The most popular and representative classic waveform codes are referred to as orthogonal,bi-orthogonal,simplex,and etc,but the choice of waveform codes is essentially identical in error performance and cross correlation *** bi-orthogonal coding requires half the bandwidth of the others,such coding scheme is attractive only when large bandwidth is *** this paper,a novel finite projective plane（FPP） based waveform coding scheme is proposed,which is with similar error performance and cross ***,the bandwidth requirement will grow in a quadratic way,but not in an exponential way with the values of message bit numbers（k）.The proposed scheme takes obvious advantages over the bi-orthogonal scheme when k ≥ 6.

AIM:To investigate the impact of esophagogastroduodenoscopy with conscious sedation on the subsequent 24-h catheter-based pH ***:Fifty patients with extra-esophageal symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease undergoing ambulatory dual-probe 24-h pH monitoring were enrolled from March 2010 to August *** of the data were collected prospectively and analyzed ***-six patients(72%,group A) underwent pH monitoring shortly after esophagogastroduodenoscopy(EGD) with conscious sedation,and 14 patients(28%,group B) underwent pH monitoring without conscious *** 24-h pH data from two time periods were analyzed:the first 4 h(Period Ⅰ) and the remaining time of the study(Period Ⅱ).RESULTS:The mean age of the patients was 49.6 ± 12.5 years;20 patients(40%) were *** baseline data,including age,sex,body mass index,reflux esophagitis,the Reflux Symptom Index,and the Reflux Findings Score,were comparable between the two *** percentage of total time with a pH < 4 and the frequency of acid reflux during Period Ⅰ were not significantly different between the two groups,as measured using both pharyngeal(0.03% ± 0.10% vs 0.07% ± 0.16%,P = 0.32;and 0.07 ± 0.23 episodes/h vs 0.18 ± 0.47 episodes/h,P = 0.33,respectively) and esophageal probes(0.96% ± 1.89% vs 0.42% ± 0.81%,P = 0.59;and 0.74 ± 1.51 episodes/h vs 0.63 ± 0.97 episodes/h,P = 0.49,respectively).The percentage of total time with a pH < 4 and the frequency of acid reflux were also not significantly different between Periods I and Ⅱ in group A patients,as measured using both pharyngeal(0.03% ± 0.10% vs 0.23% ± 0.85%,P = 0.21;and 0.07 ± 0.23 episodes/h vs 0.29 ± 0.98 episodes/h,P = 0.22,respectively) and esophageal probes(0.96% ± 1.89% vs 1.11% ± 2.57%,P = 0.55;and 0.74 ± 1.51 episodes/h vs 0.81 ± 1.76 episodes/h,P = 0.55,respectively).CONCLUSION:EGD with conscious sedation does not interfere with the results of subsequent 24-h pH monitoring in patients with extra-esophageal

Background and purpose To analyse the long-term risk of ischaemic stroke and the clinical effects of antithrombotics on the risk of haemorrhagic stroke in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE).Methods A retrospective cohort study was conducted using a population-based database taken from Taiwan region Health Insurance Research *** with SLE between 2000 and 2008 were registered and matched with two controls by the index date,age,gender and Charlson Comorbidity Index(CCI).These subjects were followed until either stroke event or 31 December *** HRs(aHRs)for strokes were estimated with Cox regression models,and the cumulative incidence of ischaemic stroke was analysed by log-rank test and Kaplan-Meier survival *** In total,8310 patients with SLE and 16620 patients without SLE were *** general,patients with SLE had higher rates of ischaemic stroke(5.4%vs 3.3%)and haemorrhagic stroke(1.5%vs 0.6%)than in *** multivariate analysis adjusted to age,gender,CCI,urbanisation level and antithrombotics uses,aHRs of all strokes,ischaemic stroke and haemorrhagic stroke were 1.73(95%CI:1.54 to 1.94),1.65(95%CI:1.45 to 1.87)and 2.24(95%CI:1.71 to 2.95),respectively,in patients with *** with SLE were significantly more likely to suffer ischaemic stroke than patients without SLE,even 10 years after SLE diagnosis(6.12%vs 3.50%,p<0.001).Antiplatelet use increased the risk of haemorrhagic stroke in SLE group(aHR=1.74,95%CI:1.18 to 2.57).Conclusions Patients with SLE are at greater risk of developing ischaemic stroke that lasts for 10 *** should be carefully administered to prevent cardiovascular events in patients with SLE due to the risk of haemorrhagic stroke.

BACKGROUND Although important for determining long-term outcome, pathologic stage of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is difficult to predict before surgery. Current state-of-the-art magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) using gadoxetic acid provides many imaging features that could potentially be used to classify single HCC as pT1 or pT2. AIM To determine which gadoxetic acid-enhanced MRI (EOB-MRI) findings predict pathologic stage T2 in patients with solitary HCC (cT1). METHODS Pre-operative EOB-MRI findings were reviewed in a retrospective cohort of patients with solitary HCC. The following imaging features were examined: Hyperintensity in unenhanced T2-weighted images, hypointensity in unenhanced T1-weighted images, arterial enhancement, corona enhancement, washout appearance, capsular appearance, hypointensity in the tumor tissue during the hepatobiliary (HB) phase, peritumoral hypointensity in the HB phase, hypointense rim in the HB phase, intratumoral fat, hyperintensity on diffusionweighted imaging, hypointensity on apparent diffusion coefficient map, mosaic appearance, nodule-in-nodule appearance, and the margin (smooth or irregular). Surgical pathology was used as the reference method for tumor staging. Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed to identify predictors of microvascular invasion or satellite nodules. RESULTS There were 39 (34.2%;39 of 114) and 75 (65.8%;75 of 114) pathological stage T2 and T1 HCCs, respectively. Large tumor size (≥ 2.3 cm) and two MRI findings, i.e., corona enhancement [odds ratio = 2.67;95% confidence interval: 1.101-6.480] and peritumoral hypointensity in HB phase images (odds ratio = 2.203;95% confidence interval: 0.961-5.049) were associated with high risk of pT2 HCC. The positive likelihood ratio was 6.25 (95% confidence interval: 1.788-21.845), and sensitivity of EOB-MRI for detecting pT2 HCC was 86.2% when two or three of these MRI features were present. Electrical conductivity of molten slag is an important physicochemical property for designing the refming process in electric smelting furnaces. Though conductivities of many slag systems have been measured, the quantitative relationships of conductivity with slag composition and temperature are still very limited. In this article, the Arrhenius law was used to describe the experimental data of conductivities for CaO-MgO-Al2O3-SiO2, CaO-Al2O3-SiO2, CaO-MnO-AlEO3-SiO2, as well as CaO-MgO-MnO- Al2O3-SiO： systems, and it is found that activation energy can be expressed as a linear function of the content of components, where the optical basicity of slag must be within the range of 0.58 to 0.68.
