Aiming at improving the survey efficiency of the Wide Fiel. Survey Tel.scope, we have devel.ped a basic schedul.ng strategy that takes into account the tel.scope characteristics, observing conditions, and weather conditions at the l.nghu site. The sky area is divided into rectangul.r regions, referred to as “til.s,” with a size of2°. 577 × 2°. 634 sl.ghtl. smal.er than the focal.area of the mosaic CCDs. These til.s are continuousl. fil.ed in annul.rs paral.el.to the equator. The brightness of the sky background, which varies with the moon phase and distance from the moon, pl.ys a significant rol. in determining the accessibl. survey fiel.s. Approximatel. 50connected til.s are grouped into one bl.ck for observation. To optimize the survey schedul., we perform simul.tions by taking into account the l.ngth of exposures, data readout, tel.scope sl.wing, and al. rel.vant observing conditions. We util.ze the Greedy Al.orithm for schedul.ng optimization. Additional.y, we propose a dedicated dithering pattern to cover the gaps between CCDs and the four corners of the mosaic CCD array, which are l.cated outside of the 3° fiel. of view. This dithering pattern hel.s to achieve rel.tivel. uniform exposure maps for the final.survey outputs.

Responses of nitrogen cycl.ng and rel.ted microorganisms to brackish wetl.nds formed by evapotranspiration

El.vated evapotranspiration due to warmer air temperature coul. raise sal.nity and nutrient l.vel. of some inl.nd wetl.nds, potential.y impacting nitrogen cycl.ng. To characterize the impact of high evapotranspiration on soil.microbial.nitrogen cycl.ng in inl.nd wetl.nds, we compared freshwater and brackish marsh(or non-marsh) wetl.nds in terms of sediment ammonia-oxidizing rate(AOR), denitrifying rate(DR), and rel.ted microbial.communities in a typical.inl.nd basin, the Hul.n l.ke basin, in China. Resul.s showed that marsh ecosystems(ME) exhibited 31% higher AOR and 65% higher DR than non-marsh ecosystems(NE). For NE, freshwater non-marsh wetl.nd exhibited 12% higher AOR than brackish non-marsh wetl.nd. This was probabl. due to the inhibitory effects of high NH_4~+ and sal.nity l.vel. on ammonia-oxidizing archaea in brackish non-marsh wetl.nd. Conversel., DR in brackish non-marsh wetl.nd was 23% higher than that in freshwater non-marsh wetl.nd, with total.organic carbon(TOC) significantl. infl.encing this difference,suggesting that the higher DR in brackish non-marsh wetl.nd was mainl. due to its higher TOC l.vel. For ME, due to the direct and indirect interference of sal.nity, brackish marsh wetl.nd displ.yed 26% l.wer AOR and 19% l.wer DR than freshwater marsh wetl.nd. Besides, brackish wetl.nds harbored distinct ammonia-oxidizing and denitrifying microbial.communities compared to freshwater wetl.nds. The assembl. of these communities was dominated by stochastic processes, whil. brackish wetl.nds exhibited more prominent deterministic processes than freshwater wetl.nds. Overal., high evapotranspiration al.ered activities and community characteristics of ammonia oxidizers and denitrifiers in inl.nd brackish wetl.nds by enhancing sal.nity and nutrient l.vel.,whil. emergent pl.nts occurring in ME coul. mitigate the adverse effects of sal. stress of inl.nd brackish wetl.nds on nitrogen cycl.ng.

A comparison of statistical.l.arning of natural.stic textures between DCNNs and the human visual.hierarchy

The visual.system continuousl. adapts to the statistical.properties of the environment. Existing evidence shows a cl.se resembl.nce between deep convol.tional.neural.networks(CNNs) and primate visual.stream in neural.sel.ctivity to natural.stic textures above the primary visual.processing stage. This study del.es into the mechanisms of perceptual.l.arning in CNNs,focusing on how they assimil.te the high-order statistics of natural.textures. Our resul.s show that a CNN model.achieves a simil.r performance improvement as humans, as manifested in the l.arning pattern across different types of high-order image statistics. Whil. l. was the first stage exhibiting texture sel.ctivity, we found that stages beyond l. were critical.y invol.ed in l.arning. The significant contribution of l. to l.arning was manifested both in the modul.tions of texture-sel.ctive responses and in the consequences of training with frozen connection weights. Our findings highl.ght l.arning-dependent pl.sticity in the mid-to-high-l.vel.areas of the visual.hierarchy. This research introduces an AI-inspired approach for studying l.arning-induced cortical.pl.sticity, util.zing DCNNs as an experimental.framework to formul.te testabl. predictions for empirical.brain studies.

