Assisted reproduction provides a wide spectrum of treatments and strategies addressing ***,distinct groups of infertile patients with unexplained infertility,congenital disorders,and other complex cases pose a challenge in in vitro fertilization(IVF)*** special cohort of patients is associated with futile attempts,IVF overuse,and dead ends in *** edge research on animal models introduced this concept,along with the development of artificial organs with the aim to mimic the respective physiological functions in *** on clinical application leads to the future use of infertility management in *** date,the successful clinical application of artificial reproductive organs in humans is not feasible because further animal model studies are required prior to clinical *** application of these artificial organs could provide a solution to infertility cases with no other *** manuscript presents an overview on the current status,future prospects,and considerations on the potential clinical application of artificial ovary,uterus,and gametes in *** paper presents how the IVF practice landscape may be shaped and challenged in the future,along with the subsequent concerns in assisted reproductive treatments.

Terlipressin has been shown to improve both pulmonary and systemic hemodynamics in stable cirrhotic patients with pulmonary hypertension,whereas other vasoconstrictors may cause pulmonary pressures to deteriorate We investigated the pulmonary and systemic hemodynamic effects of the first terlipressin dose(2 mg) in 7 cirrhotic patients with PH presenting with variceal bleeding(n=4) or hepatorenal syndrome(n=3).Terlipressin decreased pulmonary vascular resistance(158.8±8.9 vs 186.5±13.9 dynes sec cm-5 ;P=0.003) together with an increase in systemic vascular resistance(2143± 126 vs 1643±126 dynes sec cm-5 ;P<0.001).Terlipressin should be the vasoconstrictor treatment of choice when patients present with variceal bleeding or HRS.

When a microgrid is mainly supplied by renewable energy sources(RESs), the frequency deviations may deteriorate significantly the power quality delivered to the loads. This paper proposes a frequency-based control strategy, ensuring the frequency among the strict limits imposed by the Standard EN 50160. The frequency of the microgrid common AC bus is determined by the energy storage converter, implementing a proposed droop curve among the state of charge(SoC) of the battery and the frequency. Therefore, the information of the SoC becomes known to every distributed energy resource(DER) of the microgrid and determines the active power injection of the converter-interfaced DERs. The active power injection of the rotating generators remains unaffected, while any mismatch among the power generation and consumption is absorbed by the energy storage system. Finally, in case of a solid short-circuit within the microgrid, the energy storage system detects the severe voltage decrease and injects a large current in order to clear the fault by activating the protection device closer to the fault. The proposed control methodology is applied in a microgrid with PVs, wind generators and a battery, while its effectiveness is evaluated by detailed simulation tests.

In this editorial we comment on the article published“Clinical significance of programmed cell death-ligand expression in small bowel adenocarcinoma is determined by the tumor microenvironment”.Small bowel adenocarcinoma(SBA)is a rare gastrointestinal neoplasm and despite the small intestine's significant surface area,SBA accounts for less than 3%of such *** detection is challenging and the reason arises from its asymptomatic nature,often leading to late-stage discovery and poor *** involves platinum-based chemotherapy with a 5-fluorouracil combination,but the lack of effective chemotherapy contributes to a generally poor *** are linked to genetic disorders and risk factors,including chronic inflammatory *** unique characteristics of the small bowel,such as rapid cell renewal and an active immune system,contributes to the rarity of these tumors as well as the high intratumoral infiltration of immune cells is associated with a favorable *** cell death-ligand 1(PD-L1)expression varies across different cancers,with potential discrepancies in its prognostic *** instability(MSI)in SBA is associated with a high tumor mutational burden,affecting the prognosis and response to *** presence of PD-L1 and programmed cell death 1,along with tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes,plays a crucial role in the complex microenvironment of SBA and contributes to a more favorable prognosis,especially in the context of high MSI *** tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes are identified as independent prognostic indicators and the association between MSI status and a favorable prognosis,emphasizes the importance of evaluating the immune status of tumors for treatment decisions.

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC)is nowadays the fourth leading cause of cancer-related death worldwide,but according to recent estimations it will become the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the USA up to 2030,following lung *** implementation of neoadjuvant chemotherapy during recent years led to an increase of overall survival at 35 months in PDAC after R0 resection[1].However,pancreatic cancer has a particularity that makes it a real challenge for clinicians:only 20%of patients are diagnosed early enough to have a resectable pancreatic cancer,whereas 40%of patients present with locally advanced or non-resectable disease,while the rest present with distant metastases[2].Systemic chemotherapy plays the main role in metastatic PDAC treatment:polychemotherapy regimens such as FOLFIRINOX(folinic acid,5-fluorouracil,irinotecan and oxaliplatin)or combination of gemcitabine/nab-paclitaxel seemed to improve median overall survival from 6.8 to 11.1 months and 6.7 to 8.5 months,respectively[3].

This paper presents a system identification method to derive accurate mathematical models for an unmanned circulation control aerial vehicle(UC2AV)that account for the effects of circulation control(CC)on the vehicle *** X-plane flight simulator and the CIFER system identification software are utilized to first derive simulation models to verify and validate the proposed system identification *** is followed by flight tests to derive mathematical models and stability derivatives for the aircraft with CC-on and *** tests indicate a nose down pitching moment effect induced by CC,which in turn alter the UAV trim values and *** of the two sets of mathematical models reveal that CC changes the longitudinal trim values and improves the lateral maneuverability of the *** experiments indicate an acceptable match between the derived models and UAV dynamics by calculating root mean square(RMS)error values and by quantifying the model predictive ability through calculating the Theil inequality coefficient(TIC).

Arabinogalactan proteins(AGPs)are proteoglycans challenging researchers for ***,despite the extremely interesting polydispersity of their structure and essential application potential,studies of AGPs in fruit are limited,and only a few groups deal with this scientific ***,we summarise the results of pioneering studies on AGPs in fruit tissue with their structure,specific localization pattern,stress factors influencing their presence,and a focus on recent *** discuss the properties of AGPs,i.e.,binding calcium ions,ability to aggregate,adhesive nature,and crosslinking with other cell wall components that may also be implicated in fruit *** aim of this review is an attempt to associate well-known features and properties of AGPs with their putative roles in fruit *** putative physiological significance of AGPs might provide additional targets of regulation for fruit developmental programme.A comprehensive understanding of the AGP expression,structure,and untypical features may give new information for agronomic,horticulture,and renewable biomaterial applications.
