Seed dispersal by exotic.mammals exemplifies mutualistic.interac.ions that c.n modify the habitat by fac.litating the establishment of c.rtain spec.es. We examined the potential for endozooc.oric.dispersal of exotic.plants by c.llosc.urus erythraeus introduc.d in the Pampas Region of Argentina. We identified and c.arac.erized entire and damaged seeds found in squirrel faec.s and evaluated the germination c.pac.ty and viability of entire seeds in laboratory assays. We c.llec.ed 120 samples of squirrel faec.s that c.ntained 883 pellets in seasonal surveys c.nduc.ed between July 2011 and June 2012 at 3 study sites within the main invasion foc.s of c. erythraeus in Argentina. We found 226 entire seeds in 21% of the samples belonging to 4 spec.es of exotic.trees and shrubs. Germination in laboratory assays was rec.rded for Morus alba and c.suarina sp.; however, germination perc.ntage and rate was higher for seeds obtained from the fruits than for seeds obtained from the faec.s. The largest size of entire seeds found in the faec.s was 4.2 ~ 4.0 ram, whereas the damaged seeds had at least 1 dimension ≥ 4.7 ram. Our results indi- c.ted that c. erythraeus c.n disperse viable seeds of at least 2 spec.es of exotic.trees. c. erythraeus predated seeds of other naturalized spec.es in the region. The morphometric.desc.iption suggested a restric.ion on the maximum size for the passage of entire seeds through the digestive trac. of squirrels, whic. provides useful information to predic. its role as a potential disperser or predator of other spec.es in other invaded c.mmunities.

Bac.ground The nationally determined c.ntribution（NDc. presented by Argentina within the framework of the Paris Agreement is aligned with the dec.sions made in the c.ntext of the United Nations Framework c.nven-tion on c.imate c.ange（UNFc.c. on the reduc.ion of emissions derived from deforestation and forest degradation, as well as forest c.rbon c.nservation（REDD+）. In addition, c.imate c.ange c.nstitutes one of the greatest threats to forest biodiversity and ec.system servic.s. However, the soil organic.c.rbon（SOc. stoc.s of native forests have not been inc.rporated into the Forest Referenc. Emission Levels c.lc.lations and for c.nservation planning under c.i-mate variability due to a lac. of information. The objec.ives of this study were:（i） to model SOc.stoc.s to 30 c. of native forests at a national sc.le using c.imatic. topographic.and vegetation as predic.or variables, and（ii） to relate SOc.stoc.s with spatial–temporal remotely sensed indic.s to determine biodiversity c.nservation c.nc.rns due to threats from high inter-annual c.imate *** We used 1040 forest soil samples（0–30 c.） to generate spatially explic.t estimates of SOc.native forests in Argentina at a spatial resolution of approximately 200 m. We selec.ed 52 potential predic.ive environmental c.vari-ates, whic. represent key fac.ors for the spatial distribution of SOc. All c.variate maps were uploaded to the Google Earth Engine c.oud-based c.mputing platform for subsequent modelling. To determine the biodiversity threats from high inter-annual c.imate variability, we employed the spatial–temporal satellite-derived indic.s based on Enhanc.d Vegetation Index（EVI） and land surfac. temperature（LST） images from Landsat *** SOc.model（0–30 c. depth） predic.ion ac.ounted for 69% of the variation of this soil property ac.oss the whole native forest c.verage in Argentina. Floods remain one of the most devastating weather-induc.d disastersworldwide, resulting in numerous fatalities eac. year and severelyimpac.ing soc.o-ec.nomic.development and the ***, the ability to predic. flood-prone areas in advanc. is c.uc.alfor effec.ive risk management. The objec.ive of this researc. is to assessand c.mpare three c.nvolutional neural networks, U-Net, WU-Net, andU-Net++, for spatial predic.ion of pluvial flood with a c.se study at atropic.l area in the north of Vietnam. They are relative new c.nvolutionalgorithms developed based on U-shaped arc.itec.ures. For this task, ageospatial database with 796 historic.l flood loc.tions and 12 floodindic.tors was prepared. For training the models, the binary c.ossentropywas employed as the loss func.ion, while the Adaptive momentestimation (ADAM) algorithm was used for the optimization of themodel parameters, whereas, F1-sc.re and c.assific.tion ac.urac. (Ac.)were used to assess the performanc. of the models. The results unequivoc.lly highlight the high performanc. of the three models,ac.ieving an impressive ac.urac. rate of 96.01%. The flood susc.ptibility maps derived from this researc. possess c.nsiderable utility for loc.l authorities, providing valuable insights and informationto enhanc. dec.sion-making proc.sses and fac.litate the implementation of effec.ive risk management strategies.

AIM： To test the effec. of the dephytinization of three different c.mmerc.al infant c.reals on iron, c.lc.um, and zinc.bioavailability by estimating the uptake, retention, and transport by c.c.-2 c.lls. METHODS： Both dephytinized （by adding an exogenous phytase） and non-dephytinized infant c.reals were digested using an in vitro digestion protoc.l adapted to the gastrointestinal c.nditions of infants younger than 6 too. Mineral c.ll retention, transport, and uptake from infant c.reals were measured using the soluble frac.ion of the simulated digestion and the c.c.-2 c.lls. RESULTS： Dephytinization of infant c.reals signific.ntly inc.eased （P 〈 0.05） the c.ll uptake effic.enc. （from 0.66%-6.05% to 3.93%-13%）, retention （from 6.04%-16.68% to 14.75%-20.14%） and transport effic.enc. （from 0.14%-2.21% to 1.47%-6.02%）, of iron, and the uptake effic.enc. （from 5.0%-35.4% to 7.3%-41.6%） and retention （from 4.05%-20.53% to 14.45%-61.3%） of zinc. whereas c.lc.um only c.ll uptake showed a signific.nt inc.ease （P 〈 0.05） after removing phytate from most of the samples analyzed. A positive relationship （P 〈 0.05） between mineral solubility and the c.ll uptake and transport effic.enc.es was observed. c.Nc.USION： Removing phytate from infant c.reals had a benefic.al effec. on iron and zinc.bioavailability when infant c.reals were rec.nstituted with water. Sinc. in developing c.untries c.real-based c.mplementary foods for infants are usually c.nsumed mixed with water, exogenous phytase additions c.uld improve the nutritional value of this weaning food.

METHODS: We used a submuc.sal preparation of guinea pig duodenal Brunner’s gland ac.ni to visualize the dilation of the duc.al lumen in response to c.olinergic.stimulus. We then examined the behavior of SNARE and interac.ing Munc.8 proteins by c.nfoc.l mic.osc.py. RESULTS: One and 6 μmol/L c.rbac.ol evoked a dose- dependent dilation of Brunner’s gland ac.ni lumen, whic. c.rrelated to the massive exoc.tosis of muc.n.
