Irbiben is a small gold deposit of the Precambrian inlier Tagragra d’Akka located in the Moroccan western Anti-Atlas, approximately 160 km southeast from Tiznit. Petrographic study shows that host rocks of Irbiben deposit are green schist facies metamorphic rocks, like metamorphic sandstone and schist, meta-pelite and quartzite. Gold is located in quartz veins or host rock with frequent injections of quartz. The petrographic characterization of alteration through the description of the alteration profiles and the comparative study of protolith and altered rocks showed a development of dominant quartz and calcite in mineralization wall-rocks. In moving away from it, there is rather sericite and chlorite. These phenomena are materialized respectively by the development of SiO2 and CaO in the wall-rocks but rather that ferromagnesian elements (FeO, MgO) and K2O away from the mineralization. These trends were demonstrated by the geochemical study through Harker diagrams, description of alteration profiles, comparative study of protolith and altered rocks, and use of a new alteration index, MIA, elaborated during this work.

7-(2-ethyltiophenyl) theophylline was used as copper corrosion inhibitor in 1M HnO3 solution. The study was performed using mass loss, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Density Functional Theory (DFT) methods. The results show that the inhibition efficiency increases up to 91.29% with increase of the inhibitor concentration (from 0.05 to 5 mM) but decreases with raising temperature of the solution. Copper dissolution was found to be temperature and 7-(2-ethyltiophenyl) theophylline concentration dependent. The thermodynamic functions related to the adsorption of the molecule on the copper surface and that of the metal dissolution were determined. The results point out a spontaneous adsorption and an endothermic dissolution processes. Adsorption models including Langmuir, El-Awady and Flory-Huggins isotherms were examined. The results also suggest spontaneous and predominant physical adsorption of 7-(2-ethyltiophenyl) theophylline on the metal surface which obeys Langmuir isotherm model. Further investigation on the morphology using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) has confirmed the existence of a protective film of inhibitor molecules on copper surface. Furthermore, the global and local reactivity parameters of the studied molecule were analyzed. Experimental and theoretical results were found to be in good agreement.

This study was undertaken to measure the impact of fertilizers (nitrogen-potassium) on the growth and the development of plantain banana. Different doses of fertilizers (T2, T3, T4, T5 and T6) were applied to two hybrid varieties (PITA 3 and FHIA 21) and a traditional variety (CORnE 1) on an experimental split plot plan with a planting density of 2500 plants per hectare. Results showed that fertilizers improve parameters of plantain than control (T1). T6 with high potassium content (240 kg·ha−1 n and 987 kg·ha−1 K) improved the growth (35.72 ± 0.95 cm·month−1) and the widening (9.56 ± 0.17 cm·month−1) of PITA 3, and performed FHIA 21 agronomic parameters by reducing the length of the production cycle and increased the length of fruits. T2 treatment improved FHIA 21 agronomic and yield parameters. Also, the weight of CORnE 1 regimens (9.00 ± 0.67 kg) and fruits (296.59 ± 4.50 g), the length (33.37 ± 0.31 cm) and the circumference (14.73 ± 0.31 cm) increased with T2. T4 induced shorter production cycle of PITA 3 (390.40 ± 0.67 cm·month−1), improved PITA3 regimens weight (10.33 ± 0.44 kg) and the number of hands by regimen (6.00 ± 0.00) of FHIA 21. T3 with weak nitrogen content (120 kg·ha−1 n and 658 kg·ha−1 K) improved the characteristics of PITA 3 fruit

