representative NIR organic optoelectronic materials used in organic solar cells,organic photodetectors,organic light-emitting diodes,organic lasers,and organic optical waveguide devices are briefly introduced,and the potential applications of each kind of device are briefly summarized.Finally,we summarize and take up the development of NIR organic optoelectronic materials and devices.

Angle of repose in the numerical modeling of ballast particles focusing on particle-dependent specifications:Parametric study

The discrete element method(DEM)is widely used in the realistic simulation of the shapes of particles.Researchers have considered the simplification of particle shapes owing to the high computational cost of such simulation.In this regard,the modeling of calibrated particles is a major challenge owing to the simultaneous effects of particle properties.The angle-of-repose test is a standard test method used to calibrate the bulk behavior of simulated particles.In the present study,the hollow-cylinder(slump)test was modeled for the verification of discrete element simulations.In this regard,a sensitivity analysis was conducted for all effective parameters,namely the static friction,rolling friction,restitution coefficient,sphericity,roundness,particle size distribution,and number of ballast particles.The results indicate that the rolling friction,roundness,number of particles,and size of particles are the most important parameters in the determination of the angle of repose(AOR).For particles in the range of ballast(20-60 mm),the effect of the number of particles on the angle of repose is reduced when the number is greater than 426.Additionally,it is concluded that angular particles can be replaced with sub-angular particles(R≈0.2-0.45)with a higher rolling friction coefficient(μ_(r)>0.14).

High Performance of PVA Nanocomposite Reinforced by Janus-like Asymmetrically Oxidized Graphene:Synergetic Effect of H-bonding Interaction and Interfacial Crystallization

Macromolecule nanocrystal network and strong interfacial interaction are always beneficial to enhance the mechanical property of polymer-based nanocomposites.Poly(vinyl alcohol)(PVA),a typical biocompatible semicrystalline polymer,is an ideal candidate for preparing high performance polymer-based nanocomposites.However,the rich hydrogen bonds between PVA matrix and graphene oxide(GO)can disrupt the formation of PVA nanocrystal network.Thus,it remains a great challenge to achieve both strong and tough PVA-GO nanocomposites.Herein,by introducing a novel Janus-like amphiphilic graphene oxide(JGO),both hydrogen bonding and interfacial crystallization have been constructed between JGO sheets and PVA matrix.Benefiting from amphiphilic interfacial interaction and the enhanced crystal network,both PVA-JGO dried films and their swollen hydrogel films show superior mechanical properties than those of traditional PVA-GO nanocomposites.PVA-JGO dried films exhibit a 264%improvement of toughness at a JGO loading of 1 wt%.Meanwhile,the corresponding PVA-JGO swollen hydrogel films display simultaneous improvement of nearly 8 times increase of tensile strength and 20 times increase of toughness compared to traditional PVA-GO nanocomposite.This work indicates multiple interfacial interactions and macromolecule crystal networks can be concurrent in PVA nanocomposites by innovative modification of nanofillers,providing a new strategy to construct PVA nanocomposites with high strength and high toughness.The integration of outstanding mechanical and swelling resistance properties on PVA-JGO nanocomposite films render their promising applications,such as packaging and toughening hydrogel materials.

竖井地基大应变非线性固结解析解

已有的研究表明,高压缩性软土的大应变及非线性固结特性对其固结具有显著影响。但目前能同时考虑两者影响的竖井地基大应变非线性固结解析解还鲜见报道。考虑高压缩性软土在固结中的大变形特性,应用双对数压缩渗透非线性模型描述软土在固结中的压缩渗透特性变化,基于Gibson大应变固结理论,建立竖井地基大应变非线性固结模型并获得模型的解析解。将所获得的解析解与竖井地基大应变非线性固结数值解及特定工况下小应变线性固结解析解进行对比,以验证所获解析解的可靠性。在此基础上,通过大量计算对不同工况下竖井地基非线性固结性状开展分析。结果表明:压缩指数I_(c)为定值时竖井地基固结速率随参数α减小而增大。α保持不变时竖井地基固结速率随I_(c)减小而增大。压缩渗透参数保持不变时,竖井地基固结速率随着外荷载的增大而加快,随着井径比增大而减慢。将所获解析解应用于深港西部通道口岸区填海地基处理的工程计算,表明理论计算的沉降曲线与实测曲线较为吻合,说明了所获解析解的工程可应用性。

