The phonon and thermodynamics properties of face-centered cubic CaF2 at high pressure and high temperature are investigated by using the shell model interatomic pair potential within General Utility Lattice Program （GULP）. The phonon dispersion curves and the corresponding density of state （PDOS） in this work are consistent with the experimental data and other theoretical results. The transverse optical （TO） and longitudinal optical （LO） mode splitting as well as heat capacity at constant volume Cv and entropy S versus pressure and temperature are also obtained.

Objective:This cross-sectional study aimed to determine the epidemiology of olfactory and gustatory dysfunctions related to COVID-19 in ***:This study was conducted by 45 tertiary Grade-A hospitals in *** and offline questionnaire data were obtained from patients infected with COVID-19 between December 28,2022,and February 21,*** collected information included basic demographics,medical history,smoking and drinking history,vaccination history,changes in olfactory and gustatory functions before and after infection,and other postinfection symptoms,as well as the duration and improvement status of olfactory and gustatory ***:Complete questionnaires were obtained from 35,566 *** overall incidence of olfactory and taste dysfunction was 67.75%.Being female or being a cigarette smoker increased the likelihood of developing olfactory and taste *** received four doses of the vaccine or having good oral health or being a alcohol drinker decreased the risk of such *** infection,the average olfactory and taste VAS scores were 8.41 and 8.51,respectively;after infection,they decreased to 3.69 and 4.29 and recovered to 5.83 and 6.55 by the time of the *** median duration of dysosmia and dysgeusia was 15 and 12 days,respectively,with 0.5%of patients having symptoms lasting for more than 28 *** overall self-reported improvement rate was 59.16%.Recovery was higher in males,never smokers,those who received two or three vaccine doses,and those that had never experienced dental health issues,or chronic accompanying ***:The incidence of dysosmia and dysgeusia following infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus is high in *** and prognosis are influenced by several factors,including sex,SARS-CoV-2 vaccination,history of head-facial trauma,nasal and oral health status,smoking and drinking history,and the persistence of accompanying symptoms.

Late-onset hypogonadism （LOH） is closely related to secondary androgen deficiency in aged males, but the mechanism remains unclear. In this study, we found that reduced testosterone production in aged rat Leydig cells is associated with decreased autophagic activity. Primary rat Leydig cells and the TM3 mouse Leydig cell line were used to study the effect of autophagic deficiency on Leydig cell testosterone production. In Leydig cells from young and aged rats, treatment with wortmannin, an autophagy inhibitor, inhibited luteinising hormone （LH）-stimulated steroidogenic acute regulatory （STAR） protein expression and decreased testosterone production. In contrast, treatment with rapamycin, an autophagy activator, enhanced LH-stimulated steroidogenesis in Leydig cells from aged, but not young, rats. Intracellular reactive oxygen species （ROS） levels were increased in both young and aged Leydig cells treated with wortmannin but decreased only in aged Leydig cells treated with rapamycin. Furthermore, an increased level of ROS, induced by H2O2, resulted in LH-stimulated steroidogenic inhibition. Finally, knockdown of Beclin 1 decreased LH-stimulated StAR expression and testosterone production in TM3 mouse Leydig cells, which were associated with increased intracellular ROS level. These results suggested that autophagic deficiency is related to steroidogenic decline in aged rat Leydig cells, which might be influenced by intracellular ROS levels.

