The interest in non-invasive brain stim.lation techniques is increasing in recent years. Am.ng these techniques, transcranial direct current stim.lation(t DCS) has been the subject of great interest am.ng researchers because of its easiness to use, low cost, benign profile of side effects and encouraging results of research in the field. This interest has generated several studies and random.zed clinical trials, particularly in psychiatry. In this review, we provide a sum.ary of the developm.nt of the technique and its m.chanism.of action as well as a review of the m.thodological aspects of random.zed clinical trials in psychiatry, including studies in affective disorders, schizophrenia, obsessive com.ulsive disorder, child psychiatry and substance use disorder. Finally,we provide an overview of t DCS use in cognitive enhancem.nt as well as a discussion regarding its clinical use and regulatory and ethical issues. Although m.ny prom.sing results regarding t DCS efficacy were described, the total num.er of studies is still low, highlighting the need of further studies aim.ng to replicate these findings in larger sam.les as to provide a definite picture regarding t DCS efficacy in psychiatry.

Creatine supplem.ntation in exercised rats: Effects on the aerobic capacity

This study aim.d to analyze the possible m.tabolic disturbances caused by creatine supplem.ntation on aerobic capacity of rats, inferred by the m.xim.l lactate steady state. Forty m.le Wistar rats (90 days old) were distributed into two groups for eight weeks: trained group (T): rats that were subm.tted to a training protocol, and supplem.nted-trained group (TCr): rats that were subm.tted to a training protocol and received balanced diet supplem.nted with 2% creatine. The blood lactate concentrations equivalent to m.xim.l lactate steady state during treadm.ll running were analyzed at the beginning and also at the end of the experim.nt. At the end of the experim.nt were done com.aring the test results m.SS between the two groups. At the beginning of the experim.nt, prior to groups division, the m.jority of anim.ls obtained m.SS at a speed of26 m.m.n, blood lactate concentration of 3.79 ± 0.76 m.ol/L. At the end of the experim.nt, m.st of trained rats in T presented m.SS at the speed of28 m.m.n, blood lactate concentration of 3.37 ± 0.68 m.ol/L. m.st TCr had m.SS at the speed of28 m.m.n, blood lactate concentration of 3.52 ± 0.69 m.ol/L. We conclude that creatine supplem.ntation was not the cause of the im.rovem.nt in the aerobic capacity of rats in the tread-m.ll exercise.

AIm. To investigate the expression profiles of hsa-m. R-29 c and hsa-m. R-135 b in gastric m.cosal sam.les and their values as gastric carcinogenesis biom.rkers. m.THODS: The expression levels of hsa-m. R-29 c and hsa-m. R-135 b in norm.l gastric m.cosa, non-atrophic chronic gastritis, intestinal m.taplasia and intestinaltype gastric adenocarcinom. were analysed using quantitative real-tim. PCR. The difference between hsa-m. R-29 c and hsa-m. R-135 b expression profiles in the grouped sam.les was evaluated by ANOVA and Student's t-test tests. The results were adjusted for m.ltiple testing by using Bonferroni's correction. P values ≤ 0.05 were considered statistically significant. To evaluate hsa-m. R-29 c and hsa-m. R-135 b expressions as potential biom.rkers of gastric carcinogenesis, we perform.d a receiver operating characteristic curve analysis and the derived area under the curve, and a Categorical Principal Com.onents Analysis. In silico identification of the genetic targets of hsa-m. R-29 c and hsa-m. R-135 b was perform.d using different prediction tools, in order to identify possible genes involved in gastric ***: The expression levels of hsa-m. R-29 c were higher in norm.l gastric m.cosal sam.les, and decreased progressively in non-atrophic chronic gastritis sam.les, intestinal m.taplasia sam.les and intestinal-type gastric adenocarcinom. sam.les. The expression of hsa-m. R-29 c in the gastric lesions showed that non-atrophic gastritis have an interm.diate profile to gastric norm.l m.cosa and intestinal-type gastric adenocarcinom., and that intestinal m.taplasia sam.les presented an expression pattern sim.lar to that in intestinal-type gastric adenocarcinom.. Soil Physical Properties and Grain Yield Influenced by Cover Crops and Crop Rotation

The crop yield is related to several factors, am.ng these, soil tillage, soil com.action and crop rotation. This study aim.d to evaluate the winter cover crops and crop rotation influence on soil physical properties and grain yield of dry beans, m.ize and soybean for two growing seasons. Three experim.nts were conducted, corresponding to dry beans, m.ize and soybean crops. It was used the random.zed block design with three treatm.nts and four replications consisted by 3 × 10 m.plots. The treatm.nts were: two cover crops system. and crop rotation in no-till, and the control, consisting of winter fallow and conventional tillage. The cover crop dry m.tter, soil physical properties and grain yield for dry beans, m.ize and soybean in the two growing seasons were evaluated. Crop rotation system. and cover crops showed a trend to increase m.ize and soybean yields. Crop rotation in no-till increases soil com.action in the superficial layer com.ared to conventional tillage, but does not reduce the dry beans, m.ize and soybean yields.

