Several characterization methods have been developed to investigate the mechanical and structural properties of vertically aligned carbon nanotubes （VACNTs）. Establishing analytical models at nanoscale to interpret these properties is complicated due to the nonuniformity and irregularity in quality of as-grown samples. In this paper, we propose a new methodology to investigate the correlation between indentation resistance of multi-wall carbon nanotube （MWCNT） turfs, Raman spectra and the geometrical properties of the turf structure using adaptive neuro-fuzzy phenomenological modeling. This methodology yields a novel approach for modeling at the nanoscale by evaluating the effect of structural morphologies on nanomaterial properties using Raman spectroscopy.

The steady progress in medical diagnosis and treatment of diseases largely hinges on the steady development and improvement of modern imaging *** spectroscopy has attracted increasing attention for clinical applications as it is label-free,non-invasive,and delivers molecular fingerprinting information of a *** combination with fiber optic probes,it also allows easy access to different body parts of a ***,image acquisition with fiber optic probes is currently not ***,we introduce a fiber optic probe-based Raman imaging system for the real-time molecular virtual reality data visualization of chemical boundaries on a computer screen and the physical *** approach is developed around a computer vision-based positional tracking system in conjunction with photometric stereo and augmented and mixed chemical reality,enabling molecular imaging and direct visualization of molecular boundaries of three-dimensional *** proposed approach achieves a spatial resolution of 0.5 mm in the transverse plane and a topology resolution of 0.6 mm,with a spectral sampling frequency of 10 Hz,and can be used to image large tissue areas in a few minutes,making it highly suitable for clinical tissueboundary demarcation.A variety of applications on biological samples,i.e.,distribution of pharmaceutical compounds,brain-tumor phantom,and various types of sarcoma have been characterized,showing that the system enables rapid and intuitive assessment of molecular boundaries.

Diabrotica virgifera virgifera(western corn rootworm,WCR)is one of the most destructive agricultural insect pests in North *** is highly adaptive to environmental stimuli and crop protection ***,little is known about the underlying genetic basis of WCR behavior and *** specifically,the involvement of small RNAs(s RNAs),especially micro RNAs(mi RNAs),a class of endogenous small non-coding RNAs that regulate various biological processes,has not been examined,and the datasets of putative s RNA sequences have not previously been generated for *** achieve a comprehensive collection of s RNA transcriptomes in WCR,we constructed,sequenced,and analyzed s RNA libraries from different life stages of WCR and northern corn rootworm(NCR),and identified 101 conserved precursor mi RNAs(pre-mi RNAs)in WCR and other *** also identified 277 corn rootworm specific pre-mi *** analyses of s RNA populations in WCR revealed that its s RNA transcriptome,which includes PIWI-interacting RNAs(pi RNAs)and mi RNAs,undergoes a dynamic change throughout insect *** analysis of mi RNA datasets from model species reveals that a large pool of species-specific mi RNAs exists in corn rootworm;these are potentially evolutionarily *** of WCR mi RNA clusters to other insect species highlight conserved mi RNA-regulated processes that are common to *** Analysis of RNA Ends(PARE)also uncovered potential mi RNA-guided cleavage sites in ***,this study provides a new resource for studying the s RNA transcriptome and mi RNA-mediated gene regulation in WCR and other Coleopteran insects.

Metastases of uveal melanoma(UM)spread predominantly to the *** to low response rates to systemic therapies,liver-directed therapies(LDT)are commonly used for tumor *** impact of LDT on the response to systemic treatment is unknown.A total of 182 patients with metastatic UM treated with immune checkpoint blockade(ICB)were included in this *** were recruited from prospective skin cancer centers and the German national skin cancer registry(ADOReg)of the German Dermatologic Cooperative Oncology Group(DeCOG).Two cohorts were compared:patients with LDT(cohort A,n=78)versus those without LDT(cohort B,n=104).Data were analyzed for response to treatment,progression-free survival(PFS),and overall survival(OS).The median OS was significantly longer in cohort A than in cohort B(20.1 vs.13.8 months;P=0.0016)and a trend towards improved PFS was observed for cohort A(3.0 vs.2.5 months;P=0.054).The objective response rate to any ICB(16.7%vs.3.8%,P=0.0073)and combined ICB(14.1%vs.4.5%,P=0.017)was more favorable in cohort *** data suggest that the combination of LDT with ICB may be associated with a survival benefit and higher treatment response to ICB in patients with metastatic UM.

＜正＞The MAN hydrogen engines developed from natural-gas engines work to the four-stroke otto （spark-ignition） principle. The total displacement of 12 l is divided up between six horizontal in-line cylinders. The engines have hydrogen injectors at the intake arms for external mixture formation. To reduce NOX the exhaust gas is cleaned in a reduction catalyst at a fuel-air ratio of lambda ＜ *** H 2866 UH hydrogen engine was developed first. This engine can be changed over from petrol to hydrogen operation. With hydrogen as fuel its output is 140 kW, while its maximum torque amounts to 700 Nm. Between 1996 and 1998 this engine was successfully used in local public transport in a city bus with liquid hydrogen storage *** successor model H 2866 UH01 is an improved monofuel version of that engine. Since 1998 this hydrogen engine has been used in three low-floor articulated buses on the apron at Munich airport. The buses have so far clocked up over 300,000 km.