BACKGROUND Recently,two naval pilots in a two-seat trainer jet were forced to eject urgently due to sudden mechanical failure during night-time *** were both successfully rescued and sent to the hospital for emergency *** this study,we investigate their ejection injuries and recovery *** SUMMARY We analyzed the clinical data of the traumatic condition and recovery process from ejection injuries of two pilots who ejected from a failed trainer jet and *** being successfully rescued and sent to the hospital,they were diagnosed with multiple ejection injuries,including eye trauma,limb bone and joint injury,rib and spine injury,and so *** cases underwent fluid replacement,acid suppression,nutritional support,hemostasis,bone metabolism improvement,phlegm elimination,psychological measurement,blood circulation promotion and detumescence,physical therapy,and external fixation with braces for 1 mo before being discharged from *** then recuperated in a sanatorium for 2 mo,and the related laboratory tests and supplementary examinations show that they recovered from all the above *** successfully passing the psychological test and physical examination,they returned to flight duty 3 mo after *** The causes and conditions of ejection injury in the pilots were very *** they finally recovered quickly and were released,it also serves as a reminder that attention should be paid to pilots’ejection and parachute training in order to significantly reduce ejection injury and improve the ejection success *** addition,air defense support personnel should strengthen search and rescue and on-site emergency measures,and locate and rescue pilots in distress as early as possible to reduce subsequent injuries.

The Circular Electron Positron Collider(CEPC)is a large scientific project initiated and hosted by China,fostered through extensive collaboration with international *** complex comprises four accelerators:a 30 GeV linac,a 1.1 GeV Damping Ring,a Booster capable of achieving energies up to 180 GeV,and a Collider operating at varying energy modes(Z,W,H,and tt).The linac and Damping Ring are situated on the surface,while the subterranean Booster and Collider are housed in a 100 km circumference underground tunnel,strategically accommodating future expansion with provisions for a potential Super Proton Proton Collider(SPPC).The CEPC primarily serves as a Higgs *** its baseline design with synchrotron radiation(SR)power of 30 MW per beam,it can achieve a luminosity of 5×10^(34)cm^(-2)s^(-1)per interaction point(IP),resulting in an integrated luminosity of 13 ab^(-1)for two IPs over a decade,producing 2.6 million Higgs *** the SR power to 50 MW per beam expands the CEPC's capability to generate 4.3 million Higgs bosons,facilitating precise measurements of Higgs coupling at sub-percent levels,exceeding the precision expected from the HL-LHC by an order of *** Technical Design Report(TDR)follows the Preliminary Conceptual Design Report(Pre-CDR,2015)and the Conceptual Design Report(CDR,2018),comprehensively detailing the machine's layout,performance metrics,physical design and analysis,technical systems design,R&D and prototyping efforts,and associated civil engineering ***,it includes a cost estimate and a preliminary construction timeline,establishing a framework for forthcoming engineering design phase and site selection *** is anticipated to begin around 2027-2028,pending government approval,with an estimated duration of 8 *** commencement of experiments and data collection could potentially be initiated in the mid-2030s.

Objective:To analyze the overall survival(OS)of elderly acute myeloid leukemia(AML)patients treated with oral arsenic-containing qinghuang Powder(青黄散,QHP)or low-intensity chemotherapy(liC).Methods:Forty-two elderly AML patients treated with intravenous or subcutaneous liC(1 month for each course,at least 3 courses)or oral QHP(3 months for each course,at least 2 courses)were retrospectively analyzed from January 2015 to December *** main endpoints of analysis were OS and 1-,2-,3-year OS rates of patients,*** the adverse reactions induding bone marrow suppression,digestive tract discomfort and myocardia injury were ***:Out of 42 elderly AML patients,22 received liC treatment and 20 received QHP treatment,according to patients'*** was no significant difference on OS between liC and QHP patients(13.0 months vs.13.5 months,P>0.05).There was no significant difference on OS rates between liC and QHP groups at 1 year(59.1%vs.70.0%),2 years(13.6%vs.15%),and 3 years(4.6%vs.5.0%,all P>0.05).Furthermore,there was no significant difference of OS on prognosis stratification of performance status>2(12 months vs.12 months),age>75 year-old(12.0 months vs.12.5 months),hematopoietic stem cell transplant comorbidity index>2(12 months vs.13 months),poor cytogenetics(12 months vs.8 months),and diagnosis of secondary AML(10 months vs.14 months)between liC and QHP patients(P>0.05).Conclusion:QHP may be an alternative treatment for elderly AML patients refusing liC therapy.

