Prognostic factors affecting postoperative survival of patients with solitary small hepatocellular carcinoma

Background: Small hepatocellular carcinoma(sHCC) is a unique variant of HCC that is characterized by small tumor size(maximum tumor diameter predic≤3 cm) and favorable long?term outcomes. The present study aimed to define clin?icopathologic factors that t survival in patients with s ***: The study population consisted of 335 patients who underwent hepatectomy for solitary s HCC between December 1998 and 2010. Prognostic factors were evaluated using Kaplan–Meier curves and Cox proportional hazard ***: The 5?year overall survival(OS) and recurrence?free survival(RFS) rates were 77.7% and 59.9%, respectively. Kaplan–Meier curves showed that tumor size and vascular invasion had prognostic significance within this relatively selected cohort(P < 0.05). Multivariate analysis confirmed that increased tumor size and vascular invasion were independent prognostic factors for short OS(hazard ratio [HR] = 2.367, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.406–3.985; HR = 2.954, 95% CI 1.781–4.900) and RFS(HR = 1.779, 95% CI 1.259–2.514; HR < 0.05). Importantly, a proposed prognostic scoring model was deri= 1.699, 95% CI 1.165–2.477) in s HCC patients(Pved according to the two variables; tumor size and extent of vascular invasion were significantly associated with OS and RFS in patients with s HCC(P < 0.001).Conclusions: Tumor size and vascular invasion are feasible and useful prognostic factors for s HCC. The proposed prognostic model, based on tumor size and vascular invasion, is informative in predicting survival in s HCC patients undergoing hepatectomy.

Data-driven methods are widely recognized and generate conducive results for online transient stability ***,the tedious and time-consuming process of sample collection is often *** functioning of power systems involves repetitive sample collection due to the constant variations occurring in the operation mode,thereby highlighting the importance of collection *** a means to achieve high sample collection efficiency following the operation mode change,we propose a novel instance-transfer method based on compression and matching strategy,which facilitates the direct acquisition of useful previous samples,used for creating the new sample ***,we present a hybrid model to ensure rationality in the process of sample similarity comparison and selection,where features of analytical modeling with special significance are introduced into data-driven *** the same time,a data-driven method can also be integrated in the hybrid model to achieve rapid error correction of analytical models,enabling fast and accurate post-disturbance transient stability *** a paradigm,we consider a scheme for online critical clearing time estimation,where integrated extended equal area criterion and extreme learning machine are employed as analytical model part and data-driven error correction model part,*** results validate the credible efficacy of the proposed method.

MiRNA profile in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma:Downregulation of miR-143 and miR-145

AIM:To investigate the expression profile of miRNA in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC).METHODS:The expression profile of miRNA in ESCC tissues was analyzed by miRNA *** expression levels of miR-143 and miR-145 in 86 ESCC patients were determined by real-time polymerase chain reaction(PCR) using TaqMan *** mobility effect was estimated by wound-healing using esophageal carcinoma cells transfected with miRNA expression ***:A set of miRNAs was found to be deregulated in the ESCC tissues,and the expression levels of miR-143 and-145 were significantly decreased in most of the ESCC tissues *** miR-143 and miR-145 expression correlated with tumor invasion *** transfection of human esophageal carcinoma cells with miR-143 and miR-145 expression plasmids resulted in a greater inhibition of cell mobility,however,the protein level of the previously reported target of miR-145,FSCN1,did not show any significant ***:These findings suggest that the deregulation of miRNAs plays an important role in the progression of *** miR-143 and miR-145 might act as anti-oncomirs common to ESCC.

Flow Field Characteristics of Multi-Trophic Artificial Reef Based on Computation Fluid Dynamics

On the basis of computational fluid dynamics,the flow field characteristics of multi-trophic artificial reefs,including the flow field distribution features of a single reef under three different velocities and the effect of spacing between reefs on flow scale and the flow state,were *** indicate upwelling,slow flow,and eddy around a single *** velocity,height,and volume of upwelling in front of a single reef were positively correlated with inflow *** length and volume of slow flow increased with the increase in inflow *** were present both inside and backward,and vorticity was positively correlated with inflow *** between reefs had a minor influence on the maximum velocity and height of *** the increase in space from 0.5 L to 1.5 L(L is the reef lehgth),the length of slow flow in the front and back of the combined reefs increased *** the space was 2.0 L,the length of the slow flow *** four different spaces,eddies were present inside and at the back of each *** maximum vorticity was negatively correlated with space from 0.5 L to 1.5 L,but under 2.0 L space,the maximum vorticity was close to the vorticity of a single reef under the same inflow velocity.

