A one-step,tunable method of selective reactive sputter deposition as a wrinkling approach for silver/polydimethylsiloxane for electrically conductive pliable surfaces

The wrinkle period and morphology of a metal thin film on an elastic substrate is typically controlled by modifying the substrate before carrying out additional metal deposition ***,we show that a simultaneously selective and reactive sputtering plasma that modifies the surface of a polydimethylsiloxane(pDMS)substrate while not reacting with the metal during the deposition process decreases the wrinkle wavelength and induces additional wrinkling components and features such as ripples or *** selective reaction of the nitrogen plasma with pDMS functionalizes the siloxane surface into silicon *** hardens the immediate surface of pDMS,with a quadratic increase in the Young’s modulus as a function of the sputtering flow *** increase in the critical strain mismatch and the corresponding presence of folds in the nitrogen-modified wrinkled silver film form a suitable plasmonic platform for surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy(SERS),yielding an enhancement factor of 4.8×105 for detecting *** enhancement is linked to the emergence of electromagnetic hotspots from surface plasmon polariton coupling between the folds/wrinkles,which in turn enables the detection of low concentrations of organics using ***,when strained,the nitrogen-modified wrinkles enhance electrical conductivity by a factor of 12 compared with unmodified ***,the optical properties of the substrate can be tuned by altering the N2 *** simple addition of nonreactive nitrogen to silver sputtering enables simultaneous pDMS hardening and growth of the silver film and together provide a new avenue for tuning wrinkling parameters and enhancing the electrical conductivity of pliable surfaces.

A general mirror equivalence theorem for coset vertex operator algebras

We prove a general mirror duality theorem for a subalgebra U of a simple conformal vertex algebra A and its commutant V=ComA(U).Specifically,we assume that A≌■_(i∈I)U_(i)■V_(i) as a U■V-module,where the U-modules Uiare simple and distinct and are objects of a semisimple braided ribbon category of Umodules,and the V-modules Viare semisimple and contained in a(not necessarily rigid) braided tensor category of *** also assume U=ComA(V).Under these conditions,we construct a braid-reversed tensor equivalence τ:u_(A)→v_(A),where u_(A)is the semisimple category of U-modules with simple objects Ui,i∈I,and v_(A)is the category of V-modules whose objects are finite direct sums of *** particular,the V-modules Viare simple and distinct,and v_(A)is a rigid tensor *** an application,we find a rigid semisimple tensor subcategory of modules for the Virasoro algebra at central charge 13+6p+6p^(-1),p∈Z_(≥2), which is braided tensor equivalent to an abelian 3-cocycle twist of the category of finite-dimensional ***,the Virasoro vertex operator algebra at central charge 13+6p+6p^(-1)is the pSL_(2)(C)-fixed-point subalgebra of a simple conformal vertex algebra w(-p),analogous to the realization of the Virasoro vertex operator algebra at central charge 13-6p-6p^(-1)as the pSL_(2)(C)-fixed-point subalgebra of the triplet algebra W(p).

Optimization Based on Convergence Velocity and Reliability for Hydraulic Servo System

This article presents an optimal hybrid fuzzy proportion integral derivative （HFpID） controller based on combination of proportion integral derivative （pID） and fuzzy controllers, by which the parameters could be evaluated by global optimization either in convergence velocity or in convergence reliability. Focusing on the nonlinear factors of hydraulic servo system, this article takes advantage of pID and fuzzy logic controller integrated with scaling factors to acquire precise tracking performances. To further improve the performances, it provides new developed optimization with rapid convergence to attain reliable approach probability. Focusing on the performance indictors of evolutionary algorithm, this article presents a new technique to predict reliability of the optimization algorithm. Statistics authenticates the effectiveness and robustness of the optimization. Further, many simulation and experimental results indicate that the optimal HFpID could acquire perfect immunity against parametric uncertainties with external disturbance.

Efficient online portfolio simulation using dynamic moving average model and benchmark index

Online portfolio selection and simulation are some of the most important problems in several research communities,including finance,engineering,statistics,artificial intelligence,machine learning,*** primary aim of online portfolio selection is to determine portfolio weights in every investment period(i.e.,daily,weekly,monthly,etc.)to maximize the investor’s final wealth after the end of investment period(e.g.,1 year or longer).In this paper,we present an efficient online portfolio selection strategy that makes use of market indices and benchmark indices to take advantage of the mean reversal phenomena at minimal *** on empirical studies conducted on recent historical datasets for the period 2000 to 2015 on four different stock markets(i.e.,NYSE,S&p500,DJIA,and TSX),the proposed strategy has been shown to outperform both Anticor and OLMAR—the two most prominent portfolio selection strategies in contemporary literature.

Coastal power plant:a hybrid solar-hydro renewable energy technology

Energy-Momentum Distribution of Gravitational Waves

This paper has been addressed to the well-known problem of energy in gravitational waves. We have investigated the energy of cylindrical gravitational waves in the context of General Relativity and teleparallel theory of gravity. For this purpose, the prescriptions of Einstein, Landau-Lifshitz, Bergmann-Thomson, and Moeller are used in both the theories. It is shown that these energy-momentum complexes do not provide equivalent results in the two theories. However, these turn out to be constant for all the prescriptions except Moeller in both the theories at large distances.

Accelerated ultraviolet weathering investigation on micro-/nano-SiO_(2)filled silicone rubber composites

This study attempts to elucidate whether the addition of micro and/or nano-silica(SiO_(2))particles can enhance the resistance of pure polydimethylsiloxane against synergistic effects of UV,temperature and high-voltage *** types of composites(U-SR,M-SR,MN-SR and N-SR)are fabricated by adding micro and/or nano-silica particles and then subjected to multi-stress degradation in a test *** show that there is an apparent surface discoloration in the form of yellowish pale tint and a significant resistance to hydrophobicity reduction is offered by N-SR and MN-SR followed by M-SR and *** electron microscopy and surface roughness findings proclaimed that N-SR and MN-SR offer excellent resistance against filler exposure and an increase in surface *** is a minor reduction in absorbance level of Si(CH_(3))_(2) and Si-O-Si functional groups of composites but interestingly,hydrophilic hydroxyl group absorbance level is found higher in the U-SR ***,dielectric response measurements indicate considerable sensitivity to weathering with N-SR and MN-SR giving the lowest dielectric *** indicate that the addition of nano-silica to pure and micro-silica filled SR can enhance its UV weathering resistance considerably by building an effective UV shielding layer.

Heart transplantation(HT),the treatment choice of advanced heart failure pa-tients,is proven effective in increasing the survival and functional status of the ***,compared to normal controls,functional status is lower in HT *** given in cardiac rehabilitation has been shown to improve exercise capacity as measured with peak oxygen uptake(VO2 peak)and muscle strength after completion of the program and cessation of exercise results in loss of exercise *** factors related to cardiac denervation and the use of immunosuppressive agents in HT recipients result in functional impairments including cardiovascular,pulmonary,exercise capacity,psychological,and qua-lity of life(QoL)***-intensity interval training(HIIT)is the most common type of exercise used in HT recipients and given as a hospital-based *** of functional impairments was found to have occurred due to primarily musculoskeletal adaptations through improvement of muscle structure and aerobic capacity and cardiovascular *** general,exercise given after transplantation improved VO2 peak significantly and improvement was better in the HIIT group compared to moderate intensity continuous training or no-exercise *** of QoL was ascribed to improve-ment of exercise capacity,symptoms,pulmonary function,physical capacity improve-ment,anxiety,and depression.