The Uranium-238 (238U), Thorium-232 (232Th) families and Potassium-40 (40K) are of terrestrial origin and contribute generally to an individual’s external exposure through our presence in this environment. They also contribute to the internal exposure through the ingestion of products and beverages such as water that are close to the earth. The aim of this work is to determine the committed effective dose or Total Indicative Dose (TID) due to gamma radioactivity of the borehole water from the nord Riviera (nR) well field operated by the Côte d’Ivoire Water Distribution Company (SODECI) for the supply of drinking water to part of the population of Abidjan. In addition, the populations, with their habits, could use these borehole waters directly as drinking water. To this end, water samples from the seven (07) functional boreholes were collected and analyzed on a gamma spectrometry chain, equipped with an HPGe detector in the laboratory of the Radiation Protection Institute (RPI) of the GHAnA Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC). The results of the specific activities of 238U, 232Th and 40K obtained were transcribed into TID. As the natural radioactivity of the borehole water is high [1], the TIDs calculated from the activity results of the natural radionuclides238U, 232Th, and 40K vary for the seven boreholes from 0.150 to 0.166 mSv/yr with an average of 0.161 ± 0.034 mSv/yr. The TID of the control tower, where the borehole water is mixed and treated for household use, is equal to 0.136 ± 0.03 mSv/yr. The TIDs obtained are therefore all slightly greater than the WHO reference dose value of 0.1 mSv/yr. But all remain below the UnSCEAR reference dose of 0.29 mSv/yr.

Craniofacial Horn Injuries: Rares Lesional Entities at the University Hospital of Bouaké(Côte d’Ivoire)

Aim: Describe the epidemiological, clinical and therapeutic particularities of craniofacial trauma by encornment. Type of study: This was a retrospective and descriptive study. Material and methods: It took place in the surgical emergency departments of Bouaké (Côte d’Ivoire) University Hospital from January 2013 to December 2017, for a period of 5 years. It focused on patients of 0 to 5 years old admitted for craniofacial trauma involving the horn of a bovine. Results: Of the 26 cases of traumatic encornment, 11 were craniofacial location (42%). There were 9 male and 2 female victims. The average age was 10.54 years with extremes of 6 months and 24 years. Patients came from rural areas of Côte d’Ivoire. Bovids were responsible for all causal encornements. The lesions involved the scalp (3 cases) and the face (8 cases). The lesions were cutaneous-musculo skeletal in 7 cases. The surgical treatment included debridement associated to a suture in all cases and associated with maxillo mandibular blockage in 3 cases and duro-cranioplasty in one case. Conclusion: In the local context, facial cranio traumatism by encornement is rare and seems to be essentially infantile, masculine and rural problem.

Vitamin D and Parathyroid Hormone Profiles in Living Kidney Failure Patients in Côte d’Ivoire

Introduction: Abnormalities in mineral and bone metabolism, particularly phosphocalcic metabolism, are common in renal failure and are associated with a significant morbidity and mortality. The regulation of phosphocalcic metabolism is subject to a particularly precise and complex control of parathormone (PTH) and vitamin D. Assessment of vitamin D and parathyroid hormone concentrations would help to improve the medical management of patients with chronic kidney disease and ensure a better quality of life. Methods: The study population consisted of 138 individuals including 46 non- dialysis renal failure patients, 46 chronic hemodialysis patients and 46 non- renal failure volunteers to serve as controls. Serum Parathyroid hormone and Vitamin D concentrations were measured using the Vidas automated system. Results: 25-hydroxyvitamin D concentrations in controls (65 ± 2.41 nmol/L) and dialysis patients (70 ± 3.03 nmol/L) were significantly higher than those in CKD patients (48 ± 3.34 nmol/L). On the other hand, the mean values of Parathyroid hormone in dialysis patients (312 ± 36.22 pg/mL) and CKD patients (117 ± 10.68 pg/mL) were very high compared to that in controls (25 ± 2.34 pg/mL). Conclusion: Secondary hyperparathyroidism is common in renal failure. Parathyroid hormone and 25-hydroxyvitamin D assays would be adequate for better management of chronic renal failure.