Combination of Recombinant Adenovirus-p53 with Radiochemotherapy in Unresectable Pancreatic Carcinoma

Objective：To assess the safety and efficacy of the combination of recombinant adenovirus-p53 （rAd-p53） with radiochemotherapy for treating unresectable pancreatic ***：The eligible patients received concurrent rAd-p53 intratumoral injection and *** injection of rAd-p53 was guided by B *** consisted of intensity-modulated radiotherapy （IMRT） at two dose levels and intravenous gemcitabine （Gem）.For radiotherapy,gross target volume （GTV） and clinical target volume （CTV） were 55-60 Gy and 45-55 Gy in 25-30 fractions,*** intravenous gemcitabine was administered at 350 mg/m2,weekly,for 6 *** primary end points included toxicity,clinical benefit response （CBR） and disease control rate （DCR）.The secondary end points included progression-free survival （PFS） and overall survival （OS）.Results：Fifteen eligible patients were *** patients （53.3%） were evaluated as CBR and 12 （80%） achieved *** median PFS and OS were 6.7 and 13.8 months,***-year PFS and OS were 40.0% and 51.1%,*** were 8 （53.3%） patients reported grade 3 toxicities including neutropenia （6 patients,40%）,fever （1 patient,6.7%） and fatigue （1 patient,6.7%）.There was no grade 4 toxicity ***：Combination of rAd-p53 in unresectable pancreatic carcinoma showed encouraging efficacious benefit and was well ***-term follow-up is needed to confirm the improvement of PFS and OS.

Atomic-scale mechanism of effect of co-separation of elements at interface of ferrite and austenite on Cr-depleted zone of duplex stainless steel

Three-dimensional atom-probe tomography and first-principles calculation combined with density functional theory were used to study the effect of the co-segregation of different elements formed during the solidification process of S32205 duplex stainless steel on the Cr-depleted zone at the interface between ferrite and *** was found that the co-segregation of different elements formed during the solidification process of duplex stainless steel can also form Cr-depleted zone at the interface between ferrite and ***,Mo,Si,B,C and P atoms promote co-segregation with Cr atoms,which promotes the formation of Cr-depleted zone at the interface between ferrite and austenite in duplex stainless *** and Si strongly promote the segregation of Cr at the interface between ferrite and austenite,thereby promoting the formation of Cr-depleted zone.B,C and P elements also promote the segregation of Cr element at the interface between ferrite and austenite and the formation of Cr-depleted zone,but their effect is weaker than that of Mo and Si *** conclusions provide a new theoretical basis for improving the intergranular corrosion performance of duplex stainless steel.

Characteristics of Controlled Bridge Circuit and Its Application in Magnetic Field Induction Measurement

The article designs a new type of bridge circuit with a controlled source—when the resistance on the bridge arm of the controlled source bridge circuit meets the bridge balance condition, and the bridge branch contains only one Current-Controlled Current Source (CCCS), a Voltage-Controlled Current Source (VCCS), a Current-Controlled Voltage Source (CCVS), or a Voltage-Controlled Voltage Source (VCVS), the circuit is called a controlled bridge circuit, which has the characteristics of bridge balance. Due to the relationship between the controlled source and the bridge arm, the sensitivity of the components on the bridge is higher mathematically and logically. When applied to measurement, engineering, automatic control, and other fields, the controlled bridge circuit has higher control ac-curacy. Mathematical derivation and simulation results prove the correctness of the bridge balance conclusion and the special properties of this bridge when applied to the measurement field.

Construction of lead halide perovskite nanocrystals(LHP NCs)heterostructures is essential to obtain highly stable photoluminescence and expand their ***,a novel self-assembly strategy combining with a solvent-free thermal-assisted synthesis and a water-triggered reaction is developed to subsequently grow BaWO_(4)/CsPbX_(3)/CsPb_(2)X_(5)(X=Cl,Br,I)heterostructures at low nucleation temperature with high *** as-obtained ternary BaWO_(4)/CsPbX_(3)/CsPb_(2)X_(5)(X=Cl,Br,I)heterostructures exhibit remarkably enhanced panchromatic emission and ultrastable luminescence ascribing to the low-defect growth based on lattice *** white light-emitting diodes(WLEDs)have been constructed with a high correlated color temperature(CCT)of 7225 K and luminous efficiency of 74.4 lm·***^(3+)-doped BaWO_(4)/CsPbX_(3)/CsPb_(2)X_(5)(Ln^(3+)=Eu^(3+),Tb^(3+),Dy^(3+),Sm^(3+),Yb^(3+)/Er^(3+))nanocomposites are further designed with excitation-dependent photoluminescence and thermochromic properties,making them excellent candidates for high-level anti-counterfeiting and *** work offers a green and universal approach in assembling CsPbX_(3)(X=Cl,Br,I)on lattice-matched tungstate with adjustable panchromatic emission for versatile optical applications.
