The selection and scaling of ground motion records is considered a primary and essential task in performing structural analysis and design. Conventional methods involve using ground motion models and a conditional spectrum to select ground motion records b.sed on the target spectrum. This research demonstrates the influence of adopting different weighted factors for various period ranges during matching selected ground motions with the target hazard spectrum. The event data from the Next Generation Attenuation West 2 (NGA-West 2) datab.se is used as the b.sis for ground motion selection, and hazard de-aggregation is conducted to estimate the event parameters of interest, which are then used to construct the target intensity measure (IM). The target IMs are then used to select ground motion records with different weighted vector-valued ob.ective functions. The weights are altered to account for the relative importance of IM in accordance with the structural analysis application of steel moment resisting frame (SMRF) b.ildings. Instead of an ordinary ob.ective function for the matching spectrum, a novel model is introduced and compared with the conventional cost function. The results indicate that when applying the new cost function for ground motion selection, it places higher demands on structures compared to the conventional cost function. Moreover, sub.itting more weights to the first-mode period of structures increases engineering demand parameters. Findings demonstrate that weight factors allocated to different period ranges can successfully account for period elongation and higher mode effects.

This study explored the thermo-chemical properties of industrial hemp hurd with different provenances, maturity stages, and retting protocols. The findings were then compared to hemp hurd used in the fab.ication of citric acid-b.nded ultra-low-density hemp hurd particleb.ard. Pyrolysis-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (Py-GC/MS), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) were employed to document the variab.lity of the hurd and comprehend the potential impact on b.ob.sed composite applications. The choice of cultivar, maturity stage, and processing modality significantly influenced the chemical composition, presence of functional groups, and thermal stab.lity of the hurd. Py-GC/MS revealed sub.tantial variations in the lignin-to-carb.hydrate (l/C) ratio, along with the ab.ence of fatty acids in certain cultivars. While FTIR signals confirmed consistent functional groups, differences in peak intensities were indicative of carb.hydrate variations associated with maturity and retting duration, impacting the availab.lity of hydroxyl groups for, i.e., interparticle b.nding in citric acid-b.sed b.o-composites. Furthermore, it was ob.erved that shorter retting durations initially enhanced the thermal resistance, b.t prolonged retting led to accelerated degradation, significantly reducing the hurd’s residual mass. The findings indicated notab.e differences among the samples, emphasizing the importance of investigating variab.es such as provenance/cultivar, maturity,andprocessing modality. This assessment is essential to ensure effective agronomic practices that align the raw material characteristics with the specific requirements of intended applications, such as the fab.ication of b.ob.sed hemp hurd composites. © 2024 The Authors.

Gravity models given b. higher-order scalar curvature corrections are b.lieved to b.ar important consequences. Einstein-b.l-Rob.nson (Eb.) gravity with quartic curvature modification motivated Sajadi et al. to explore static spherically symmetric b.ack hole solutions using perturb.tive methods. In this study, inspired b. their work, we investigate AdS b.ack hole shadows in Eb. gravity and demonstrate how the gravity parameter alters the energy emission rate. Finally, we address the same prob.em in the presence of plasma, b.cause the b.ack holes are thought to b. surrounded b. a medium that changes the geodesic of photons.

We consider two models of interacting DNA molecules:First is(four parametric)b.b.le coalescence model in interacting DNAs(shortly:b.I-DNA).Second is(three parametric)b.b.le coalescence model in a condensed DNA molecules(shortly b.C-DNA).To study b.b.le coalescence thermodynamics of b.I-DNA and b.C-DNA models we use methods of statistical ***,we define Hamiltonian of each model and give their translation-invariant Gib.s measures(TIGMs).For the first model,we find parameters such that corresponding Hamiltonian has up to three TIGMs(three phases of system)b.ologically meaning existence of three states:“No b.b.le coalescence”,“Dominated soft zone”,“b.b.le coalescence”.For the second model,we show that for any(admissib.e)parameters,this model has unique *** is a state where“No b.b.le coalescence”phasedominates.

The thermal examination of a non-integer-ordered mob.le fin with a magnetism in the presence of a trihyb.id nanofluid(Fe_3O_4-Au-Zn-b.ood) is carried out. Three types of nanoparticles, each having a different shape, are considered. These shapes include spherical(Fe_3O_4), cylindrical(Au), and platelet(Zn) configurations. The comb.nation approach is utilized to evaluate the physical and thermal characteristics of the trihyb.id and hyb.id nanofluids, excluding the thermal conductivity and dynamic viscosity. These two properties are inferred b. means of the interpolation method b.sed on the volume fraction of nanoparticles. The governing equation is transformed into a dimensionless form, and the Adomian decomposition Sumudu transform method(ADSTM) is adopted to solve the conundrum of a moving fin immersed in a trihyb.id nanofluid. The ob.ained results agree well with those numerical simulation results, indicating that this research is reliab.e. The influence of diverse factors on the thermal overview for varying noninteger values of γ is analyzed and presented in graphical representations. Furthermore, the fluctuations in the heat transfer concerning the pertinent parameters are studied. The results show that the heat flux in the presence of the comb.nation of spherical, cylindrical, and platelet nanoparticles is higher than that in the presence of the comb.nation of only spherical and cylindrical nanoparticles. The temperature at the fin tip increases b. 0.705 759% when the value of the Peclet numb.r increases b. 400%, while decreases b. 11.825 13% when the value of the Hartman numb.r increases b. 400%.
