Mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) are subjected to attack detectionfor transmitting and creating new messages or existing message *** attacker on another node evaluates the forging activity in themessage directly or indirectly. Every node sends short packets in a MANETenvironment with its identifier, location on the map, and time through *** attackers on the network broadcast the warning message usingfaked coordinates, providing the appearance of a network collision. Similarly,MANET degrades the channel utilization performance. Performancehighly affects network performance through security algorithms. This paperdeveloped a trust management technique called Enhanced Beacon TrustManagement with Hybrid Optimization (EBTM-Hyopt) for efficient clusterhead selection and malicious node detection. It tries to build trust amongconnected nodes and may improve security by requiring every participatingnode to develop and distribute genuine, accurate, and trustworthy materialacross the network. Specifically, optimized cluster head election is done periodicallyto reduce and balance the energy consumption to improve the lifetimenetwork. The cluster head election optimization is based on hybridizingParticle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Gravitational Search OptimizationAlgorithm (GSOA) concepts to enable and ensure reliable routing. Simulationresults show that the proposed EBTM-HYOPT outperforms the state-of-thearttrust model in terms of 297.99 kbps of throughput, 46.34% of PDR, 13%of energy consumption, 165.6 kbps of packet loss, 67.49% of end-to-end delay,and 16.34% of packet length.

The aim of the present work is fabrication of dual cross linked sodium alginate(SA)/montmorillonite(MMT) microbeads as a potential drug vehicle for extended release of curcumin(cUR). The microbeads were prepared using in situ ion-exchange followed by simple ionotropic gelation technique. The developed beads were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR), differential scanning calorimetry(DSc), thermogravimetric analysis(TGA), X-ray diffraction(X-RD) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM). The effect of MMT on encapsulation efficiency of cUR and intercalation kinetics was investigated. Dynamic swelling study and in vitro release study were investigated in simulated intestinal fluid(pH 7.4) and simulated gastric fluid(pH 1.2) at 37 ℃. Results suggested that both the swelling and in vitro release studies were influenced by the pH of test media, which might be suitable for intestinal drug delivery. The release mechanism was analyzed by fitting the release data into KorsmeyerPeppas equation.

Objective:To highlight the nephroprotective activity of ethyl acetate extract of dried flowers of Tecomu stans for its protective effects on genlamicin-induced nephrotoxicity in albino rats. Methods:For studying acute toxicity study,single oral dose of 5（KM） mg ethyl acetate floral extract/kg hodv weight was administered to albino rats（five females,five males）.Nephrotoxicity was induced in albino rats by intraperitoneal administration of gentamicin 80 mg/kg/day for eight *** of concurrent administration of ethyl acetate floral extract of Tecoma stans at a dose of 100.200 and 300 mg/kg/day given by oral mute was determined using serum creatinine,serum uric acid,blood urea nitrogen and serum urea as indicators of kidney *** study groups contained six rats in each *** nephrotoxicity of gentamicin is known to involve induction of oxidative stress,in vitro antioxidant aclivity and free radical-sc.v.nging activity of this extract was also ***:For acute toxicity testing both female and male rats administered with the extract at a dose of 5 000 mg/*** results showed no toxicity in terms of general behavior change,mortality,or change in gross appearance of internal organs(LD50>5 000 mg/kg). In order to improve the properties by chemical modification and to optimize the alkali concentration, we treated Borassus fruit fine fibers with aqueous sodium hydroxide solutions of different concentra- tions. In each case, the tensile properties of the fibers were determined. The morphology of the untreated and alkali treated fibers was observed using scanning electron microscope. The surface of the fibers became rough on alkali treatment. The tensile properties of the fibers improved on alkali treatment. The fibers attained maximum tensile properties when treated with 15% aqueous sodium hydroxide solution and decreased thereafter. The crystallinity index of the fibers showed a similar trend. The thermal stability of the alkali treated fibers was found to be higher than that of untreated fibers. Further, the char content was maximum for fibers treated with alkali having concentration of 15% and above. The chemical composition indicated that the percentageof a-cellulose was maximum when the fibers were treated with 15% aqueous sodium hydroxide solution and then decreased thereafter thus indicating the beginning of degradation of the fibers at higher concentrations. Thus, the optimum concentration of NaOH was established as 15% for alkali treatment of the Borassus fibers.