目的分析消化性溃疡患者幽门螺杆菌(Hp)不同菌型感染外周血T细胞亚群、胃肠激素及炎症因子水平。方法选取安徽医科大学附属巢湖医院2020年1月-2022年12月收治的109例消化性溃疡患者为研究对象,采用免疫印迹法检测Hp菌株分型,分析Hp不同菌型感染患者外周血T细胞亚群CD_(3)^(+)、CD_(4)^(+)、CD_(8)^(+)和胃肠激素胃泌素(GAS)、胃动素(MTL)及炎症因子白细胞介素(IL)-17、IL-33、肿瘤坏死因子(TNF-α)水平。结果109例消化性溃疡患者中Hp阳性患者为80例,阴性患者29例,Hp阳性率为73.39%;80例Hp阳性患者中HpⅠ型58例占73.50%,HpⅡ型22例占27.50%;与Hp阴性患者比较,感染HpⅠ型、HpⅡ型患者CD_(4)^(+)、CD_(4)^(+)/CD_(8)^(+)和IL-17、IL-33、TNF-α及GAS、MTL水平均升高(P<0.05),且HpⅠ型感染患者高于HpⅡ型感染患者(P<0.05)。结论Hp不同菌型感染消化性溃疡患者外周血T细胞亚群、胃肠激素及炎症因子表达水平有统计学差异,对于区分消化性溃疡病情严重程度和及时治疗具有重要意义。

目的探讨异甘草素对中性粒细胞性哮喘小鼠气道炎症的影响及其可能的作用机制。方法用卵清蛋白建立中性粒细胞性哮喘小鼠模型。将Balb/c小鼠随机分为对照组(给予等量的0.9%NaCl处理)、模型组(卵清蛋白建模)、地塞米松组(腹腔注射4 mg·kg^(-1)的地塞米松)、低剂量实验组(腹腔注射100 mg·kg^(-1)的异甘草素)、高剂量实验组(腹腔注射200 mg·kg^(-1)的异甘草素),每组11只。在最后1次雾化激发后的24 h内,检测各组小鼠气道阻力后处死小鼠取支气管肺泡灌洗液及肺组织。用细胞计数板进行总细胞计数;用瑞氏-吉姆萨染色法进行细胞分类计数;用酶联免疫吸附测定(ELISA)法检测支气管肺泡灌洗液炎性因子水平;用蛋白质印迹法检测肺组织蛋白表达水平。结果对照组、模型组、地塞米松组、低剂量实验组、高剂量实验组的气道阻力值分别为(0.84±0.08)、(3.34±0.34)、(1.23±0.15)、(2.47±0.19)和(1.54±0.18)cmH_(2)O·s^(-1),白细胞总数分别为(15.03±0.11)、(331.20±26.64)、(38.73±3.28)、(180.35±16.89)和(82.74±10.51)×10^(4)·mL^(-1),白细胞介素17(IL-17)水平分别为(4.79±0.58)、(19.21±2.39)、(6.35±0.81)、(15.96±1.10)和(9.04±0.65)pg·mL^(-1),含V型集和免疫球蛋白结构域4(VSIG4)蛋白表达水平分别为0.67±0.04、0.24±0.04、0.59±0.06、0.37±0.04和0.53±0.05,NOD样受体家族热蛋白结构域相关蛋白3(NLRP3)蛋白表达水平分别为0.24±0.02、0.74±0.07、0.35±0.04、0.65±0.08和0.44±0.03。模型组的上述指标与对照组比较,地塞米松组、低剂量实验组、高剂量实验组的上述指标与模型组比较,在统计学上差异均有统计学意义(均P<0.05)。结论异甘草素可能通过调节VSIG4/NLRP3复合炎性通路,降低气道阻力、抑制炎性介质的释放改善中性粒细胞哮喘小鼠气道炎性。

Toughening of vinyl ester resins by two-dimensional MXene nanosheets

Two-dimensional nanosheets are highly effective tougheners for vinyl ester resins.The toughening effect is related to the high specific surface area and unique two-dimensional planar structure of the nanosheets.In this study,a coupling agentγ-(2,3-epoxypropoxy)propytrimethoxysilane(Kh-560)was used to modify MXene nanosheets(M-MXene)for use in toughening vinyl ester resin.The mechanical properties,including the tensile strength,flexural strength,Young’s modulus and elongation,of neat vinyl ester resin and vinyl ester resin modified with MXene and M-MXene were investigated.The results showed that modification significantly improved the mechanical properties of the vinyl ester resin.The tensile and flexural strengths of the MXene-nanosheet-modified vinyl ester resin were 27.20%and 25.32%higher,respectively,than those of the neat vinyl ester resin.The coupling agent improved the interfacial compatibility between the MXene nanosheets and vinyl ester resin,which resulted in the tensile and flexural strengths of the M-MXene-nanosheet-modified vinyl ester resin being 52.57%and 54.60%higher,respectively,than those of the neat vinyl ester resin for a loading quantity of nanosheets of only 0.04 wt%,which is economically viable.The main mechanisms by which the nanosheets toughen the resin are crack deflection and crack pinning.
