Synthetic polymers:A review of applications in drilling fluids

With the growth of deep drilling and the complexity of the well profile,the requirements for a more complete and efficient exploitation of productive formations increase,which increases the risk of various ***,reagents based on modified natural polymers(which are naturally occurring compounds)and synthetic polymers(SPs)which are polymeric compounds created industrially,are widely used to prevent emerging complications in the drilling ***,compared to modified natural polymers,SPs form a family of high-molecular-weight compounds that are fully synthesized by undergoing chemical polymerization *** provide substantial flexibility in their ***,their size and chemical composition can be adjusted to provide properties for nearly all the functional objectives of drilling *** can be classified based on chemical ingredients,type of reaction,and their responses to ***,some of SPs,due to their structural characteristics,have a high cost,a poor temperature and salt resistance in drilling fluids,and degradation begins when the temperature reaches 130℃.These drawbacks prevent SP use in some medium and deep ***,this review addresses the historical development,the characteristics,manufacturing methods,classification,and the applications of SPs in drilling *** contributions of SPs as additives to drilling fluids to enhance rheology,filtrate generation,carrying of cuttings,fluid lubricity,and clay/shale stability are explained in *** mechanisms,impacts,and advances achieved when SPs are added to drilling fluids are also *** typical challenges encountered by SPs when deployed in drilling fluids and their advantages and drawbacks are also *** issues also impact the applications of SPs in drilling ***,the cost of the most relevant SPs,and the monomers used in their synthesis,are *** impacts of SPs when deployed in drilling fluids,and t

electric Load Forecasting(eLF)is the central instrument for planning and controlling demand response programs,electricity trading,and consumption *** to the increasing automation of these processes,meaningful and transparent forecasts become more and more ***,at the same time,the complexity of the used machine learning models and architectures *** there is an increasing interest in interpretable and explainable load forecasting methods,this work conducts a literature review to present already applied approaches regarding explainability and interpretability for load forecasts using Machine *** on extensive literature research covering eight publication portals,recurring modeling approaches,trends,and modeling techniques are identified and clustered by properties to achieve more interpretable and explainable load *** results on interpretability show an increase in the use of probabilistic models,methods for time series decomposition and the use of fuzzy logic in addition to classically interpretable *** explainable approaches are Feature Importance and Attention *** discussion shows that a lot of knowledge from the related field of time series forecasting still needs to be adapted to the problems in *** to other applications of explainable and interpretable methods such as clustering,there are currently relatively few research results,but with an increasing trend.

Mg_(3)Bi_(2-x)Sb_(x)(0≤x≤2)have gained significant attention due to their potential in thermoelectric(Te)***,there has been much debating regarding their structural properties and phase diagram as a function of pressure,which is crucial for understanding of their Te ***,we investigate a unified phase diagram of Mg_(3)(Bi,Sb)_(2) materials up to 40 GPa at room temperature using high-pressure X-ray *** high-pressure phases with the structural transition succession of P3m1→C2/m→P21/n are observed,which is valid for all Mg_(3)Bi_(2-x)Sb_(x)(0≤x≤2)*** further explore the low-pressure phase P3m1 and report that alloying does not change the quasi-isotropic compression of the unit lattice parameters nor has effect on the anisotropic bond compressibility,as recently reported for the *** study presents a comprehensive picture of Mg3Bi2–xSbx as a function of pressure and chemical composition providing a solid foundation for the future experimental and theoretical studies searching for the most efficient Te compound in Mg_(3)(Bi,Sb)_(2).

For the first time,the mechanism of metal aluminum dissolution in NaF-ScF_(3) eutectic melts and the chemical interaction between the constituents of this mixture have been thoroughly studied by a combination of differential thermal analysis(DTA),high temperature and solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR),and X-ray diffraction(XRD) coupled with the molecular dynamic *** formation of an insoluble Al_(3)Sc alloy in molten(NaF-ScF_(3))_(eut)system was proven,and the chemical mechanism of this aluminothermic Al_(3)Sc alloy production was *** ex situ examinations bring to light the formation of NaScF_4 and solid solution of Na_(3)(Al,Sc)F_(6) in cooled *** molecular dynamics calculations of the bath allow us to construct the structural model and to predict viscosity,density and electrical conductivity of the reagent melt to help to optimize the conditions of the alloy synthesis.

Passive seismic investigation of intraplate earthquakes epicentral zones in the North of Russia as one of the ways to understand their source mechanics

Studying the inner structure of intraplate earthquakes originating in aseismic areas， which are poorly covered by seismic networks or as historical earthquakes is usually the only way to get knowledge about their source mechanisms that is partially important to deeper understand intraplate geodynamics. The epicentral zones of earthquakes are situated in hard-to-reach areas， so， using active seismic methods for such purposes is unreasonable or even impossible because of high cost and logistical difficulties. We are presenting a way to join using different passive seismic methods， which allows us to get sufficient information about geological environment structure for such task solutions. As an example， we investigated the inner structure of platform earthquake epicentral zone originated up north of Russia. We used four passive seismic methods: microseismic sounding method， passive seismic interferometry， HVSR method， and microseismic activity method. We show that passive seismic data， recoded in the same installation and processed by these different methods， can provide sufficient information about structure of studied environment， needed to explain source mechanism. In sum， the hypocenter zone is presented by intersection of vertical faults and a lateral fractured zone in the middle crust. Results were confirmed by comparison with results by active seismic methods.

Background:Acute improvement in range of motion(ROM)is a widely reported effect of stretching and foam rolling,which is commonly explained by changes in pain threshold and/or musculotendinous ***,these effects were also reported in response to various other active and passive interventions that induce responses such as enhanced muscle ***,we hypothesized that acute ROM enhancements could be induced by a wide variety of interventions other than stretching or foam rolling that promote an increase in muscle ***:After a systematic search in PubMed,Web of Science,and SPORTDiscus databases,38 studies comparing the effects of stretching and foam rolling with several other interventions on ROM and passive properties were *** studies had 1134 participants in total,and the data analysis resulted in 140 effect sizes(eSs).eS calculations were performed using robust variance estimation model with ***:Study quality of the included studies was classified as fair(PeDro score=4.58)with low to moderate certainty of *** showed no significant differences in ROM(eS=0.01,p=0.88),stiffness(eS=0.09,p=0.67),or passive peak torque(eS=-0.30,p=0.14)between stretching or foam rolling and the other identified *** plots revealed no publication ***:Based on current literature,our results challenge the established view on stretching and foam rolling as a recommended component of warm-up *** lack of significant difference between interventions suggests there is no need to emphasize stretching or foam rolling to induce acute ROM,passive peak torque increases,or stiffness reductions.