Structure and floristic composition of tree stand in tropical forest in the Eastern Ghats of northern Andhra Pradesh, India

The changes in species composition, abundance and forest stand structure were analyzed across altitudinal regimes in tropical forests of Eastern Ghats of northern Andhra Pradesh, India. Three 1-ha plots were established with one each in low, medium and high altitudes. A total of 153 species, 2129 stems （709 stems .ha^-1） of ≥10 cm girth were enumerated. Species richness and diversity pattern varied along altitudinal gradient and increased with the altitude. Species richness varied from 52 to 110 species-ha^-1 and stand density from 639 to 836 ***^-1 with average basal area of 34.39 m^***^-1. Shannon-Wiener index （H＇） ranged from 4.55 to 5.17. Low altitude （i.e., Site 1） is dominated byXylia xylocarpa （59.22） and Lagerstroemia parviflora （23.90）, medium altitude （i.e., Site 2） by Xylia xylocarpa （45;50） Bursera serrata （17.29）, and high altitude （i.e., Site 3） has Schleichera oleosa （28.25） Pterocarpus marsupium （26.55） as predominant species. Taxonomically, Rubiaceae （12 species）, Fabaceae （12）, Euphorbiaceae （11）, Rutaceae （7） and Lanraceae （7） were dominant families. Density-wise, Fabaceae, combretaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Anacardiaceae and Myrtaceae were abundant. Thus, conservation assessment based on altitudinal regimes and the information on species structure and function can provide baseline information for monitoring and sustaining the biodiversity.

Honne oil(tamanu)(H),a non-edible vegetable oil is native for northwards of Northern Marianas islands and the Ryukyu Islands in southern Japan and westward throughout *** has remained as an untapped new possible source of alternative fuel that can be used as diesel engine *** pertaining to use of vegetable oil in diesel engine with kerosene and dimethyl carbonate(DMc)is *** present research is aimed to investigate experimentally the performance,exhaust emission and combustion characteristics of a direct injection(DI)diesel engine,typically used in agricultural sector,over the entire load range,when fuelled with neat diesel(ND)and blends of diesel fuel(D)/DMc/H/kerosene(K).DMc/D/H/K blends have a potential to improve the performance and emissions and to be an alternative to *** have been conducted when fuelled with H20(20%H+80%D),HK(20%H+40%K+40%D)and HKD5(20%H+40%K+35D+5%DMc)to HKD15 in steps of 5%DMc keeping H and K percentages *** emissions(cO,Hc and smoke density(SD))of fuel blend HKD15 are found to be lowest,with SD dropping *** NOx level is slightly higher with HKD5 to HKD15 as compared to *** brake thermal efficiency of HKD5 to HKD15 is same and it is higher than that of *** is a good trade off between NOx and *** cylinder pressure and premixed combustion phase increases as DMc content increase.

Drugs for Non-alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH): Quest for the Holy Grail

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a global epidemic that is likely to become the most common cause of chronic liver disease in the next decade, worldwide. Though numerous drugs have been evaluated in clinical trials, most of them have returned inconclusive results and shown poorly-tolerated adverse effects. None of the drugs have been approved by the Food and Drug Administration for treating biopsy-proven non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). vitamin E and pioglitazone have been extensively used in treatment of biopsy-proven nondiabetic NASH patients. Although some amelioration of inflammation has been seen, these drugs did not improve the fibrosis component of NASH. Therefore, dietary modification and weight reduction have remained the cornerstone of treatment of NASH;moreover, they have shown to improve histological activity as well as fibrosis. The search for an ideal drug or ‘Holy Grail’ within this landscape of possible agents continues, as weight reduction is achieved only in less than 10% of patients. In this current review, we summarize the drugs for NASH which are under investigation, and we provide a critical analysis of their up-to-date results and outcomes.

Dynamic Fracture Toughness of Armour Grade Quenched and Tempered Steel Joints Fabricated Using Low Hydrogen Ferritic Fillers

The armour grade quenched and tempered steel joints fabricated using low hydrogen ferritic steel （LHF） filler exhibited superior joint efficiency owing to preferential ferrite microstructure in the welds and also they offered required resistance to HIc. However, the combat vehicles used in military operations will be required to operate under a wide range of road conditions ranging from first class to cross country. Structural components in combat vehicles are subjected to dynamic loading with high strain rates during operation. Stress loadings within the vehicle hull of these vehicles are expected to fluctuate considerably and structural cracking especially in welds during the service life of these vehicles can lead to catastrophic failures. Under these conditions, fracture behaviour of high strain rate sensitive structural steels can be better understood by dynamic fracture toughness （K1d）. Hence, an attempt was made to study dynamic fracture toughness of the armour grade quenched and tempered steel and their welds fabricated using LHF consumables. The experimental results indicate that the K1d values of the joints fabricated by shielded metal arc welding （SMAW） are higher than those of the joints fabricated using flux cored arc welding （FcAW） process.
