Aim： To investigate the differences in microvessel densities （MVD） and the expressions of vascular endothelial growth factor （VEGF）, VEGF-C and VEGF receptor-3 （VEGFR-3） between prostate cancer （PCa） tissues and adjacent benign tissues, and to explore the correlations among MVD, Jewett-Whitmore staging, Gleason scores and expressions of VEGF, VEGF-C and VEGFR-3 in the progression of PCa. Methods： An immunohistochemical approach was adopted to detect the expressions of CD34, VEGF, VEGF-C and VEGFR-3 in both cancer areas and peripheral benign areas of 71 primary prostatic adenocarcinoma specimens. A statistic analysis was then performed according to the experimental and clinic data. Results： Significantly upregulated expressions of VEGF, VEGF-C and VEGFR-3 were all found in malignant epithelium/cancer cells compared with adjacent benign epithelium （P 〈 0.01）. Patients in stage D had a significantly higher score than patients in stage A, B or C when comparing the expression of VEGF-C or VEGFR-3 in the tumor area （P 〈 0.01）. In addition, significant correlations were observed between Jewett-Whitmore staging and VEGF-C （rs = 0.738, P 〈 0.01）, clinical staging and VEGFR-3 （rs = 0.410, P 〈 0.01）, VEGF-C and Gleason scores （rs = 0.401, P 〈 0.01）, VEGFR-3 and Gleason scores （rs = 0.581, P 〈 0.001） and MVD and VEGF （rs = 0.492, P 〈 0.001）. Conclusion： Increased expressions of VEGF and VEGF-C were closely associ- ated with progression of PCa. The main contribution of increased VEGF expression for PCa progression was to upregulate MVD, which maintained the growth advantage of tumor tissue. However, the chief role of increased expressions of VEGF-C and VEGFR-3 was to enhance lymphangiogenesis and provide a main pathway for cancer cells to disseminate. （Asian J Androl 2006 Mar; 8： 169-175）

Objective To study the optimal waist circumference （WC） cut-off values for identifying metabolic risk factors in middle-aged and elderly subjects in Shandong Province of China. Methods A total of 2 873 men and 5 559 women were included in this cross-sectional study. Metabolic syndrome （MetS） was diagnosed according to the definition of Chinese Diabetes Society in 2004. The relation between WC and MetS was analyzed by multivariate logistic regression analysis. The optimal WC cut-off values were identified using the area under the ROC curve and the different diagnostic criteria for central obesity were compared. Results The WC was the risk factor for MetS independent of BMI, blood glucose, blood lipid, and blood pressure. The optimal WC cut-off value was 83.8 cm and 91.1 cm for identifying MetS in women and men, respectively. Compared with 80 cm and 85 cm for women and men, 85 cm and 90 cm had a higher Youden index for identifying all metabolic risk factors and MetS in women and men. Conclusion The appropriate WC cut-off value is 85 cm and 90 cm for identifying central obesity and MetS in women and men in Shandong Province of China.

Recent evidence suggests that CD147 serves as a novel receptor for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)*** CD147 via anti-CD147 antibody could suppress the in vitro SARS-CoV-2 *** is a humanized anti-CD147 IgG_(2) monoclonal antibody,which may effectively prevent SARS-CoV-2 infection in coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)***,we conducted a randomized,double-blinded,placebo-controlled phase 1 trial to evaluate the safety,tolerability,and pharmacokinetics of meplazumab in healthy subjects,and an open-labeled,concurrent controlled add-on exploratory phase 2 study to determine the efficacy in COVID-19 *** phase 1 study,59 subjects were enrolled and assigned to eight cohorts,and no serious treatment-emergent adverse event(TEAE)or TEAE grade≥3 was *** serum and peripheral blood Cmax and area under the curve showed non-linear pharmacokinetic *** obvious relation between the incidence or titer of positive anti-drug antibody and dosage was observed in each *** biodistribution study indicated that meplazumab reached lung tissue and maintained>14 days stable with the lung tissue/cardiac blood-pool ratio ranging from 0.41 to *** the exploratory phase 2 study,17 COVID-19 patients were enrolled,and 11 hospitalized patients were involved as concurrent *** meplazumab treatment significantly improved the discharged(P=0.005)and case severity(P=0.021),and reduced the time to virus negative(P=0.045)in comparison to the control *** results show a sound safety and tolerance of meplazumab in healthy volunteers and suggest that meplazumab could accelerate the recovery of patients from COVID-19 pneumonia with a favorable safety profile.

