Tumors,due to their diversity and heterogeneity,pose a significant threat to human *** resistance is a prevalent and grave issue in clinical treatment,resulting in treatment failure and cancer *** resistance renders conventional drug therapies ineffective,presenting a substantial challenge to human health and medical *** natural products as potential sources for anti-cancer drugs could lead to the development of innovative and efficacious cancer *** article aims to investigate the health implications of natural products(such as paclitaxel,podophyllotoxin,homoharringtonine,camptothecin,and vinblastine)in the discovery of anti-cancer drugs while discussing the methods and progress made in researching novel anti-cancer drugs derived from natural *** paper discusses the diversity,intricate structures,and target affinity of natural products along with their structural modification techniques,combination therapies utilization possibilities with prodrugs or ***,considering the escalating multidrug resistance observed in tumors nowadays;certain natural products offer new insights and approaches for discovering effective anti-tumor drugs that are crucial for addressing global public health *** challenges faced by natural products during drug development including issues related to bioavailability toxicity concerns as well as limited resources are examined *** opportunities current issues along with future challenges are highlighted aiming at facilitating the clinical translation of original anti-cancer drugs using natural products.

Shenmai Injection Reduces Cardiomyocyte Apoptosis Induced by Doxorubicin through miR-30a/Bcl-2

Objective: To explore the molecular mechanism of Shenmai Injection(SMI) against doxorubicin(DOX) induced cardiomyocyte apoptosis. Methods: A total of 40 specific pathogen-free(SPF) male Sprague Dawley(SD) male rats were divided into 5 groups based on the random number table, including the control group,the model group, miR-30a agomir group, SMI low-dose(SMI-L) group, and SMI high-dose(SMI-H) group, with 8 rats in each group. Except for the control group, the rats were injected weekly with DOX(2 mg/kg) in the tail vein for 4 weeks to induce myocardial injury, and were given different regimens of continuous intervention for 2 *** function was detected by echocardiography and myocardial pathological changes were observed by Van Gieson(VG) staining. Myocardial injury serum markers, including creatine kinase(CK), lactate dehydrogenase(LDH), troponin T(c Tn T), N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide(NT-pro BNP), soluble ST2(sST2), and growth differentiation factor-15(GDF-15) were detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(EliSA). Cardiomyocyte apoptosis was observed by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated biotinylated d UTP triphosphate nick end labeling(TUNEL) and transmission electron microscopy, and the expressions of target proteins and m RNA were detected by Western blot and quantitative real time polymerase chain reaction(qRT-RCR), ***: The treatment with different doses of SMI reduced rat heart mass index and left ventricular mass index(P<0.05), significantly improved the left ventricular ejection fraction(P<0.05), decreased the levels of serum CK,LDH, cTnT, and NT-proBNP(P<0.05 or P<0.01), reduced the levels of serum sST2 and GDF-15(P<0.05 or P<0.01), decreased the collagen volume fraction, reduced the expressions of rat myocardial type Ⅰ and type Ⅲcollagen(P<0.05 or P<0.01), and effectively alleviated myocardial fibrosis. 针对样本熵算法在相空间重构过程中存在冗余运算的问题,通过构建符号变量矩阵的方法,对样本熵算法的相空间重构过程进行替换,建立改进的样本熵算法。白噪声和粉噪声仿真信号分析表明,改进的样本熵算法能有效提取信号的特征,并且具有较高计算效率。以往复压缩机轴承间隙故障为研究对象,应用改进的样本熵算法对其进行特征提取,并与样本熵进行对比,该方法特征提取结果与样本熵算法保持高度一致,算法的计算效率远高于样本熵算法。

Novel modified pectin for heavy metal adsorption

Modified pectin cross-linked with adipic acid, was synthesized and used for heavy metal removal from wastewater. SEM and FTIR were used to investigate its structure and morphology. The modified pectin had a rough, porous phase covered with carboxy groups, resulting a high adsorption capacity. And at the room temperature, the saturated loading capacity for Pb^2＋, Cu^2＋ and Zn^2＋ reached 1.82 retool/g, 1.794 mmol/g and 0.964 retool/g, respectively. The results proved its potential application to remove of the heavy metal.

NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF UPliFT FORCES ON SLAB IN PLUNGE POOL

The mechanism of the fluid-solid coupled vibration is analyzed as the fluctuating pressure acts on the inlet and the outlet slits of a slab. The parameter multinomial method was exploited to calculate the pressure field within the joints of the slabs by solving the basic equations of the oscillation flow. The calculated result shows that the time-averaged uplift increases with the increase of the length of the slab and is large in the middle and is small in both sides. The time-averaged uplift reduces with the increase of water depth, and the fluctuating uplift reduces rapidly with the increase of the thickness of the slit. The calculated result is in agreement with the experimental results.

Novel conservative treatment for peritoneal dialysis-related hydrothorax:Two case reports

BACKGROUND Peritoneal dialysis (PD) is an important renal replacement therapy for patientswith end-stage renal disease. PD-related hydrothorax is a rare but seriouscomplication in PD patients, produced by the movement of peritoneal dialysatethrough pleuroperitoneal fistulas. In previous reports, patients with hydrothoraxsecondary to PD were usually recommended to discontinue PD and transfer tohemodialysis (HD). Herein, we describe another method of managing thiscomplication—with an adjusted PD prescription and continuous drainage ofpleural effusion, patients could continue PD without recurrence of *** SUMMARY In this report, we present the medical records of 2 patients with hydrothoraxsecondary to PD. We recommended intermittent PD with continuous drainage ofpleural effusion. A type 18Ga soft catheter was placed to drain pleural ***-guided thoracentesis was performed, and the soft catheter was placedin the pleural cavity for a long period (3 mo and 2 mo, respectively). The pleuralcatheter was removed when no fluid was drained from the pleural cavity. Afterseveral months, pleuroperitoneal fistulas were closed in both patients and PD wascontinued. These patients did not transfer to HD, had no recurrence ofhydrothorax and were still treated with PD after 1 *** These 2 case reports show that continuous drainage of pleural effusion with an18Ga soft catheter is a useful method for hydrothorax secondary to PD.

sPLA2-IB Level Correlates with Hyperlipidemia and the Prognosis of Idiopathic Membranous Nephropathy

Summary:Recent studies suggested that serum secretory phospholipase A2 group IB(sPLA2-IB)was increased in idiopathic membranous nephropathy(IMN).However,the interference of high lipemia on the sPL.A2-IB levels was not taken into account in these *** present study aimed to investigate the correlation between sPLA2-IB and lipemia,and the clinical merit of sPLA2-IB in the prediction of prognosis of IMN patients.A total of 64 IMN patients,39 immunoglobulin A nephropathy(IgAN)patients and 64 healthy controls were included in the *** levels of serum sPLA2-IB,lipemia and proteinuria were *** IMN patients were followed up for 6 *** stages were made for all IgAN and IMN *** results showed that the levels of serum sPLA2-IB,cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)were significantly higher,and the levels of albumin and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)were significantly lower in IMN patients than in healthy controls and IgAN *** sPLA2-IB levels were also found to be higher in IgAN patients than in heathy controls,but the association of serum sPLA2-IB levels with proteinuria,cholesterol and albumin was only shown in IMN *** against M-type receptor for secretory phospholipase A2(PLA2R1)was positive in 813%IMN *** sPLA2-IB deposition,podocyte fused processes,and density deposition on thickened basement membrane were seen in IMN patients,but not in IgAN *** patients with lower sPLA2-IB and proteinuria levels were found to have better outcome after the 6-month *** IMN patients,sPLA2-IB levels were significantly increased in both serum and renal *** conclusion,serum sPLA2-IB was closely correlated with proteinuria,albumin and cholesterol,and IMN patients with lower sPLA2-IB levels were more likely to achieve a better outcome.