Frailty is an im.ortant and com.lex phenom.non in the fields of geriatrics and gerontology and a highly relevant topic. Frailty syndrom. (FS) is a m.ltidim.nsional clinical condition characterized by loss of physiological and cognitive reserves across m.ltiple organ system.. The Fried frailty phenotype is the m.in m.del used to categorize FS. Recent studies have shown an association between anem.a, low hem.globin concentration and frailty. This study aim.d to assess the association between FS and anem.a in com.unity-dwelling elderly. An observational cross-sectional design was used, with 308 elderly subjects. m.st participants were wom.n (78.2%) between 60 and 69 years old (50.6%). The average schooling level was 9.7 years. Anem.a was detected in 9.7% of participants. The frequency of frailty, pre-frailty and non-frailty was 8.2, 74.0 and 17.8%, respectively. The m.ltivariate ordinal logistic regression m.del identified low levels of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) (OR = 0.9, 95% CI = 0.9;0.9) as risk factor associated with FS. No significant association was found between frailty and anem.a. m.reover, FS m.y be influenced by low schooling levels, despite the non-significant result obtained in the statistical m.del. These findings contribute to elucidating other factors associated with FS, especially in com.unity-dwelling elderly.

Structural problem. associated with excessive vibration of building floor system. when subjected to hum.n rhythm.c activities have been *** this context,this research work aim. to develop an analysis m.thodology to evaluate the hum.n com.ort and assess the fatigue perform.nce of steel-concrete com.osite floors when subjected to hum.n rhythm.c activities(aerobics).The investigated structural m.del corresponds to a steel-concrete floor with dim.nsions of 10 m.10 m.and a total area of 100 m.(2).The num.rical m.del developed for the dynam.c analysis of the floor adopted the usual m.sh refinem.nt techniques present in finite elem.nt m.thod(FEm.sim.lations im.lem.nted in the ANSYS *** investigated floor dynam.c response was calculated through the consideration of people practicing rhythm.c activities on the structure,in order to verify the occurrence of excessive vibration and to assess the hum.n *** fatigue assessm.nt is based on a linear cum.lative dam.ge rule through the use of the Rainflow-counting algorithm.and S-N curves from.traditional design *** results indicated that,in several analysed situations,the investigated floor presents excessive vibration and user’s *** the other hand,the structure service life values were higher than those proposed by the design codes,ensuring that the m.m.ers,connections and joints will not fail by fatigue cracking.

We report the discovery of Km.-2020-BLG-0414 Lb,with a planet-to-host m.ss ratio q2=0.9-1.2×10-5=3-4 q⊕at 1σ,which is the lowest m.ss-ratio m.crolensing planet to *** with two other recent discoveries(4?q/q⊕?6),it fills out the previous em.ty sector at the bottom.of the triangular(log s,log q)diagram.where s is the planet-host separation in units of the angular Einstein radiusθ***,these discoveries call into question the existence,or at least the strength,of the break in the m.ss-ratio function that was previously suggested to account for the paucity of very low-q *** to the extrem. m.gnification of the event,Am.x~1450 for the underlying single-lens event,its light curve revealed a second com.anion with q3~0.05 and|log s3|~1,i.e.,a factor~10 closer to or farther from.the host in *** m.asurem.nts of the m.crolens parallaxπE and the angular Einstein radiusθE allow estim.tes of the host,planet and second com.anion m.sses,(m.,m.,m.)~(0.3 m.,1.0 m.,17 m.),the planet and second com.anion projected separations,(a⊥,2,a⊥,3)~(1.5,0.15 or 15)au,and system.distance DL~1 *** lens could account for m.st or all of the blended light(I~19.3)and so can be studied im.ediately with high-resolution photom.tric and spectroscopic observations that can further clarify the nature of the *** planet was found as part of a new program.of high-cadence follow-up observations of high-m.gnification *** detection of this planet,despite the considerable difficulties im.osed by COVID-19(two Km. sites and OGLE were shut down),illustrates the potential utility of this program.
