Age-related osteoporosis is associated with the reduced capacity of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells （BMSCs） to differentiate into osteoblasts instead of adipocytes. However, the molecular mechanisms that decide the fate of BMSCs remain unclear. In our study, microRNA-23a, and microRNA-23b （miR-23a/b） were found to be markedly downregulated in BMSCs of aged mice and humans. The overexpression of miR-23a/b in BMSCs promoted osteogenic differentiation, whereas the inhibition of miR-23a/b increased adipogenic differentiation. Transmembrane protein 64 （Tmem64）, which has expression levels inversely related to those of miR-23a/b in aged and young mice, was identified as a major target of miR-23a/b during BMSC differentiation. In conclusion, our study suggests that miR-23a/b has a critical role in the regulation of mesenchymal lineage differentiation through the suppression of Tmem64.

The selection of chemical reactions is directly related to the quality of synthesis pathways,so a reasonable reaction evaluation metric plays a crucial role in the design and planning of synthesis *** reaction conditions also need to be considered in synthesis pathway design,a reaction metric that combines reaction time,temperature,and yield is required for chemical reactions of different reaction *** this study,a chemical reaction graph descriptor which includes the atom-atom mapping relationship is proposed to effectively describe ***,through pre-training using graph contrastive learning and fine-tuning through supervised learning,we establish a model for generating the probability of reaction superiority(RSscore).Finally,to validate the effectiveness of the current evaluation index,RSscore is applied in two applications,namely reaction evaluation and synthesis routes analysis,which proves that the RSscore provides an important agents-considered evaluation criterion for computer-aided synthesis planning(CASP).

Electrocatalytic overall water splitting(OWS),a pivotal approach in addressing the global energy crisis,aims to produce hydrogen and ***,most of the catalysts in powder form are adhesively bounding to the electrodes,resulting in catalyst detachment by bubble generation and other uncertain interference,and eventually reducing the OWS *** surmount this challenge,we synthesized a hybrid material of Co_(3)S_(4)-pyrolysis lotus fiber(labeled as Co_(3)S_(4)-p LF)textile by hydrothermal and hightemperature pyrolysis processes for electrocatalytic *** to the natural LF textile exposing the uniformly distributed functional groups(AOH,ANH_(2),etc.)to anchor Co_(3)S_(4)nanoparticles with hierarchical porous structure and outstanding hydrophily,the hybrid Co_(3)S_(4)-p LF catalyst shows low overpotentials at 10 m A cm^(-2)(η_(10,HER)=100 m Vη_(10,OER)=240 mV)alongside prolonged operational stability during electrocatalytic *** calculations reveal that the electron transfer from p LF to Co_(3)S_(4)in the hybrid Co_(3)S_(4)-p LF is beneficial to the electrocatalytic *** work will shed light on the development of nature-inspired carbon-based materials in hybrid electrocatalysts for OWS.

Growth differentiation factor 11 （GDF11） is an important circulating factor that regulates aging. However, the role of GDF11 in bone metabolism remains unclear. The present study was undertaken to investigate the relationship between serum GDF11 level, bone mass, and bone turnover markers in postmenopausal Chinese women. Serum GDF11 level, bone turnover biochemical markers, and bone mineral density （BMD） were determined in 169 postmenopausal Chinese women （47-78 years old）. GDF11 serum levels increased with aging. There were negative correlations between GDF11 and BMD at the various skeletal sites. After adjusting for age and body mass index （BMI）, the correlations remained statistically significant. In the multiple linear stepwise regression analysis, age or years since menopause, BMI, GDF11, and estradiol were independent predictors of BMD. A significant negative correlation between GDF11 and bone alkaline phosphatase （BAP） was identified and remained significant after adjusting for age and BMI. No significant correlation was noted between cross-linked N-telopeptides of type I collagen （NTX） and GDF11. In conclusion, GDF11 is an independent negative predictor of BMD and correlates with a biomarker of bone formation, BAP, in postmenopausal Chinese women. GDF11 potentially exerts a negative effect on bone mass by regulating bone formation.

Multicharged supramolecular assemblies based on luminescent macrocycle play an important role in extending their optical properties and ***,we reported macrocyclic supramolecular assemblies based on luminescent terphen[3]arene sulfate(TP[3]AS)and tetraphenylethylene pyridinium(TPE-4Py)through electrostatic interactions,host-guest encapsulation andπ-πstacking interactions.F?rster resonance energy transfer(FRET)process from TP[3]AS to TPE-4Py was achieved with the energy transfer efficiency of 99.9%,accompanied by TPE-4Py fluorescence emission bathochromic shifted of 15 nm and enhanced by 1.68 times in PBS *** contrast,other non-luminescent sulfato-β-cyclodextrin and sulfobutylether-β-cyclodextrin only can enhance the fluorescence intensity of TPE-4Py without bathochromic *** to the strong fluorescence and good stability of TPE-4Py@TP[3]AS,it can be used for optical imaging in living cells,which provided an effective approach for the construction of assembling-confined luminescent biomaterials.

