Highly-efficient oxidation of 5-hydroxymethylfurtural(HMF) to 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid(FDCA) at low temperature with air as the oxidant is still ***,inspired by the respirato ry electron transport chain(ETC) of living cells mediated by electron carriers,we constructed artificial ETCs and transformed liquid flow fuel cells(LFFCs) to flexible reactors for efficient oxidation of HMF to produce FDCA under mild *** LFFC reactor employed an electrodeposition modified nickel foam as an anode to promote HMF oxidation and(VO_(2))_(2)SO_(4) as a cathode electron carrier to facilitate the electron transfer to *** reaction rate could be easily controlled by selecting the anode catalyst,adjusting the external loading and changing the cathodic electron carrier or oxidants.A maximal power density of 44.9 mW cm^(-2) at room temperature was achieved,while for FDCA production,short-circuit condition was preferred to achieve quick transfer of *** a single batch operation with 0.1 M initial HMF,FDCA yield reached 97.1%.By fed-batch operation,FDCA concentration reached 144.5 g L^(-1) with a total yield of 96%.Ni^(2+)/Ni^(3.) redox couple was the active species mediating the electron transfer,while both experimental and DFT calculation results indicated that HMFCA pathway was the preferred reaction mechanism.

Ruminants play a critical role in our food system by converting plant biomass that humans cannot or choose not to consume into edible high-quality ***,ruminant excreta is a significant source of nitrous oxide(N_(2)O),a potent greenhouse gas with a long-term global warming potential 298 times that of carbon *** phytochemicals or forages containing phytochemicals have shown the potential to improve the efficiency of nitrogen(N)utilization and decrease N_(2)O emissions from the excreta of *** inclusion of tannins can shift more of the excreted N to the feces,alter the urinary N composition and consequently reduce N_(2)O emissions from *** oils or saponins could inhibit rumen ammonia production and decrease urinary N *** grazed pastures,large amounts of glucosinolates or aucubin can be introduced into pasture soils when animals consume plants rich in these compounds and then excrete them or their metabolites in the urine or *** inhibitory compounds are excreted in the urine,they would be directly applied to the urine patch to reduce nitrification and subsequent N_(2)O *** phytochemicals’role in sustainable ruminant production is undeniable,but much uncertainty ***,transient effects,and adverse effects limit the effectiveness of these phytochemicals for reducing N *** this review,we will identify some current phytochemicals found in feed that have the potential to manipulate ruminant N excretion or mitigate N_(2)O production and deliberate the challenges and opportunities associated with using phytochemicals or forages rich in phytochemicals as dietary strategies for reducing N excretion and excreta-derived N_(2)O emissions.

Previous studies have confirmed that acupuncture for irritable bowel syndrome(IBS)provided an additional benefit over usual care ***,we performed a multicenter,randomized,sham-controlled trial to assess the efficacy and safety of acupuncture versus sham acupuncture for refractory IBS in patients in the context of conventional *** in the acupuncture and sham acupuncture groups received real or sham acupuncture treatment in 3.sessions per week for a total of 12 *** primary outcome was a change in the IBS–Symptom Severity Scale(IBS-SSS)score from baseline to week 4.A total of 521 participants were screened,and 170 patients(85 patients per group)were enrolled and included in the intention-to-treat *** characteristics were comparable across the two *** baseline to 4 weeks,the IBS-SSS total score decreased by 140.0(95%CI:126.0 to 153.9)in the acupuncture group and 64.4(95%CI:50.4 to 78.3.in the sham acupuncture *** between-group difference was 75.6(95%CI:55.8 to 95.4).Acupuncture efficacy was maintained during the 4-week follow-up *** were no serious adverse *** conclusion,acupuncture provided benefits when combined with treatment as usual,providing more options for the treatment of refractory IBS.

3. samples of Ru Guan porcelain body and 50 samples of Jun Guan porcelain body (both kinds being in different body colors) were selected with the purpose of finding out the source of raw materials and their classification relationship so as to search for ways of non-destructive discrimination. Proton induced X-ray emission (PIXE) has been applied to these samples to determine their chemical elements. The data of seven major chemical elements collected from these samples were further studied through fuzzy cluster analysis. Results indicate that the origin of raw materials of Jun Guan porcelain body samples is comparatively more concentrated in certain places, while that of Ru Guan porcelain body samples is scattered about. The places of origin of raw materials of the majority of Ru Guan and Jun Guan porcelain body samples have something in common, but some differences still exist. It might be an important way for non-destructive discrimination among Ru Guan and Jun Guan porcelains by combining PIXE with fuzzy cluster analysis.

A hypersurface x: M→S^(n+1) without umbilic point is called a Mbius isoparametric hypersurface if its Mbius form Φ=-ρ^(-2)∑_i(ei(H)+∑_j(h_(ij)-Hδ_(ij))e_j(logρ))θ_i vanishes and its Mbius shape operator S=ρ^(-1)(S-Hid) has constant eigenvalues. Here {e_i} is a local orthonormal basis for I=dx·dx with dual basis {θ_i}, II=∑_(ij)h_(ij)θ_iθ_J is the second fundamental form, H=1/n∑_i h_(ij), ρ~2=n/(n-1)(‖II‖~2-nH^2) and S is the shape operator of x. It is clear that any conformal image of a (Euclidean) isoparametric hypersurface in S^(n+1) is a Mbius isoparametric hypersurface, but the converse is not true. In this paper we classify all Mbius isoparametric hypersurfaces in S^(n+1) with two distinct principal curvatures up to Mbius transformations. By using a theorem of Thorbergsson [1] we also show that the number of distinct principal curvatures of a compact Mbius isoparametric hypersurface embedded in S^(n+1) can take only the values 2, 3. 4, 6.

High density and safe storage of hydrogen are the preconditions for the large-scale application of hydrogen ***,the hydrogen storage properties of Ti_(0.6)Zr_(0.4)Cr_(0.6)Mn_(1.4) alloys are systematically studied by introducing Y element instead of Ti element through vacuum arc *** the partial substitution of Y,a second phase of rare earth oxide is added in addition to the main suction hydrogen phase,C14 Laves *** to the unique properties of rare earth elements,the partial substitution of Y can not only improve the activation properties and plateau pressure of the alloys,but also increase the effective hydrogen storage capacity of the *** comprehensive properties of hydrogen storage alloys are improved by multidimensional regulation of rare earth *** them,Ti_(0.552)Y_(0.048)Zr_(0.4)Cr_(0.6)Mn_(1.4) has the best comprehensive *** alloy can absorb hydrogen without activation at room temperature and 5 MPa,with a maximum hydrogen storage capacity of 1.98 wt.%.At the same time,it reduces the stability of the hydride and the enthalpy change value,making it easier to release *** theoretical analysis and first-principle simulation,the results show that the substitution of Y element reduces the migration energy barrier of hydrogen and the structural stability of the system,which is conducive to hydrogen *** alloy has superior durability compared to the original alloy,and the capacity retention rate was 96.79%after 100 hydrogen absorption/desorption cycles.
