Due to the typical intercalation-deintercalation mechanism, TiO 2 holds great promise as a sustainable anode for next-generation lithium -ion batteries (liBs). However, commercial TiO 2 (C-TiO 2 ) is granular and shows slow ionic conductivity, which greatly hinders its development due to sluggish kinetics, leading to low reversible capacity and inferior rate capability. In this study, a two-dimensional layered TiO 2 (L-TiO 2 ) anode is prepared via a one-step calcination process, which can effectively shorten the lithium ions diffusion path and improve its lithium ions conductivity. We elucidated the enhanced electrochemical performance of L-TiO 2 as an anode in liBs through pseudocapacitive acceleration of lithium ions intercalation and deintercalation using various characterization techniques, including different scan rate cyclic voltammetry tests, in situ electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, in situ Raman spectroscopy, and in situ X-ray diffraction. In comparison to C-TiO 2 material, L-TiO 2 material showcases remarkable electrochemical performance, achieving a capacity of 166 mAh/g after 100 cycles at 0.1 C. Additionally, the lithium -ion diffusion coef ficient calculated for the L-TiO 2 is two orders of magnitude greater, underscoring its potential as a negative electrode material for liBs. The central-to-axial chirality conversion represents a fascinating class of chemical processes consisting of the destruction of stereogenic centers and the simultaneous installation of axial chiral elements,which provides efficient methods for the preparation of axially chiral ***,developing catalytic asymmetric approaches for constructing these central chirality precursors and the efficient central-to-axial chirality conversion remains a challenge due to the requirement of aromatization or elimination *** this work,we have developed an unprecedented enantioselective intramolecular FriedelCrafts alkylation with unactivated-ketone carbonyls from which a chiral tertiary alcohol was generated with high efficiency and excellent *** addition,the central-to-axial chirality conversion strategy has been successfully applied to the synthesis of enantioenriched biaryls via a less-explored carbocation-initiated rearrangement and aromatization under the promotion of Lewis *** methodology provided a straightforward and sustainable access to a broad range of biaryl-2-carboxylic acid and in excellent yields(up to 92%)and excellent central-to-axial chirality conversion(up to 99%conversion percentage).This work could be a great model for developing new methods for synthesizing axially chiral biaryls and a general protocol for the rearrangement and aromatization of carbocations for further functionalization.

Commutation failure (CF) is one of the most common issues in line-commuted converter-based high voltage direct current systems (LCC-HVDC), leading to critical power system security and stability problems. Accurate and rapid identification of CF is crucial to prevent subsequent CF in HVDC systems. However, the existing CF identification methods are lack of the required accuracy and speed. The relationship between bridge arm current, commutation voltage, and trigger pulse based on the commutation progress mechanism after the AC fault is analysed in this paper. A novel CF identification method is presented, which utilises the CF identification factor, enabling fast and high-accurate identification without relying on the value of the extinction angle. The proposed method offers a simpler and more efficient implementation in engineering practice. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified in both the standard International Council on Large Electric systems HVDC model and the Hardware in Loop test using practical project parameters. The results demonstrate that the proposed method can accurately and fast identify CF.
