Doping-driven dual heterogeneous interfacial structures boosting the durability of industry-compatible water splitting at high current density

Developing highly stable electrocatalysts under industry-compatible current densities(>500 mA cm^(-2))in an anion-exchange membrane water electrolyzer(AEMWE)is an enormous challenge for water ***,based on the results of density function theory calculations,a dual heterogeneous interfacial structured NiSe/Fe-Ni(OH)_(2)catalyst was subtly designed and successfully prepared by electrodepositing Fe-doped Ni(OH)_(2)on NiSe-loaded nickel foam(NF).Fe doping-driven heterogeneous structures in NiSe/Fe-Ni(OH)_(2)markedly boost catalytic activity and durability at industrially compatible current densities in single hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions under alkaline *** particular,NiSe/Fe-Ni(OH)_(2)shows a negligible performance loss at 600 mA cm^(-2)at least 1,000 h for overall water splitting,a distinguished long-term durability acting as AEMWE electrodes at 600 mA cm^(-2)and 1 A cm^(-2)at 85℃for at least 95 *** to Fe doping-induced strong synergetic effect between Ni and Fe,dual heterostructure-promoted charge transfer and redistribution,abundant catalytic active sites,and improvement of stability and durability,a mechanism of Fe doping-driven heterogeneous interfacial structurepromoted catalytic performance was *** study provides a successful example of theory-directed catalyst preparation and pioneers a creative strategy for industry-compatible water splitting at high current density.

The signal molecules melatonin and ethylene play key roles in abiotic stress *** interplay between melatonin and ethylene in regulating salt tolerance and the underlying molecular mechanism of this interplay remain ***,we found that both melatonin and 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid(ACC,a precursor of ethylene)enhanced the tolerance of grapevine to NaCl;additionally,ethylene participated in melatonin-induced salt *** experiments indicated that exogenous treatment and endogenous induction of melatonin increased the ACC content and ethylene production in grapevine and tobacco plants,*** expression of MYB108A and ACS1,which function as a transcription factor and a key gene involved in ethylene production,respectively,was strongly induced by melatonin ***,MYB108A directly bound to the promoter of ACS1 and activated its ***108A expression promoted ACC synthesis and ethylene production by activating ACS1 expression in response to melatonin *** suppression of MYB108A expression partially limited the effect of melatonin on the induction of ethylene production and reduced melatonin-induced salt ***,melatonin promotes ethylene biosynthesis and salt tolerance through the regulation of ACS1 by MYB108A.

This study aimed to investigate the antibacterial activity of Bacillus coagulans(***)T242 and its ability to alleviate the infection of Caco-2 cells with Salmonella Typhimurium(***)*** T242 has a broad spectrum of the antibacterial *** cell-free supernatants of *** T242 inhibited the growth of *** Sl1344 and changed its cell *** T242 inhibited the adhesion and invasion of *** Sl1344 to Caco-2 cells by adhering to Caco-2 cells,significantly reduced the production of interleukin-6(Il-6),Interleukin-8(Il-8)and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)which induced by *** Sl1344,also increased interleukin-10(Il-10)production,thereby alleviating the inflammatory response of Caco-2 *** T242 vegetative cells and spores could alleviate the decreased expression of tight junction proteins(Claudin-1,Occludin and ZO-1)caused by *** Sl1344 infection in Caco-2 cells by increasing the expression of Claudin-1,Occludin and *** study demonstrated that *** T242 could protect Caco-2 cells by adhesion,reducing inflammatory response and enhancing intestinal barrier ***,*** T242 will hopefully be an effective alternative to antibiotics,and this study has important implications for food safety issues.

Triptolide is a key active component of the widely used traditional Chinese herb medicine Tripterygium wilfordii *** triptolide exerts multiple biological activities and shows promising efficacy in treating inflammatory-related diseases,its well-known safety issues,especially reproductive toxicity has aroused ***,a comprehensive dissection of triptolide-associated testicular toxicity at single cell resolution is still ***,we observed testicular toxicity after 14 days of triptolide exposure,and then constructed a single-cell transcriptome map of 59,127 cells in mouse testes upon *** identified triptolide-associated shared and cell-type specific differentially expressed genes,enriched pathways,and ligand-receptor pairs in different cell types of mouse *** addition to the loss of germ cells,our results revealed increased macrophages and the inflammatory response in triptolide-treated mouse testes,suggesting a critical role of inflammation in triptolide-induced testicular *** also found increased reactive oxygen species(ROS)signaling and downregulated pathways associated with spermatid development in somatic cells,especially leydig and Sertoli cells,in triptolide-treated mice,indicating that dysregulation of these signaling pathways may contribute to triptolide-induced testicular ***,our high-resolution single-cell landscape offers comprehensive information regarding triptolide-associated gene expression profiles in major cell types of mouse testes at single cell resolution,providing an invaluable resource for understanding the underlying mechanism of triptolide-associated testicular injury and additional discoveries of therapeutic targets of triptolide-induced male reproductive toxicity.

