lug joints are preferred joineries for transferring heavy loads to parent components in aerospace *** experience corrosion due to environmental conditions,improper surface finishes and rubbing displacement between the pin and *** causes damage of different sizes and shapes near the *** degradation due to corrosion-induced damage is modelled as a through-pit at one of the identified critical locations through stress *** effect of this pit on fatigue crack initiation life is ***-hole is pre-stressed by cold-working and the benefits of inducing plastic wake on the intended performance of the lug joint during the damages due to corrosion are brought out and compared with non-cold-worked *** analysis is performed on this lug joint with *** results obtained highlight the benefits of cold-working and the methodology can be extended to damage growth and analyse the effect of surface treatments for better structural integrity of components of aerospace vehicles.

The main goal of our study is to reveal unexpected but intriguing analogies arising between optical solitons and nuclear physics,which still remain hidden from *** consider the main cornerstones of the concept of nonl.near optics of nuclear reactions and the well-dressed repulsive-core *** the base of this model,we reveal the most intriguing properties of the nonl.near tunnel.ng of nucleus-like solitons and the soliton selfinduced sub-barrier transparency *** describe novel interesting and stimulating analogies between the interaction of nucleus-like solitons on the repulsive barrier and nuclear sub-barrier *** main finding of this study concerns the conservation of total.number of nucleons(or the baryon number)in nuclear-like soliton *** show that inelastic interactions among well-dressed repulsive-core solitons arise only when a“cloud”of“dressing”spectral side-bands appears in the frequency spectra of the *** property of nucleus-like solitons is directly related to the nuclear density distribution described by the dimensionless small shape-squareness *** the Fourier spectra of nucleus-like solitons are similar to the nuclear form *** show that the nuclear-like reactions between well-dressed solitons are realized by“exchange”between“particle-like”side bands in their spectra.

The primate brain and artificial intelligence(AI) can both be conceptualized as information processing systems, each with its own distinct biological and computational architectures. While there are parallels between them, their respective structural and functional connections show significant differences. In this paper, we examine the central role of feedback processing in both the primate brain and AI systems, which has been shown to be crucial in shaping neural processing. By reviewing the key features of feedback processes in the primate brain, which allows the brain to incorporate prior knowledge, contextual information, and taskdemands into early-stage processing, we highlight the divergence in goals and functions between biological and AI *** these differences is crucial for elucidating the cognitive capabilities of the primate brain and for addressing computational chall.nges in AI. In advocating “Cognition-Inspired-Computation”, we suggest that integrating insights from feedback processing in the primate brain into AI research will offer potentially significant improvements for the advancement of AI systems.

Owing to its high production volume and wide range of application s,polyethyl.ne has gained a great deal of attention,but its low surface energy and non-polar nature have limited its application in some important *** this study,ethyl.ne/11-iodo-1-undecene copolymers were prepared and used as the intermediates to afford a series of imidazolium-based ionomers bearing methanesulfonate(CH_(3)SO_(3)^(-)),trifluoromethanesulfonate(CF_(3)SO_(3)^(-)),or bis(trifluoromethane)sulfonimide(Tf_(2)n^(-))*** tensile test results showed that the stress-at-break(7.8-25.6 MPa)and the el.ngation-at-break(445%-847%)of the ionomers could be adjusted by changing the counterion species and the ionic group *** importantly,the ionomers exhibited marvelous antibacterial activities against Staphylococcus aureus(***)and Escherichia coli(***).The ionomers bearing Tf_(2)n^(-)exhibited antibacterial activities>99%against both *** and *** when ionic content reached 9.1%.The imidazolium-based ionomers prepared in this work demonstrated excell.nt comprehensive properties,especially highefficient and broad-spectrum antibacterial ability,exhibiting the potential fo r the application as the antibacterial materials in packaging,medical,and other fields.

RnA-binding proteins(RBPs)accompany RnA from synthesis to decay,mediating every aspect of RnA metabolism and impacting diverse cellular and developmental processes in *** RBPs undergo phase separation al.ng with their bound RnA to form and function in dynamic membraneless biomolecular condensates for spatiotemporal coordination or regulation of RnA *** evidence suggests that phase-separating RBPs with RnA-binding domains and intrinsically disordered regions play important roles in pl.nt development and stress ***,we summarize the current knowledge about how dynamic partitioning of RBPs into condensates controls pl.nt development and enables sensing of experimental changes to confer growth plasticity under stress conditions,with a focus on the dynamics and functional mechanisms of RBP-rich nuclear condensates and cytoplasmic granules in mediating RnA *** also discuss roles of multiple factors,such as environmental signals,protein modifications,and n6-methyladenosine RnA methylation,in modulating the phase separation behaviors of RBPs,and highlight the prospects and chall.nges for future research on phase-separating RBPs in crops.

Gold(Au)and palladium(Pd)play an increasing role in the production and human life;Therefore,it is of great significance to study their recovery.A 5,11,17,23-tetra-ethylthio-25,26,27,28-tetra-hydroxyl thiacalix[4]arene(TCAET)was synthesized specifically for the capture of Au(Ⅲ)and Pd(Ⅱ)from HCl medium by liquid-liquid *** a 0.1 mol·l^(-1)HCl medium,the transfer of Au(Ⅲ)and Pd(Ⅱ)from the aqueous phase to the organic phase was highly efficient,with a transfer ratio of 100%for Au(Ⅲ)and 98%for Pd(Ⅱ).Furthermore,the extraction equilibrium time for Au(Ⅲ)was just 5 ***'s method data demonstrated that TCAET formed complexes with Au(Ⅲ)and Pd(Ⅱ)in a ratio of 2:3 and 1:1,respectively,during the extraction *** showed high selectivity toward Pd(Ⅱ)and Au(Ⅲ)over other competing metal ***,both Au(Ⅲ)and Pd(Ⅱ)could be successfully stripped from the loaded organic phases with a 1.0 mol·l^(-1)thiourea in 0.5 mol·l^(-1)HCl and 0.5 mol·l^(-1)thiourea in 0.5 mol·l^(-1)HCl,*** obtained from five consecutive extraction-stripping cycles showed good reusability of TCAET toward Au(Ⅲ)and Pd(Ⅱ)*** conclusion can provide a certain reference for thiacalixarene in the recovery of precious metal species.

III-nitride materials are of great importance in the development of modern optoelectronics,but they have been limited over years by low light utilization rate and high dislocation densities in heteroepitaxial films grown on foreign substrate with limited refractive index contrast and large lattice ***,we demonstrate a paradigm of high-throughput manufacturing bioinspired microstructures on warped substrates by flexible nanoimprint lithography for promoting the light extraction *** design a flexible nanoimprinting mold of copolymer and a two-step etching process that enable high-efficiency fabrication of nanoimprinted compound-eye-like Al2O3 microstructure(nCAM)and nanoimprinted compound-eye-like SiO_(2)microstructure(nCSM)template,achieving a 6.4-fold increase in throughput and 25%savings in economic costs over stepper projection *** to nCAM template,we find that the nCSM template can not only improve the light extraction capability,but also modulate the morphology of Aln nucleation layer and reduce the formation of misoriented Gan grains on the incl.ned sidewall of microstructures,which suppresses the dislocations generated during coalescence,resulting in 40%reduction in dislocation *** study provides a low-cost,high-quality,and high-throughput solution for manufacturing microstructures on warped surfaces of III-nitride optoelectronic devices.
