Introduction: Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women worldwide, representing a major public health problem. there is still little information comparing the satisfaction of the patients who finished their process against the ones who start it but did not finish it. the aim of our retrospective study was to analyze the results in terms of satisfaction after one year of undergoing to complete breast reconstruction (CBR) vs incomplete breast reconstruction (IBR). Materials and Methods: Retrospective study of patients that underwent breast reconstruction (BR) surgery after mastectomy for breast cancer treatment. Performed at Hospital Central Sur de Alta Especialidad PEMEX in Mexico City, including patients from January 1, 2015 to January 01, 2020. Demographic baseline variables were included. BREASt-Q satisfaction questionnaires one year after the last reconstructive procedure were analyzed. Results: A total of 44 patients fulfilled the inclusion criteria. Of these 44 patients, 11 were included in the IBR group, and 33 patients in the CBR group. there were no statistically significant differences between the two groups in terms of age (IBR 56.09 vs CBR 53.06 years, p = 0.321);BMI (IBR 27.94 vs CBR 26.40, p = 0.253), time from mastectomy to first reconstructive procedure (IBR 22.8 vs CBR 31 months, p = 0.957), history of chemotherapy (IBR 27.3% vs CBR 33.3%, p = 0.709) and radiotherapy (IBR 54.5% vs CBR 42.4%, p = 0.484), additionally type of reconstruction, affected side or complication rate were not significantly different. Regarding postoperative satisfaction, only the second module of satisfaction with breasts displayed statistically significant differences, with a higher score in the CBR group (46.27 vs 52.27, p = 0.019). Nowadays, probiotics have been utilized as starter cultures in the elaboration of fermented dairy products such as cheese. the survival of probiotic microorganisms in this type of products is very important in order to have a beneficial effect after their consumption. In addition to this, milk proteins are considered an important source of bioactive peptides. these peptides have been identified in hydrolyzed products of milk proteins and dairy products such as cheese. In this study, the protective effect on the survival of Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG was determined in a cheese which was inoculated only with this probiotic microorganism, and in another cheese additionally inoculated with Lactobacillus bulgaricus 2772 (exopolysaccharide producer bacteria). the ripening of these cheeses took place for 28 days at two different temperatures (4°C and 14°C). the proteolytic?capacity was analyzed by measuring the concentration of free amino groups, through the trinitrobenzenesulfonic acid method (tNBS). the separation of peptides was carried out by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) with 15% t. At the end of the study it was found that the population density was higher in the cheeses ripened at 14°C while at 4°C, it decreased. A?higher proteolytic activity at 14°C was also observed and it was determined by a higher concentration of free amino groups. Likewise, during the analysis of electrophoresis gels, a higher concentration of peptides smaller than 10 kDa was found in the samples of cheeses ripened at 14°C. these results increase the expectations to find peptides with a biological function.

the effects of applying an electromagnetic interaction of low intensity (EMILI) on the microstructure and corrosion resistance of 7075-t651 Al alloy plates (13 mm in thickness) during modified indirect electric arc (MIEA) welding were investigated. the welding process was conducted in a single pass with a heat input of ~1.5 kJ/mm. the microstructural observations of the welds were correlated with the effect of EMILI on the local mechanical properties and the corrosion resistance in natural seawater by means of microhardness measurements and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, respectively. Microstructural characterization of the welds revealed a grain refinement in the weld metal due to the electromagnetic stirring induced by EMILI of 3 mt during welding. In addition, observations in the scanning electron microscope showed that the precipitation of Cu-rich phases and segregation of eutectics were reduced in the heat affected zone (HAZ) also as an effect of EMILI. the high corrosion dissolution of the 7075-t651 welds in natural seawater and the extent of overaging in the HAZ were reduced when welding with EMILI of 3 mt. thus, EMILI along with the MIEA technique may lead to welded joints with better microstructural characteristics, improved mechanical properties in the HAZ and reduced electrochemical activity.

the study was conducted to determine the viability of producing organic onion under the fully converted area of Ramon Magsaysay Center for Agricultural Resources and Environment Studies （RMC-ARES）, Central Luzon State University, Philippines. Specifically, the study aimed to establish the fi＇equency of organic fertilizer and trichoderma spp. application, employing split application, and determine the yield performance of red onion （bulb type）. the research was conducted for two consecutive dry seasons （2014 and 2015）. Red Creole variety was used with the following treatments： t1--organic fertilizer alone （8 ton/ha） at planting; t2--organic fertilizer （8 ton/ha） applied twice （at basal and 30 d after transplanting （DAt））; t3---organic fertilizer （8 ton/ha） applied twice （at basal and 30 DAt）＋ trichoderma spp. at the rate of 526 kg/ha applied at planting; t4----organie fertilizer at 8 ton/ha rate ＋ trichoderma spp. at the rate of 526 kg/ha, both applied twice （at planting and 30 DAt）; t5--organic fertilizer at 8 ton/ha rate applied twice （at planting and 30 DAt）＋ trichoderma spp. at the rate of 526 kg/ha applied thrice （at planting, 30 DAt and during bulb formation）. Results of the study showed that application of the recommended rate of organic fertilizer twice （at planting and 30 DAt）＋ three times application of trichoderma spp. （at planting, 30 DAt and during bulb formation） consistently produced bigger bulb during the first and second trial of the study, compared to other treatments evaluated. Consequently, higher marketable yield was produced with 15.33 ton/ha during the first trial and 14.50 ton/ha on the second trial.