Clinical significance of serum miR-21 in breast cancer compared with CA153 and CEA

Objective： MicroRNA-21 （miR-21） has been shown to be a key regulator of carcinogenesis. There were few reports about the comparison of serum miR-21 with conventional tumor markers. This study aimed to explore the diagnostic value of circulating miR-21 as a tumor marker in breast cancer （BC） and compare it with CA15 3 and carcinoembryonic antigen （CEA）. Methods： Circulating miR-16 and miR-21 were amplified and quantitatively detected by real-time PCR in 89 BC patients and 55 healthy controls. The levels of CA153 and CEA were measured through assays. Then the sensitivity in diagnosis of BC was compared among miR-21, CA153 and CEA. Results： The level of serum miR-21 was significantly higher in BC patients than controls （P〈0.001）. The sensitivity and specificity of miR-21 were 87.6% and 87.3%, respectively, whereas the sensitivities of CEA and CA153 were only 22.47% and 15.73%. Con^lusions： Compared with CEA and CA153, serum miR-21 has a higher sensitivity in diagnosis of BC. Although not correlated with the status of ER, PR and clinical stages, serum miR-21 may be a potential diagnostic indicator for BC, especially for the early stage.

Background:Acute kidney injury(AKI)is a common and serious complication following lung transplantation(LTx),and it is associated with high mortality and *** study assessed the incidence of AKI after LTx and analyzed the associated perioperative factors and clinical ***:This retrospective study included all adult LTx recipients at the China-Japan Friendship Hospital in Beijing between March 2017 and December *** outcomes were AKI incidence,risk factors,mortality,and kidney *** analysis was performed to identify independent risk *** analysis was presented using the Kaplan-Meier ***:AKI occurred in 137 of the 191 patients(71.7%),with transient AKI in 43(22.5%)and persistent AKI in 94(49.2%).AKI stage 1 occurred in 27/191(14.1%),stage 2 in 46/191(24.1%),and stage 3 in 64/191(33.5%)of the AKI *** replacement therapy(RRT)was administered to 35/191(18.3%)of the *** sex,older age,mechanical ventilation(MV),severe hypotension,septic shock,multiple organ dysfunction(MODS),prolonged extracorporeal membrane oxygenation(ECMO),reintubation,and nephrotoxic agents were associated with AKI(P<0.050).Persistent AKI was independently associated with pre-operative pulmonary hypertension,severe hypotension,post-operative MODS,and nephrotoxic *** hypotension,septic shock,MODS,reintubation,prolonged MV,and ECMO during or after LTx were related to severe AKI(stage 3)(P<0.050).Patients with persistent and severe AKI had a significantly longer duration of MV,longer duration in the intensive care unit(ICU),worse downstream kidney function,and reduced survival(P<0.050).Conclusions:AKI is common after LTx,but the pathogenic mechanism of AKI is complicated,and prerenal causes are *** and severe AKI were associated with poor short-and long-term kidney function and reduced survival in LTx patients.

IBIS模型是陆地碳循环模拟的有利工具,土壤呼吸是陆地碳循环的关键生态学过程,利用IBIS模型模拟估算土壤呼吸对陆地碳循环和全球变化研究具有重要意义。在地形数据、植被参数、土壤质地参数和气象数据支持下,利用改造后的IBIS模型模拟2004年张家沟集水区5种森林类型的土壤呼吸,以实测数据对模拟结果进行验证,并分析土壤呼吸时空格局及其与土壤温湿度的关系。结果表明:(1)改造后的IBIS模型模拟的土壤呼吸值与实测值相关性显著,可较好地用于集水区尺度的森林土壤呼吸模拟估算。(2)土壤呼吸年均值为571 gC m-2a-1,年土壤呼吸空间格局与生长季土壤呼吸空间格局相似,均表现为高值区主要分布在北部、西南和东南区域,低值区主要分布在沟谷附近,该格局与集水区的地形、植被及其组合等因素有关。(3)生长季内,5种森林类型土壤呼吸的季节性变化均呈单峰曲线形式,土壤呼吸峰值均出现在7月,其中落叶松林峰值最低,为85.5gC/m2,杂木林峰值最高,为146.3 gC/m2。(4)5种森林类型的土壤呼吸值与5 cm深土壤温度存在极显著的指数关系,与土壤湿度的相关性较低,土壤温度的变化可以解释土壤呼吸约70%的季节变化。
