An Approach for Network Function Combination Based on Least Busy Placement Algorithm

Recently, integrating Softwaredefined networking(SDN) and network functions virtualization(NFV) are proposed to address the issue that difficulty and cost of hardwarebased and proprietary middleboxes management. However, it lacks of a framework that orchestrates network functions to service chain in the network cooperatively. In this paper, we propose a function combination framework that can dynamically adapt the network based on the integration NFV and SDN. There are two main contributions in this paper. First, the function combination framework based on the integration of SDN and NFV is proposed to address the function combination issue, including the architecture of Service Deliver Network, the port types representing traffic directions and the explanation of terms. Second, we formulate the issue of load balance of function combination as the model minimizing the standard deviations of all servers' loads and satisfying the demand of performance and limit of resource. The least busy placement algorithm is introduced to approach optimal solution of the problem. Finally, experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can combine functions in an efficient and scalable way and ensure the load balance of the network.

A series of novel benzothiazole derivatives bearing semicarbazone as a linker was designed and synthe- sized, and their in vitro antitumor activities were evaluated against four cancer cell lines（HT29, H460, A549 and MDA-MB-231）. Most of them showed moderate to excellent activity against all the tested cell lines. Among them, compounds 12a--12i with fluoro-substituted benzyl-1H-indole moiety displayed more potent activity than those with phenyl moiety. The most promising compound 12d exhibited excellent antitumor activity with IC50 values of 0.015, 0.28, 1.53 and 0.68 ***/L against the four tested cell lines respectively.

Ecotoxicity assessment of soil irrigated with domestic wastewater using different extractions

The toxicity of soil irrigated with treated domestic wastewater （site A） and untreated gray wastewater （site B） were investigated. Soil extracts were prepared using distilled water, acid solvent （0.1 mol·L-1 HCl）, and organic solvent （acetone：petroleum ether：cyclohexane= 1：1：1） to understand the type of pollutants responsible for the ecotoxicity associated with wastewater irrigation. The soil toxicity was assessed using a luminescence inhibition assay with Vibrio fischeri for acute toxicity, a micronucleus assay with Vicia faba root tips and a single cell gel electrophoresis assay of mice lymphocytes for genotoxicity. The physicochemical properties and the heavy metal （HM） contents of the irrigated soil were also analyzed. The results indicated that the wastewater irrigation at site A had no effects on the soil properties. With the exception of Pb, Zn, Fe, and Mn, the accumulation of HMs （Cu, Ni, and Cr） occurred. However, the irrigation at site A did not result in obvious acute toxicity or genotoxicity in the soil. The soil properties changed greatly, and HMs （Cu, Ni, and Cr） accumulated in site B. There were significant increases in the acute toxic and genotoxic effects in the soils from site B. The ecotoxicity in site B came primarily from organic-extractable pollutants.

In applications such as parallel mesh refinement,it remains a challenging issue to ensure the refined surface respects the original Computer-Aided Design(CAD)model *** this paper,an ultralight geometry processing library is developed to resolve this issue effectively and ***,we say the kernel is ultralight because it has a very small set of data-structures and algorithms by comparison with industrial-level geometry *** the library,a simplified surface boundary representation(B-rep)and a radial edge structure are developed respectively to depict the geometry model and the surface mesh,plus hash tables that record the connections between the geometry model and the surface *** on these data structures,a set of efficient algorithms are developed,which initializes the connection tables,projects a point back to the original geometry,*** these data-structure and algorithmic infrastructures set up,the callings of eight well-designed Application Programming Interfaces(APIs)are powerful enough to enable the parallel mesh refinement algorithm outputs a mesh respecting the input CAD model *** experiments will be finally presented to evaluate the performance of the overall parallel mesh refinement algorithm and the algorithms in relation with the developed library.

A series of novel 4-phenoxyquinoline derivatives containing 3-amino-2-cyano-acrylamide framework was designed and synthesized, and the in vitro cytotoxic activities of them against five cancer cell lines（HT-29, H460, A549, MKN-45, and U87MG） were evaluated. Most of the compounds exhibited moderate-to-significant cytotoxicity and high selectivity against one or more cell lines as compared with Foretinib. The studies of their preliminary structure-activity relationships（SARs） indicate that the compounds containing methyl groups, especially methyl groups at 4-position of the phenyl ring（moiety B） are more effective. Among them, compound 36 shows the most potent anti- tumor activities with IC50 values of 0.04, 0.09, 0.67, 0.39 and l. 10 μmol/L against HT-29, H460, A549, MKN-45 and U87MG cell lines, respectively.

Soybean mosaic virus(SMV),an RNA virus,is the most common and destructive pathogenic virus in soybean *** newly developed CRISPR/Cas immune system has provided a novel strategy for improving plant resistance to viruses;hence,this study aimed to engineer SMV resistance in soybean using this ***,multiple sgRNAs were designed to target positive-and/or negative-sense strands of the SMV HC-Pro ***,the corresponding CRISPR/CasRx vectors were constructed and transformed into *** inoculation with SMV,39.02%,35.77%,and 18.70%of T_(1)plants were confirmed to be highly resistant(HR),resistant(R),and mildly resistant(MR)to SMV,respectively,whereas only 6.50%were identified as susceptible(S).Additionally,qRT-PCR and DAS-ELISA showed that,both at 15 and 30 d post-inoculation(dpi),SMV accumulation significantly decreased or was even undetectable in HR and R plants,followed by MR and S ***,the expression level of the CasRx gene varied in almost all T_(1)plants with different resistance level,both at 15 and 30 ***,when SMV resistance was evaluated in the T_(2)generation,the results were similar to those recorded for the T_(1)*** findings provide new insights into the application of the CRISPR/CasRx system for soybean improvement and offer a promising alternative strategy for breeding for resistance to biotic stress that will contribute to the development of SMV-immune soybean germplasm to accelerate progress towards greater soybean crop productivity.
