Dislocation ordering and texture strengthening of naturally aged Al-Cu-Mg alloy

Stability of grain structure,dislocation ordering and strengthening mechanisms of the naturally aged AlCu-Mg alloy after solution treatment are investigated by using optical microscope(OM),scanning electron microscope(SEM),electron back-scattered diffraction(EBSD),X-ray diffraction(XRD) and transmission electron microscope(TEM).Results show that {100},{100},{110} and {110}slip systems can be activated after solution treatment,which can promote the formation of {110}Goss *** combination effect of T-Al_(20)Cu_(2) Mn_(3) phase and Goss-oriented grains with large Taylor factor makes the solution-treated alloys display excellent stability of grain *** enhanced yield strength of the alloy is ascribed to grain-refine strengthening,dispersed particles strengthening,dislocation strengthening and texture *** coarsening of the second phase is responsible for softening of the alloy after annealing at 400 ℃+solution treatment at 475 ℃.

A magnetic state equation of the MnFeP0.45As0.55 compound has been obtained by minimizing the Gibbs free energy with respect to the volume and the magnetization based on the Bean-Rodbell model. The isothermal magnetization of the compound has been calculated using this equation. The magnetic entropy change of the compound was determined from the surface area between the two adjacent isothermal magnetization curves divided by the average temperature. A comparison and an error analysis of the calculated magnetic entropy change and the one determined from the experimental data were given.

In the last five decades, the number of transistors on a chip has increased exponentially in accordance with the Moore’s law, and the semiconductor industry has followed this law as long-term planning and targeting for research and development. However, as the transistor feature size is further shrunk to sub-14 nm nanometer regime, modern integrated circuit(IC) designs are challenged by exacerbated manufacturability and reliability issues. To overcome these grand challenges, full-chip modeling and physical design tools are imperative to achieve high manufacturability and reliability. In this paper, we will discuss some key process technology and VlSI design co-optimization issues in nanometer VlSI.

Reliability analysis methods based on the linear damage accumulation law (lDAl) and load-life interference model are studied in this paper. According to the equal probability rule, the equivalent loads are derived, and the reliability analysis method based on load-life interference model and recurrence formula is constructed. In conjunction with finite element analysis (FEA) program, the reliability of an aero engine turbine disk under low cycle fatigue (lCF) condition has been analyzed. The results show the turbine disk is safety and the above reliability analysis methods are feasible.

Design approaches for active,semi-active and passive control systems based on analysis of characteristics of active control force

In this paper, the characteristics of forces in active control systems connected to adjacent levels of a building are analyzed. The following characteristics are observed：（1） active control can provide significantly superior supplemental damping to a building, but causes a small frequency shift; （2） the linear quadratic regulator （lQR）-based control force is composed of an elastic restoring force component and a damping force component, where the damping force is almost identical to the total control force, however, the elastic restoring force is very small; and （3） the active control forces prevent mction most of the time during the entire control process. These three characteristics imply that active control systems connected to adjacent levels of a building behave like passive damping devices with adjustable parameters, namely damping characteristics in an active control, which is the mechanism used by semi-active control devices to reach similar performance as active control systems. Two indices are defined to quantify the damping characteristics of control forces in active control systems. These two indices can also be used to quantify the capacity of semi-active control to achieve the perfonrlance of active control. Based on the above observations, two principles are founded for optimization of parameters of semi-active control devices and passive dampers. The first is that the maximum output force of a semi-active or passive device to be designed is identical to an active device, called ＂design principle＂. The other is the response equivalent principle, which states that the response of a building with semi-active or passive devices is the same as with active devices when the same maximum output force is applied. The design procedure for semi-active control devices and passive dampers is described in detail. A numerical simulation method is presented for the random-fuzzy safety analysis of an aero engine disk. Based on the equivalent transformation from a fuzzy variable to a random variable, the equivalent random Probability Density Functions(PDFs) are got from their corresponding Fuzzy Possibility Distributions(FPDs) for the fuzzy variables. In that case the perfect numerical simulation method for the random uncertainty is employed to solve the fuzzy uncertainty. For the complex structure such as the aero engine disk with implicit relationship between the input basic variable and the response variable, the equivalent PDFs of the input basic variables are delivered simultaneously to the response variable by an empirical PDF, which is simulated by Finite Element Method(FEM). Then, in view of the fuzzy application requirement occurring in engineering usually, the reliability definition and calculation are discussed for the aero engine disk with multiple fuzzy failure modes. On the other hand, through the inverse transformation of the fuzzy variable to the random variable, the FPDs of the response variables can be calculated from their empirical PDFs as well.

NUMERICAl SIMUlATION OF TEMPERATURE FIElDS IN ElECTROSlAG REMElTING SlAB INGOTS

The method based on transient heat transfer model is adopted to simulate electro-slag remelting process. The calculated results of the model show that the process is in the quasi-steady state, and the shape of pool remains unchanged when the height of ingot is approximately 2.5-3 times the thickness of slab ingot. The change in the shape of pool is found to be strongly dependent on the pattern of melting rate, and hence, the power input; the depth of the molten pool increases with the increase in melting speed. It is concluded that a transient heat transfer model has to be used to obtain reliable input information for the entire, operatina time.

Symmetry-Protected Scattering in Non-Hermitian linear Systems

Symmetry plays fundamental role in physics and the nature of symmetry changes in non-Hermitian *** the symmetry-protected scattering in non-Hermitian linear systems is investigated by employing the discrete symmetries that classify the random *** even-parity symmetries impose strict constraints on the scattering coefficients:the time-reversal(C and K) symmetries protect the symmetric transmission or reflection;the pseudo-Hermiticity(Q symmetry) or the inversion(P) symmetry protects the symmetric transmission and *** the inversion-combined time-reversal symmetries,the symmetric features on the transmission and reflection *** odd-parity symmetries including the particle-hole symmetry,chiral symmetry,and sublattice symmetry cannot ensure the scattering to be *** guiding principles are valid for both Hermitian and non-Hermitian linear *** findings provide fundamental insights into symmetry and scattering ranging from condensed matter physics to quantum physics and optics.
