Centrifugal and shear forces are produced when solids or liquids *** systems and devices that use these forces,such as dynamic thin-film flow technology,are evolving continuously,improve material structure-property relationships at the nanoscale,representing a rapidly thriving and expanding field of research high with green chemistry metrics,consolidated at the inception of *** vortex fluidic device(VFD)provides many advantages over conventional batch processing,with fluidic waves causing high shear and producing large surface areas for micro-mixing as well as rapid mass and heat transfer,enabling reactions beyond diffusion *** these abilities allows for a green and innovative approach to altering materials for various research and industry applications by controlling small-scale flows and regulating molecular and macromolecular chemical reactivity,self-organization phenomena,and the synthesis of novel *** review highlights the aptitude of the VFD as clean technology,with an increase in efficiency for a diversity of top-down,bottom-up,and novel material transformations which benefit from effective vortex-based processing to control material structure-property relationships.

The reservoir landslide undergoes periodic saturation-drying cycles affected by reservoir fluctuation in hydropower project area， leading to the irreversible impact on the landslide materials. Sliding zone is the shearing part in formation of landslide and controls the further development of landslide. The mechanical behavior of sliding zone soil under compression is a crucial factor in the stability analysis in landslide. In this paper， the sliding zone soil from a giant landslide in the biggest hydropower project area， Three Gorges area， is taken as the research case. The particle-size distribution of the sliding zone soil from this landslide is studied and fractal dimension is adopted as representation. Periodic saturation-drying is introduced as the affecting factor on sliding zone soil properties. The triaxial compression test is conducted to reveal the mechanical behavior of the soil， including stress-strain behavior， elastic modulus， failure stress and strength parameters. These behavior of sliding zone soils with different fractal dimensions are studied under the effects of periodic saturation-drying cycles. The normalized stress-strain curves are displayed for further calculation. The data considering saturation-drying cycles are obtained and compared with the experimental results.

The positive definiteness of real quadratic forms with convolution structures plays an important rolein stability analysis for time-stepping schemes for nonlocal operators. In this work, we present a novel analysistool to handle discrete convolution kernels resulting from variable-step approximations for convolution *** precisely, for a class of discrete convolution kernels relevant to variable-step l1-type time discretizations, weshow that the associated quadratic form is positive definite under some easy-to-check algebraic conditions. Ourproof is based on an elementary constructing strategy by using the properties of discrete orthogonal convolutionkernels and discrete complementary convolution kernels. To our knowledge, this is the first general result onsimple algebraic conditions for the positive definiteness of variable-step discrete convolution kernels. Using theunified theory, we obtain the stability for some simple nonuniform time-stepping schemes straightforwardly.

Gold(Au)and palladium(Pd)play an increasing role in the production and human life;Therefore,it is of great significance to study their recovery.A 5,11,17,23-tetra-ethylthio-25,26,27,28-tetra-hydroxyl thiacalix[4]arene(TCAET)was synthesized specifically for the capture of Au(Ⅲ)and Pd(Ⅱ)from HCl medium by liquid-liquid *** a 0.1 mol·l^(-1)HCl medium,the transfer of Au(Ⅲ)and Pd(Ⅱ)from the aqueous phase to the organic phase was highly efficient,with a transfer ratio of 100%for Au(Ⅲ)and 98%for Pd(Ⅱ).Furthermore,the extraction equilibrium time for Au(Ⅲ)was just 5 ***'s method data demonstrated that TCAET formed complexes with Au(Ⅲ)and Pd(Ⅱ)in a ratio of 2:3 and 1:1,respectively,during the extraction *** showed high selectivity toward Pd(Ⅱ)and Au(Ⅲ)over other competing metal ***,both Au(Ⅲ)and Pd(Ⅱ)could be successfully stripped from the loaded organic phases with a 1.0 mol·l^(-1)thiourea in 0.5 mol·l^(-1)HCl and 0.5 mol·l^(-1)thiourea in 0.5 mol·l^(-1)HCl,*** obtained from five consecutive extraction-stripping cycles showed good reusability of TCAET toward Au(Ⅲ)and Pd(Ⅱ)*** conclusion can provide a certain reference for thiacalixarene in the recovery of precious metal species.