Distributed temperature sensing(DTS)using heated cables has been recently developed for distributed monitoring of in-situ soil moisture *** this method,the thermal and electrical properties of heated cables have a significant influence on the measurement accuracy of soil moisture *** this paper,the performances of two heated cables,*** carbon-fiber heated cable(CFHC)and the metalnet heated cable(MNHC),are studied in the *** structures,uniformity in the axial direction,measurement accuracy and suitability are *** test results indicate that the MNHC has a better uniformity in the axial direction than *** CFHC and MNHC have high measurement *** CFHC is more suitable for short-distance measurement(500 m),while the MNHC can be used for longdistance measurement(>500 m).

Electrochemical production of hydrogen peroxide(H_(2)O_(2))via the two-electron(2e-)pathway of oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)supplies an auspicious alternative to the current industrial anthraquinone ***,it still lacks efficient electrocatalysts to achieve high ORR activity together with 2e-selectivity ***,a boron-doped defective nanocarbon(B-DC)electrocatalyst is synthesized by using fullerene frameworks as the precursor and boric oxide as the boron *** obtained B-DC materials have a hierarchical porous structure,befitting boron dopants,and abundant topological pentagon defects,exhibiting a high ORR onset potential of 0.78 V and a dominated 2e-selectivity(over 95%).Remarkably,when B-DC electrocatalyst is employed in a real device,it achieves a high H_(2)O_(2) yield rate(247 mg·l^(-1)·h^(-1)),quantitative Faraday efficiency(~100%),and ultrafast organic pollutant degradation *** theoretical calculation reveals that the synergistic effect of topological pentagon defects and the incorporation of boron dopants promote the activation of the O_(2) molecule and facilitates the desorption of oxygen *** finding will be very helpful for the comprehension of the synergistic effect of topological defects and heteroatom dopants for boosting the electrocatalytic performance of nanocarbon toward H_(2)O_(2) production.

Rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus(RHDV)is a member of the Caliciviridae family and cannot be propagated in vitro,which has impeded the progress of investigating its replication *** of an RHDV replicon system has recently provided a platform for exploring RHDV replication in host ***,aided by this replicon system and using two-step affinity purification,we purified the RHDV replicase and identified its associated host *** identified rabbit nucleolin(NCl)as a physical link,which mediating the interaction between other RNA-dependent RNA polymerase(Rd Rp)-related host proteins and the viral replicase Rd *** found that the overexpression or knockdown of NCl significantly increased or severely impaired RHDV replication in RK-13 cells,*** was identified to directly interact with RHDV Rd Rp,p16,and ***,NCl knockdown severely impaired the binding of Rd Rp to Rd Rp-related host ***,these results indicate that the host protein NCl is essential for RHDV replication and acts as a physical link between viral replicase and host proteins.

Probiotic properties of lactobacillus paraplantarum lS-5 and its effect on antioxidant activity of fermented sauerkraut

This study aimed to investigate the safety and probiotic properties of lactobacillus paraplantarum lS-5 isolated from traditional northeastern sauerkraut,and to assess the antioxidant capacity of different solvent extracts(ethanol,water,and hot water)of *** lS-5-inoculated *** lS-5 was shown to have various probiotic characteristics,such as good survival ability under artificial gastrointestinal conditions,antagonistic activity of various pathogens,non-biogenic amines,antibiotic susceptibility,and *** 2,2′-azino-bis-3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonate(ABTS)radical scavenging activity of the *** lS-5-inoculated sauerkraut alcohol extract(71.13%)was significantly higher than water extract(59.59%)(plcohol extract(614.93 Troloxμmol l^(-1))exhibited a slightly stronger ability compared to water extract(388.53 Troloxμmol l^(-1))and the heated sauerkraut water extract(383.20 Troloxμmol l^(-1))at extract concentrations of 5.0 mg ml^(-1).Its 1,1-diphenyl1-2-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH)radical scavenging activity was also *** was found by principal component analysis(PCA)and Pearson that the DPPH radical-scavenging activities of sauerkraut extracts were significantly correlated with the content of polyphenols and flavonoids(plike kimchi,Northeastern sauerkraut is consumed mainly by heating,so this study could contribute to understanding the antioxidant capacity of different solvent extracts of sauerkraut,and before and after heating water extracts.