Veins are easy to obtain,have low immunogenicity,and induce a relatively weak inflammatory ***,veins have the potential to be used as conduits for nerve ***,because of the presence of venous valves and the great elasticity of the venous wall,the vein is not conducive to nerve *** this study,a novel tissue engineered nerve graft was constructed by combining normal dissected nerve microtissue with an autologous vein graft for repairing 10-mm peripheral nerve defects in *** with rats given the vein graft alone,rats given the tissue engineered nerve graft had an improved sciatic static index,and a higher amplitude and shorter latency of compound muscle action ***,rats implanted with the microtissue graft had a higher density and thickness of myelinated nerve fibers and reduced gastrocnemius muscle atrophy compared with rats implanted with the vein ***,the tissue engineered nerve graft had a lower ability to repair the defect than autogenous nerve *** summary,although the tissue engineered nerve graft constructed with autologous vein and nerve microtissue is not as effective as autologous nerve transplantation for repairing long-segment sciatic nerve defects,it may nonetheless have therapeutic potential for the clinical repair of long sciatic nerve *** study was approved by the Experimental Animal Ethics Committee of Chinese PLA General Hospital(approval No.2016-x9-07)on September 7,2016.

Background:The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)has affected approximately 2 million individuals worldwide;however,data regarding fatal cases have been ***:To report the clinical features of 162 fatal cases of COVID-19 from 5 hospitals in Wuhan between December 30,2019 and March 12,***:The demographic data,signs and symptoms,clinical course,comorbidities,laboratory findings,computed tomographic(CT)scans,treatments,and complications of the patients with fatal cases were retrieved from electronic medical ***:The median patient age was 69.5(interquartile range:63.0–77.25)years,and 80%of the patients were over 61 years.A total of 112(69.1%)patients were ***(45.1%)was the most common comorbidity,while 59(36.4%)patients had no *** admission,131(81.9%)patients had severe or critical COVID-19,whereas 39(18.1%)patients with hypertension or chronic lung disease had moderate *** total,126(77.8%)patients received antiviral treatment,while 132(81.5%)patients received glucocorticoid treatment.A total of 116(71.6%)patients were admitted to the intensive care unit(ICU),and 137(85.1%)patients received mechanical *** patients received mechanical ventilation before ICU *** 93.2%of the patients developed respiratory failure or acute respiratory distress *** were no significant differences in the inhospital survival time among the hospitals(P=0.14).Conclusion:Young patients with moderate COVID-19 without comorbidity at admission could also develop fatal *** in-hospital survival time of the fatal cases was similar among the hospitals of different levels in Wuhan.

The Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST, also called the Guo Shou Jing Telescope) is a special reflecting Schmidt telescope. LAMOST’s special design allows both a large aperture (effective aperture of 3.6 m–4.9 m) and a wide field of view (FOV) (5°). It has an innovative active reflecting Schmidt configuration which continuously changes the mirror’s surface that adjusts during the observation process and combines thin deformable mirror active optics with segmented active optics. Its primary mirror (6.67m×6.05 m) and active Schmidt mirror (5.74m×4.40 m) are both segmented, and composed of 37 and 24 hexagonal sub-mirrors respectively. By using a parallel controllable fiber positioning technique, the focal surface of 1.75 m in diameter can accommodate 4000 optical fibers. Also, LAMOST has 16 spectrographs with 32 CCD cameras. LAMOST will be the telescope with the highest rate of spectral acquisition. As a national large scientific project, the LAMOST project was formally proposed in 1996, and approved by the Chinese government in 1997. The construction started in 2001, was completed in 2008 and passed the official acceptance in June 2009. The LAMOST pilot survey was started in October 2011 and the spectroscopic survey will launch in September 2012. Up to now, LAMOST has released more than 480 000 spectra of objects. LAMOST will make an important contribution to the study of the large-scale structure of the Universe, structure and evolution of the Galaxy, and cross-identification of multiwaveband properties in celestial objects.