Due to increasing morbidity worldwide,fractures are becoming an emerging public health *** study aimed to investigate the effect of metformin on the healing of osteoporotic as well as normal *** H vessels have recently been identified as a bone-specific vascular subtype that supports ***,we show that metformin accelerated fracture healing in both osteoporotic and normal ***,metformin promoted angiogenesis in vitro under hypoxia as well as type H vessel formation throughout fracture ***,metformin increased the expression of HIF-1α,an important positive regulator of type H vessel formation,by inhibiting the expression of YAP1/TAZ in calluses and hypoxia-cultured human microvascular endothelial cells(HMECs).The results of HIF-1αor YAP1/TAZ interference in hypoxia-cultured HMECs using si RNA further suggested that the enhancement of HIF-1αand its target genes by metformin is primarily through YAP1/TAZ ***,overexpression of YAP1/TAZ partially counteracted the effect of metformin in promoting type H vessel-induced angiogenesis-osteogenesis coupling during fracture *** summary,our findings suggest that metformin has the potential to be a therapeutic agent for fractures by promoting type H vessel formation through YAP1/TAZ inhibition.

目的利用斑马鱼脊髓损伤模型,研究水温改变对脊髓损伤修复的影响,并检测在脊髓修复过程中,损伤处细胞数目以及脑内相关基因表达的变化情况。方法利用手术构建斑马鱼脊髓损伤模型;通过改变斑马鱼生活的水温来观察其脊髓损伤后游动能力的变化情况;用振动切片技术及免疫组织化学观察脊髓损伤处不同时间点细胞数目的改变情况;实时荧光定量PCR法分析脑内相关基因gdnf、nos的表达差异。结果 28℃、30℃、32℃水温均不会导致未手术组与假手术组斑马鱼游动能力的改变(P>0.05);32℃水温环境能够使脊髓损伤组斑马鱼比28℃、30℃水温环境的斑马鱼恢复游动的能力明显增强(P0.05),而14 d时与相同时间点假手术组相比明显降低(P<0.05)。结论适当提高水环境温度可促进斑马鱼脊髓损伤后恢复。

目的：报告 20例恶性淋巴瘤在自体造血干细胞移植支持下接受超大剂量化疗的初步治疗经验 ,评价所用外周血造血干细胞 (peripheral blood progenitors,PBPC )动员方案的动员效果，预处理方案的远期疗效和耐受性，以及回输后造血重建情况。方法： 20例复发、晚期恶性淋巴瘤中， 1例复发霍奇金病 (Hodgkin s disease,HD),19例非霍奇金淋巴瘤 (non- Hodgkin s lymphoma,NHL）。经常规化疗获缓解后， 3例采用自体骨髓移植 (autologous bone marrow transplantation,ABMT)， 17例采用自体外周血干细胞移植 (autologous peripheral blood stem cell transplantation,APBSCT)；动员方案为环磷酰胺 (CTX)3 500 mg/m2＋ G- CSF 3.5～ 5μ g/kg＋地塞米松 10 mg，预处理方案为 BEAC(CTX 3 600～ 4 000 mg/m2,Vp- 16 1 200 mg/m2,BCNU 300 mg/m2和 Ara- C 1 500～ 2 000 mg/m2),化疗结束后 24～ 48 h回输自体造血干细胞。结果： ABMT病人回输单核细胞 (MNC)1.3(1.0～ 1.7)× 108/kg， APBSCT病人回输 MNC 1.8(1.0～ 4.4)× 108、 CFU- GM 5.1 (1.9～ 9.6 )× 105/kg和 CD34＋细胞 2.9(1.9～ 8.7)× 106/kg。回输造血干细胞后均获快速造血功能重建，中性粒细胞 (ANC)≥ 0.5× 109/L时间为 9(6～ 17)天。