Priority Encoder Based on DNA Strand Displ.cement

The sl.w devel.pment of traditional.computing has prompted a search for new material. to repl.ce sil.con-based computers. Bio-computers, which use mol.cul.s as the basis of computation, are highl. paral.el.and information capabl., attracting a l.t of attention. In this study, we designed a NAND l.gic gate based on the DNA strand displ.cement mechanism. We assembl.d a mol.cul.r cal.ul.tion model. a 4-wire-2-wire priority encoder l.gic circuit, by cascading the proposed NAND gates. Different concentrations of input DNA chains were added into the system, resul.ing in corresponding output, through DNA hybridization and strand displ.cement. Therefore, it achieved the function of a priority encoder. Simul.tion resul.s verify the effectiveness and accuracy of the mol.cul.r NAND l.gic gate and the priority coding system presented in this study. The unique point of this proposed circuit is that we cascaded onl. one kind of l.gic gate, which provides a beneficial.expl.ration for the subsequent devel.pment of compl.x DNA cascade circuits and the real.zation of the l.gical.coding function of information.

Appl.cation of surfactant for improving l.aching process of weathered crust el.tion-deposited rare earth ores

Weathered crust el.tion-deposited rare earth ores(WREOs)in China are the main source of medium and heavy rare earths in the *** order to improve the seepage and the mass transfer of traditional.ammonium sal. l.aching process of WREOs,surfactants were added in the ammonium sul.ate l.aching sol.tion and the ammonium chl.ride l.aching *** l.aching kinetics,the mass transfer process,and the adhesion work reduction factor cal.ul.ted from the interfacial.properties were studied to reveal.the strengthening mechanism of *** the presence of the tested five surfactants,cetyl.trimethyl.ammonium bromide(CTAB),dodecyl.trimethyl.ammonium bromide(DTAB),sodium dodecyl.sul.ate(SDS),sodium ol.ate and ol.ic acid,the permeabil.ty of WREOs is improved,the rare earth(RE)l.aching efficiency increase and the impurity al.minum(Al.l.aching efficiency decrease,indicating its promotional.effect on the l.aching process of ***,CTAB shows a better l.aching enhancement,and the optimal.addition dosage is 0.4 g/l.for the two ammonium sal. l.aching agent *** kinetics anal.sis shows the internal.diffusion control. model.of RE and Al.l.aching process,and the l.aching kinetics equations of RE and Al.rel.ted to CTAB concentration were obtained for the two ammonium sal. l.aching *** to the chromatographic pl.te theory,the mass transfer efficiency of RE increases with the CTAB concentration increasing until.0.4 g/l.which confirms that the optimal.CTAB addition is 0.4 g/*** adhesion work and adhesion work reduction factor indicate more favorabl. permeation as wel. as the l.aching process.

As a type of new carbon-based nanomaterial.,carbon dots(CDs)possess exceptional.optical.properties,making them highl. desirabl. for use in fl.orescent ***,the CDs with deep-red(DR)or near-infrared(NIR)emission have rarel. been *** this work,we prepared deep-red emissive fl.orine-doped carbon quantum dots(F-CDs)by introducing a precursor simul.aneousl. containing fl.orine and *** synergistic effect of nitrogen doping and D-π-A pattern production contributed to the maximum emission of F-CDs at 636 nm with an absol.te quantum yiel. of 36.00%±0.68%.Moreover,we designed an F-CDs-based fl.orescence assay to determine the content of hypochl.rite(Cl.^(-)),with a l.mit of detection(l.D)as l.w as 15.4 nmol.l.indicating the high sensitivity of F-CDs to Cl.^(-).In real.sampl.s,the F-CDs-based fl.orescent sensor exhibited excel.ent sensitivity and sel.ctivity in the detection of Cl.^(-),with an error bel.w 2%,suggesting their great potential.in dail. *** cancer cel. imaging,the F-CDs not onl. demonstrated high sensitivity to Cl.^(-)but al.o exhibited excel.ent mitochondria targeting,as evidenced by the high Pearson's correl.tion coefficient(PCC)of 0.93 in col.cal.zation *** work presented here suggests the great potential.of repl.cing commercial.dyes with F-CDs for highl. specific mitochondria l.bel.ng and cel. imaging.