A major challenge for the efficient treatment of traumatic brain injury is the need for therapeutic molecules to cross the blood-brain barrier to enter and accumulate in brain *** overcome this problem,researchers have begun to focus on nanocarriers and other brain-targeting drug delivery *** this review,we summarize the epidemiology,basic pathophysiology,current clinical treatment,the establishment of models,and the evaluation indicators that are commonly used for traumatic brain *** also report the current status of traumatic brain injury when treated with nanocarriers such as liposomes and *** can overcome a variety of key biological barriers,improve drug bioavailability,increase intracellular penetration and retention time,achieve drug enrichment,control drug release,and achieve brain-targeting drug ***,the application of nanocarriers remains in the basic research stage and has yet to be fully translated to the clinic.

Tri(2-chloropropyl)phosphate(TCPP)was an emerging contaminant of global concern because of its frequent occurrence,potential toxic effects,and persistence in the *** degradation might be an efficient and safe removal method,but limited information was *** this study,Providencia rettgeri was isolated from contaminated sediment and showed it could use TCPP as unique phosphorus source to promote growth,and decompose 34.7%of TCPP(1 mg/l)within 5 *** microbial inoculation and the initial concentration of TCPP could affect the biodegradation *** study results indicated that TCPP decomposition by Providencia rettgeri was mainly via phosphoester bond hydrolysis,evidenced by the production of bis(2-chloropropyl)phosphate(C6H13Cl2PO4)and mono-chloropropyl phosphate(C3H8ClPO4).Both intracellular and extracellular enzymes could degrade TCPP,but intracellular degradation was dominant in the later reaction stage,and the presence of Cu2+ions had a promoting *** findings developed novel insights into the potential mechanism of TCPP microbial degradation.

The pursuit of safer and high-performance lithium-ion batteries(lIBs)has triggered extensive research activities on solid-state batteries,while challenges related to the unstable electrode-electrolyte interface hinder their practical *** has been used extensively to improve the cathode-electrolyte interface in garnet-based all-solid-state lIBs(ASSlBs),while it introduces new concerns about thermal *** this study,we propose the incorporation of a multi-functional flame-retardant triphenyl phos-phate additive into poly(ethylene oxide),acting as a thin buffer layer between liNi_(0.8)Co_(0.1)Mn_(0.1)O_(2)(NCM811)cathode and garnet *** electrochemical stability tests,cycling performance evaluations,interfacial thermal stability analysis and flammability tests,improved thermal stability(capacity retention of 98.5%after 100 cycles at 60℃,and 89.6%after 50 cycles at 80℃)and safety characteristics(safe and stable cycling up to 100℃)are *** on various materials characterizations,the mechanism for the improved thermal stability of the interface is *** results highlight the potential of multi-functional flame-retardant additives to address the challenges associated with the electrode-electrolyte interface in ASSlBs at high *** thermal modification in ASSlBs operating at elevated temperatures is also essential for enabling large-scale energy storage with safety being the primary concern.

Social hierarchy is a general self-organizational scheme in animal societies in which each member achieves a certain status of domination or subordination when getting access to resources,with profound consequences for survival,health,reproductive success,and multiple behaviors[1,2].The prefrontal cortex(PFC)was recognized as a central regulator of neuronal circuits determining the formation of social hierarchy;brain areas upstream of the PFC convey information about social status,and downstream brain regions execute dominance behavior[3].Social deficits have been suggested to be due to an elevation of excitatory/inhibitory(E/l)balance within the mouse dorsomedial(dm)PFC[4].A compensatory increase of inhibitory cell excitability partially rescued social deficits caused by such a disturbance of E/l balance.

Anion-hosting cathodes capable of reversibly storing large-size anions play a leading role in dual-ion batteries(DIBs). The purpose of the present review is to summarize the most promising anion-hosting cathodes for current and late-stage DIBs. This review first summarizes the developments in conventional graphite cathodes, especially the latest advances in the graphiterelated research. Next, organic cathodes for the anion storage are discussed, including aromatic amine polymers, heterocyclic polymers, bipolar compounds, and all-carbon-unsaturated compounds. Then, the review focuses on the conversion-type cathodes with high theoretical specific capacities. Finally, the future research directions of the cathodes of DIBs are proposed.