In this study, the SEBAL (Surface Energy Balance Algorithm for Land) model was used to map the spatio-temporal distribution of actual evapotranspiration in the Yamoussoukro department (Côte d’Ivoire). Like other regions of the country, the Yamoussoukro district is confronted with the phenomenon of evapotranspiration (ET). This is a very important component that comes into play in the water balance but also in the calculation of the water needs of agricultural crops. Consequently, its estimation is of paramount importance in research related to the rational management of water resources, particularly agricultural water. The objective of this study was to analyze the spatio-temporal distribution of actual evapotranspiration (AET) as a function of land cover and land use. The methodology used is based on the SEBAL model which uses remote sensing (Landsat 8_OLI/TIRS) and climatic data to estimate actual evapotranspiration and analyze the spatio-temporal distribution of AET. The results reveal that the AET varied from 0 to 5.44 mm/day over the period from December 2019 to February 2020 with an average value of 4.92 mm/day. The highest average values occurred for water bodies (4.90 mm/day) and flooded vegetation (4.88 mm/day) while the lowest values occurred in residential areas (2.04 mm/day). Furthermore, the results show that the difference between the SEBAL model and the FAO-Penman-Monteith method is minimal with an average RMSE of 0.36 mm/day for all the satellite images. This study demonstrates the considerable potential of remote sensing for the characterization and estimation of spatial evapotranspiration in the Zatta irrigated rice-growing area.

Introduction: Complex post-traumatic facial disfigurements are caused by civilian or ballistic trauma. Their repercussions are functional, aesthetic and psychological. The initial emergency or secondary management of facial damage is difficult. The objective is to report, through the clinical observation of three patients, the results of the management of complex facial dislocations in a context of limited technical resources. Patients and methods: Three complex post-traumatic facial dislocations were managed between May 2006 and June 2017. Results: Primary treatment and secondary repair were established on a case-by-case basis. Local autoplasty was the indication of choice. Multidisciplinary management resulted in satisfactory functional and cosmetic outcomes. Two of the patients were lost to follow-up before the end of treatment. Discussion: The complete management of facial dislocations remains difficult and complex, in an extreme exercise situation. In an emergency, the priority is to save the life of the injured person. Several factors are involved in the therapeutic decision: the choice of the maxillofacial reconstruction technique, the availability of the technical platform, the financial capacity and the psychological state of the patient and his entourage. Sequential and multidisciplinary treatment gives satisfactory results in terms of morphology, function and aesthetics, despite the limited technical resources available. Psychological support is an essential complement for successful socio-professional and family reintegration.

Objective:The relationship between mitochondrial DnA(mtDnA)polymorphisms and abnormalities in sperm quality has been the subject of several studies,with the objective of improving the treatment of male *** study,which contributes to the identification of genetic markers of sperm abnormalities,was conducted to study mtDnA mutations in the asthenozoospermia ***:This case-control study included 30 patients with asthenozoospermia and 28 with normospermia after spermogram and spermocytogram *** the extraction of total DnA from the spermatozoa of 58 ejaculates from these individuals using the phenol-chloroform method,the amplification of genes of interest in mtDnA using specific primers was performed by conventional polymerase chain reaction,and sequencing was used to detect ***:Male patients with asthenozoospermia in the tertiary sector had significantly more mutant-than wild-type(P=0.0005)MT-CO II ***,for the same gene,males with asthenozoospermia and primary infertility had significantly more mutants than the wild-type(P=0.001).Sequencing revealed 29 mutations that were observed only with asthenozoospermia,which could be the basis for low sperm ***:This study identified several mutations in mtDnA genes that could be considered genetic markers of asthenozoospermia if confirmed in a deeper study.

Objective:The objective of this work is to describe the epidemiological profile of overweight or obese children monitored at the nutrition service of the national Institute of Public Health(InSP)of ***:This is a retrospective and cross-sectional study that took place from April 28,2017 to December 28,2018 at the nutrition Department of the *** concerned 181 children or adolescents of both sexes aged 5 to 19 years monitored for their excess weight in the said *** was collected using a summary sheet of medical records over the study ***:The results obtained indicate that out of all 181 young patients,130(71.8%)were girls,of which 122(67.4%)were obese.49.2%of these patients were between 10 and 14 years old with a mean age of 12.24 *** biochemical assessment showed that the disturbance was always greater in obese patients except for the proportion of biochemical results disturbed in uric acid level which was higher in overweight *** subjects developed eating disorders such as overeating for 87.8%and snacking in 55.2%of ***:The epidemiological profile of overweight children and adolescents requires a rapid fight against this pathology.