Blackberry (Rubus fructicosus) is one of the fruit with the highest concentration of anthocyanins;however, its use is limited for making jams, jellies and liqueur, and recently, fruit concentrates in combination with pomegranate, blueberry and grape. One of the main problems with these pigments is their poor stability in solution, mainly in beverages as liqueur and juices, which depends on factors such as chemical structure, pH, temperature, light, water activity, and presence of oxygen. the effect of light on total monomeric anthocyanins content as well as the degradation rates and browning of two blackberry ethanolic extracts is to establish the conditions for storage of liqueur without adding artificial food coloring. the initial content of anthocyanins on extract without storage was 106 mg?l-1. the study assessed the light irradiation effect on the anthocyanins of blackberry ethanolic extract. the anthocyanins degradation followed the second order reaction kinetics with respect to illuminance of the light source. the t1/2 value at high illuminance (3968.30 lx) was 28.20 hours.

A Retrospective Observational Analysis of Clinical Outcomes before and after the Publication of the AACE/ACE Guidelines

Background: the influence of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists/American College of Endocrinology (AACE/ACE) guidelines (hereafter, “guidelines”) on clinical outcomes of patients with diabetes is yet to be assessed. Objectives: to determine if differences occurred in type of: 1) medication class prescribed;2) therapy by A1c strata in type 2 diabetic (t2DM) patients before and after guidelines were published (December 2009). Methods: Data for this retrospective cohort study were extracted from community health center clinics’ electronic medical records for patients who: 1) were adults (18 - 80 years) with t2DM;and 2) had at least one A1c value before and after guidelines. Demographic characteristics and clinical outcomes [oral anti-diabetic (OAD) medication class, therapy type (mono, dual, triple), and A1c values] were collected. A1c was stratified into four levels: 9.0. Descriptive and inferential statis-tics were used. Results: the random sample of 302 patients was 55.4 ± 11.7 years of age, primarily female (65.9%) and Hispanic (68.8%). Regarding medication class, most (68.5% before and 72.2% after guidelines) patients were prescribed metformin. the proportion of patients across individual medication classes increased significantly (p tween the periods before and after guidelines, with the greatest percentage increase observed with dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors (36.2%). Chi-square results revealed a significant difference (p tween type of therapy and A1c strata. Before guidelines, 55.7% of patients with A1c values therapy, while 44.1% of patients with A1c values > 9% were on dual therapy. After guidelines, 48.4% of patients with A1c values therapy, while 31.8% of patients with A1c values > 9% were on dual therapy. Although having five different ways of transmission the vector-borne is the principal way of transmission of Chagas disease, which involves insects of the subfamily triatominae (Hemiptera: Reduviidae). Nineteen of the 31 species that occur in Mexico are associated with humans, and all are capable of transmitting the disease. Pyrethroids are the insecticides recommended for the control of these vectors in Mexico. We determined the susceptibility to the pyrethroids dcltamethrin and permethrin of peridomestic populations of triatoma mazzottii Usinger and two populations of triatoma longipetmis Usinger in comparison with a reference strain for each species. Bioassays were performed for the determination of the LD50 for both field populations and reference strains. A maximum of 27 fold resistance to deltamethrin was observed in t. mazzottii, meanwhile, for permethrin, t. longipennis from Jalisco show the highest value of 3.19 fold. there was significantly increased activity of esterases in field populations in comparison with their corresponding reference strain. the results of the search of kdr mutations related to the resistance to deltamethrin and permethrin in the evaluated species show the presence of mutations in the field populations, as is the case with individuals of t. mazzottii, for which the mutation was found A943V, and for the two populations of t. longipennis included in this study, we report the presence of the kdr mutation K964R. Evaluation of the various mechanisms involved in resistance to pyrethroids in triatomines from Mexico could guide us to the real justification for insecticide resistance monitoring.

the main objective of this study was always to know the profile of the institutionalized people in our environment, to know their reality： age, age of admission, level of dependency and evolution during their stay, years of stay, number of children, reason for admission. We use data from more than 600 patients from different residences of different backgrounds： public and private, lay and religious, rural and urban. We performed a descriptive study expressing the results in percentages with standard deviation and later evaluated the statistical significance of the differences using the student＇s t-test for the quantitative and Chi-square variables to compare qualitative variables. the results of the study are numerous and of diverse nature, because of their extension, from the general profile of the resident, to the important gender differences, attributed in principle to the different roles of each gender in the studied generations. there are also differences depending on the funding, the reason for admission or the environment. this is at the end only the beginning of a large comparative study with non-institutionalized population, in order to compare this population.
