Bioinspired Tactile Sensation Based on Synergistic Microcrack-Bristle Structure Design toward High Mechanical Sensitivity and Direction-Resolving Capability

Natural tactile sensation is complex,which involves not only contact force intensity detection but also the perception of the force direction,the surface texture,and other mechanical parameters.Nevertheless,the vast majority of the developed tactile sensors can only detect the normal force,but usually cannot resolve shear force or even distinguish the directions of the force.here,we present a new paradigm of bioinspired tactile sensors for resolving both the intensity and the directions of mechanical stimulations via synergistic microcrack-bristle structure design and cross-shaped configuration engineering.The microcrack sensing structure gives high mechanical sensitivity to the tactile sensors,and the synergistic bristle structure further amplifies the sensitivity of the sensors.The cross-shaped configuration engineering of the synergistic microcrack-bristle structure further endows the tactile sensors with good capability to detect and distinguish the directions of the applied mechanical forces.The as-fabricated tactile sensors exhibit a high sensitivity(25.76 N^(−1)),low detection limit(5.4 mN),desirable stability(over 2,500 cycles),and good capability to resolve both mechanical intensity and directional features.As promising application scenarios,surface texture recognition and biomimetic path explorations are successfully demonstrated with these tactile sensors.This newly proposed tactile sensation strategy and technology have great potential applications in ingenious tactile sensation and construction of various robotic and bionic prostheses with high operational dexterity.

Solid polymer composite electrolytes possess the benefits of superior compatibility with electrodes and good thermal characteristics for more secure energy storage equipment.herein,a new gel polymer electrolyte(GPE)containing NH_(2)-MIL-53(Al),[PP_(13)][TFSI],LiTFSI,and PVDF-HFP was prepared using a simple method of solution casting.The effects of encapsulating different ratios of ionic liquid([PP_(13)][TFSI])into the micropores of functionalized metal-organic frameworks(NH_(2)-MIL-53(Al))on the electrochemical properties were compared.XRD,SEM,nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherms,and electrochemical measurements were conducted.This GPE demonstrates a superior ionic conductivity of 8.08×10^(-4)S·cm^(-1)at 60℃and can sustain a discharge specific capacity of 156.6 mA·h·g^(-1)at 0.2 C for over 100 cycles.This work might offer a potential approach to alleviate the solid-solid contact with the solid-state electrolyte and electrodes and broaden a new window for the creation of all-solid-state batteries.

Interface modification of zinc（Zn） metal anode with conductive three-dimensional（3D） structure is widely utilized in zinc ion batteries. However, the uniformity of zinc nucleation on surface microstructure is rarely investigated which exacerbates the tip effect and raises unstable risk. herein, a strategy via the initial copper（Cu）alloying and following sulfurization treatment is reported to accomplish boosted uniform nucleation of zinc on the modified layer with dense microstructures. This epitaxial sulfide phase not only improves the wetting area to revitalize the microstructural surface, but also forms a bifunctional zincophilic Cu2S/CuZn alloy interface layer,which combines the merits of guided local ions diffusion and improved zinc nucleation environment. As a result, a homogeneous growth of zinc on the 3D structural substrate can be realized, and cycling stability of the achieved Cu2S/CuZn electrode with a practical capacity of 1 mAh cm-2under 1 mA cm-2or amplified current density of 10 mA cm-2is significantly enhanced. This work provides an epitaxial strategy in constructing a bifunctional zincophilic interface layer for boosting zinc nucleation, and offers a new perspective on the modification of 3D surface structure for stabilization of zinc anode.

Highly Conductive Ag/pCF/MVQ Composite Rubber for Efficient Electromagnetic Interference Shielding

In this study,flexible and highly conductive composite rubber at low filler content was successfully prepared through polydopamine-assisted electroless silver plating plus mechanical mixing.Firstly,carbon fibers(CF)were activated by polydopamine(PDA)to improve the surface activity by self-polymerization reaction.Next,because of the metal chelating ability of PDA,silver layer was firmly deposited on the surface of CF through a facile electroless silver plating method.Finally,flexible silver-plated carbon fibers(Ag/pCF)silicone rubber composites prepared by mechanical mixing.By using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)and X-ray diffraction(XRD),the chemical composition and crystal structure of Ag/pCF were examined,and scanning electron microscopy(SEM)was used to assess the surface morphology of the Ag/pCF.The results showed that a uniform and dense silver layer was formed on the surface of the CF,and the conductivity of the Ag/pCF could reach 7885 S/cm.It was noteworthy that the composite rubber filled with only 45 phr Ag/pCF had a high electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness(100 dB)due to the low density and high aspect ratio of Ag/pCF.The composite rubber has excellent potential for application in the field of electromagnetic interference shielding.

The practical application of lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries,as promising next-generation batteries,is hindered by their shuttle effect and the slow redox kinetics.herein,a tungsten and molybdenum nitride heterostructure functionalized with hollow metal-organic framework-derived carbon(W_(2)N/Mo_(2)N)was proposed as the sulfur host.The hollow spherical structure provides storage space for sulfur,enhances electrical conductivity,and inhibits volume expansion.The metal atoms in the nitrides bonded with lithium polysulfides(Li PSs)through Lewis covalent bonds,enhancing the high catalytic activity of the nitrides and effectively reducing the energy barrier of Li PSs redox conversion.Moreover,the high intrinsic conductivity of nitrides and the ability of the heterostructure interface to accelerate electron/ion transport improved the Li+transmission.By leveraging the combined properties of strong adsorption and high catalytic activity,the sulfur host effectively inhibited the shuttle effect and accelerated the redox kinetics of Li PSs.High-efficiency Li+transmission,strong adsorption,and the efficient catalytic conversion activities of Li PSs in the heterostructure were experimentally and theoretically verified.The results indicate that the W_(2)N/Mo_(2)N cathode provides stable,and long-term cycling(over 2000 cycles)at 3 C with a low attenuation rate of 0.0196%per cycle.The design strategy of a twinborn nitride heterostructure thus provides a functionalized solution for advanced Li-S batteries.

