The brown planthopper Nilaparvata lugens Stal （Homoptera： Delphacidae） can cause hopperburn by feeding on rice and also can transmit the grassy stunt disease. Resistant rice varieties have been developed, but several N. lugens strains can recover their virulence to these resistant rice varieties. In the present study, reference genes with stable expression levels in N. lugens populations showed different levels of virulence to susceptible and resistant rice varieties. The expression of six candidate reference genes in N. lugens feeding on susceptible and resistant rice varieties was analyzed. These genes were evaluated for their potential use in the analysis of differential gene expression. Polymerase chain reaction data was generated from N. lugens, including two different treatments （resistant or susceptible rice） and three virulent N. lugens populations. Three software programs （BestKeeper, Normfinder and geNorm） were used to assess the candidate reference genes. Both geNorm and Normfinder identified the genes 18S, E-ACT, E-TUB and a-TUB as the most stable reference genes. BestKeeper identified ETIF1 as the optimal reference gene with the least overall variation, whereas 18S and a-TUB were the second and third most stably expressed genes, respectively. Therefore, we concluded that the genes 18S and a-TUB were the most suitable reference genes in N. lugens. These results will facilitate future transcript profiling studies on N. lugens populations that show variation in virulence levels on different rice varieties.

One concern about the use of transgenic plants is their potential risk to natural enemies. In this study, using the eggs of the rice brown planthopper, Nilaparvata lugens, as a food source, we investigated the effects of Cry1 Ab rice on the biological characteristics and functional response of an important predator Cyrtorhinus lividipennis. The results showed that the survival ability（adult emergence rate and egg hatching rate）, development（egg duration, nymphal developmental duration）, adult fresh weight, adult longevity and fecundity of C. lividipennis on Bt rice plants were not significantly different compared to those on non-Bt rice plants. Furthermore, two important parameters of functional response（instantaneous search rate and handling time） were not significantly affected by Bt rice. In conclusion, the tested Cry1 Ab rice does not adversely impact the biological character and functional response of C. lividipennis.

The chironomid is one of the world wide distributed insects and normally occurs in a great abundance among many kinds of water bodies. Currently, our knowledge about the chironomid in rice fields is limited to the species survey, and it is considered as a group insect at the family level, termed as a kind of the neutral insects. By using the specially designed emergence traps, the species richness and the occurrence of the chironomid in rice fields were studied throughout the early season in Fuyang City, Zhejiang Province, China. There were four species, namely, Tanytarsus formosanus, Chironomus sinicus, Polypedilum nubifer and Tanypus punctipennis of chironomids collected from rice fields. All of them are widely distributed species. T. formosanus and C. sinicus were the most dominant species in rice fields. The succession of chironomids in the early season could be divided into two phases, the early and the late phases. The abundance of the chironomid was higher in the early phase than that in the late phase. It was estimated that there were around 3 million individuals of chironomids emerged from 667 m2 rice field throughout the early season. It was also found that the sex ratio of T. formosanus was female-biased during the early phase, whereas male-biased during the late phase. In contrast, the sex ratio of C. sinicus was male-biased throughout the early season.

Chemical pesticides play crucial roles in the management of crop diseases and pests. However, excessive and irrational use of pesticides has become a major concern and obstacle to sustainable agriculture. As a result, the quality and security of agricultural products are reduced, and the ecological and environmental integrities are threatened. Recently, environment-friendly pest management measures have been introduced and adopted to manage rice insect pests and reduce the use of insecticides. This paper reviewed the advancements in development and application of non-chemical technologies for insect pest management during rice production in China.

As a laser passes through a scattering medium,the light interacts with the irregular reflections within the medium,resulting in light scattering and the formation of *** this paper,an image sensor based on the combination of a coreless optical fiber and a digital camera is proposed for liquid refractive index sensing *** coreless fiber is used as a sensing unit,and the change in the speckle pattern is measured using the digital correlation method to detect the magnitude of the liquid's refractive *** experimental results indicate that the laser image sensing technique is capable of effectively distinguishing liquid samples with refractive indices ranging from 1.332 8 to1.390 8,with a sensing sensitivity of-1.306 ***,the laser image sensing technique,with its advantages of high experimental reproducibility,simple system design,remote over-control,holds great research significance and potential application in laser communication and sensor integration.

Developing organic room-temperature phosphorescence （RTP） materials with a wide range of tunable-emission is significant in expanding the applications of RTP ***,we rationally designed amphiphilic alternating copolymers poly(1,2-bis（4-alkoxyphenyl）ethane-1,2-dione-alt-（ethylene glycol）x)(P（Bz-alt-EGx）) that combined the advantage of alternating benzil and EGxskeleton,and tunable mainchain *** a mainchain conformation ordering assembly （COA） process,P（Bz-alt-EGx） self-assembled into well-defined platelets,and such assemblies emitted blue RTP at ca.425 nm due to the ordered folded-chain conformation and confined *** contrast,traditional self-assembly （TA） of P（Bz-alt-EGx） obtained less ordered aggregates,such as asymmetric worms,vesicles,and rod-like *** resultant less ordered aggregates exhibited yellow-green RTP at ca.550 *** wide-tuning RTP emission in solution （between blue and yellow-green,over125 nm） is realized using the P（Bz-alt-EGx） alternating copolymers under the treatment of different self-assembly *** study uncovers a new strategy to tailor the RTP emission through different self-assembly pathways and holds great promise for the fabrication of advanced optical materials.

在浙江富阳评价了汕优63(含Bph1)、IR42(含bph2)、IR56(含Bph3)和TN1(感虫对照)以及新近育成的杂交稻中浙优1号、国稻6号等苗期抗性不同的水稻品种成株期对褐飞虱的抗性。结果表明,苗期中抗(5级)以上的水稻品种在成株期均表现出明显的抗性;苗期高感(9级)的水稻品种成株期亦感虫,但田间虱烧出现时间和虱烧程度有所差异。苗期高感的中浙优1号田间"虱烧"发生时间比同样高感的TN1晚5d,推测中浙优1号对褐飞虱有一定的耐受性,这是在苗期鉴定中不能体现的。因此,应重视对苗期感虫的优良水稻品种的成株期抗性鉴定。

Meningeal lymphatic vessels form a relationship between the nervous system and periphery, which is relevant in both health and disease. Meningeal lymphatic vessels not only play a key role in the drainage of brain metabolites but also contribute to antigen delivery and immune cell activation. The advent of novel genomic technologies has enabled rapid progress in the characterization of myeloid and lymphoid cells and their interactions with meningeal lymphatic vessels within the central nervous system. In this review, we provide an overview of the multifaceted roles of meningeal lymphatic vessels within the context of the central nervous system immune network, highlighting recent discoveries on the immunological niche provided by meningeal lymphatic vessels. Furthermore, we delve into the mechanisms of crosstalk between meningeal lymphatic vessels and immune cells in the central nervous system under both homeostatic conditions and neurodegenerative diseases, discussing how these interactions shape the pathological outcomes. Regulation of meningeal lymphatic vessel function and structure can influence lymphatic drainage, cerebrospinal fluid-borne immune modulators, and immune cell populations in aging and neurodegenerative disorders, thereby playing a key role in shaping meningeal and brain parenchyma immunity.