Recent progresses in the development of tubular segmented-in-series solid oxide fuel cells:Experimental and numerical study

Solid oxide fuel cells(SOFCs)have attracted a great deal of interest because they have the highest efficiency without using any noble metal as catalysts among all the fuel cell technologies.However,traditional SOFCs suffer from having a higher volume,current leakage,complex connections,and difficulty in gas sealing.To solve these problems,Rolls-Royce has fabricated a simple design by stacking cells in series on an insulating porous support,resulting in the tubular segmented-in-series solid oxide fuel cells(SIS-SOFCs),which achieved higher output voltage.This work systematically reviews recent advances in the structures,preparation methods,perform-ances,and stability of tubular SIS-SOFCs in experimental and numerical studies.Finally,the challenges and future development of tubular SIS-SOFCs are also discussed.The findings of this work can help guide the direction and inspire innovation of future development in this field.

CORMAND2--针对工业机器人的欺骗攻击

Industrial robots are becoming increasingly vulnerable to cyber incidents and attacks,particularly with the dawn of the Industrial Internet-of-Things(IIoT).To gain a comprehensive understanding of these cyber risks,vulnerabilities of industrial robots were analyzed empirically,using more than three million communication packets collected with testbeds of two ABB IRB120 robots and five other robots from various original equipment manufacturers(OEMs).This analysis,guided by the confidentiality-integrity-availability(CIA)triad,uncovers robot vulnerabilities in three dimensions:confidentiality,integrity,and availability.These vulnerabilities were used to design Covering Robot Manipulation via Data Deception(CORMAND2),an automated cyber-physical attack against industrial robots.CORMAND2 manipulates robot operation while deceiving the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition(SCADA)system that the robot is operating normally by modifying the robot’s movement data and data deception.CORMAND2 and its capability of degrading the manufacturing was validated experimentally using the aforementioned seven robots from six different OEMs.CORMAND2 unveils the limitations of existing anomaly detection systems,more specifically the assumption of the authenticity of SCADA-received movement data,to which we propose mitigations for.

Review and comparison of methods and benchmarks for automatic modal identification based on stabilization diagram

Automatic modal identification via automatically interpreting the stabilization diagram provides key technique in bridge structural health monitoring.This paper reviews the progress in the area of automatic modal identification based on interpreting the stabilization diagram.The whole identification process is divided into four steps from establishing the stabilization diagram to removing the outliers in the identification results.The criteria and algorithms used in each step in the existing studies are carefully summarized and classified.Comparisons between typical methods in cleaning and interpreting the stabilization diagram are also conducted.Real structure benchmarks used in the existing studies to validate the proposed automatic modal identification methods are also summarized.Based on the review and comparison,the specific ratio method for cleaning the stabilization diagram,the hierarchical clustering method for interpreting the stabilization diagram and the adjusted boxplot for removing the outliers in the identification results are the most suitable methods for each step.The key point of automatic modal identification based on interpreting the stabilization diagram has also discussed,and it is recommended to pay more attention to cleaning the stabilization diagram.Future study about automatic modal identification under situation with very few sensors deployed should be more concerned.This review aims to help researchers and practitioners in implementing existing automatic modal identification algorithms effectively and developing more suitable and practical methods for civil engineering structures in the future.

High-Order Two-Scale Asymptotic Paradigm for the Elastodynamic Homogenization of Periodic Composites

The classical two-scale asymptotic paradigm provides macroscopic and microscopic analyses for the elastodynamic homogenization of periodic composites based on the spatial or/and temporal variable,which offers an approximate framework for the asymptotic homogenization analysis of the motion equation.However,in this framework,the growing complexity of the homogenization formulation gradually becomes an obstacle as the asymptotic order increases.In such a context,a compact,fast,and accurate asymptotic paradigm is developed.This work reviews the high-order spatial two-scale asymptotic paradigm with the effective displacement field representation and optimizes the implementation by symmetrizing the tensor to be determined.Remarkably,the modified implementation gets rid of the excessive memory consumption required for computing the high-order tensor,which is demonstrated by representative one-and two-dimensional cases.The numerical results show that(1)the contrast of the material parameters between media in composites directly affects the convergence rate of the asymptotic results for the homogenization of periodic composites,(2)the convergence error of the asymptotic results mainly comes from the truncation error of the modified asymptotic homogenized motion equation,and(3)the excessive norm of the normalized wavenumber vector in the two-dimensional inclusion case may lead to a non-convergence of the asymptotic results.

Optimal Model Average Prediction in Orthogonal Kriging Models

The main objective of this paper is to consider model averaging methods for kriging models.This paper proposes a Mallows model averaging procedure for the orthogonal kriging model and demonstrate the asymptotic optimality of the model averaging estimators in terms of mean square error.Simulation studies are conducted to evaluate the performance of the proposed method and compare it with the competitors to demonstrate its superiority.The authors also analyse a real dataset for an illustration.
