Stress enhances expression of calcium-binding proteins and NMDAR subunit genes in the rat hippocampus

Backgrounds:Oxidative stress impairs the function of calcium-binding proteins and deregulates calcium signaling in living *** have previously explored the overexpression of calcium-binding protein genes in a reactive oxygen and nitrogen species-induced in vitro cell model of stress that leads to ***,in in vivo models,low levels of stress leads to depressive-like ***,we aimed to analyze gene expression of major calcium-binding proteins(calcineurin,calmodulin,calsyntenin,synaptotagmin,and calreticulin)and N-methyl-D-aspartic acid(NMDA)receptor subunits(glutamate receptor ionotropic[GluN]GluN1,GluN2A,and GluN2B)in the hippocampus of stress-induced ***:Six-week-old male Wistar rats were assigned to two stress induction groups and a control group without stress(n=6).Stress was induced by using H_(2)O_(2)(3%in water)or by immobilization(using a sticky mat)over a period of 30 *** of calcium-binding protein genes in the hippocampus,antioxidant assays,structural alterations in hippocampal neurons,and depressive-like behavior were ***:Expression of genes encoding calcium-binding proteins calcineurin,calsyntenin,synaptotagmin and NMDA receptor subunit GluN1 was enhanced in both chemical and physical stress-induced rats compared with control rats(4.25±0.05 vs.1.03±0.02,p<0.05,2.05±0.08vs.1.03±0.02,p<0.005;2.2±0.4 vs.1.02±0.03,p<0.05,1.98±0.07 vs.1.02±0.03,p<0.005;1.4±0.6 vs.1.15±0.09,p<0.05,1.39±0.05 vs.1.15±0.09,p<0.005),*** stress-induced rats,neurons in the CA2 region of the hippocampus were fewer and appeared disorganized compared with control ***,stressinduced rats showed decreased mobility and lower sucrose preference in behavioral studies compared with control ***:Lower levels of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species(RONS)can also lead to stress in rats by affecting their calcium signaling,buffering capacity in the neurons leading to depressive symptoms.

Changes in soil biochemical properties following replacement of Banj oak forest with Chir pine in Central Himalaya,India

Introduction:In Central Himalaya,anthropogenic activities have led to the widespread replacement of Banj oak(Quercus leucotrichophora)forest by Chir pine(Pinus roxburghii)for *** study was conducted to determine how natural Banj oak,Chir pine,and mixed oak-pine forest would differ in soil microbial biomass and soil *** microbial biomass nitrogen(SMBN)and phosphorus(SMBP),soil organic carbon(SOC)total nitrogen(TN),and total phosphorus(TP)in the 0 to 15 cm soil layer were investigated in the Central Himalayan region in the stands of Banj oak,mixed oak-pine,and Chir pine ***:The SMBN and SMBP were significantly higher in Banj oak and mixed oak-pine forest as compared to Chir pine *** ratios of SMBN to TN(SMBN/TN)and SMBP to TP(SMBP/TP)were significantly higher in the Chir pine forest,indicating that in this forest,the proportion of microbial biomass N and P to total soil N and P was higher as compared to Banj oak forest.A similar pattern of variation was found in relation to season across the forests,all with an apparent peak in the rainy ***:These results indicate that low microbial biomass N and P may be one of the reasons to create a nutrient poor site in Chir pine *** collection of pine litter by local people also impairs the return of nutrients to the soil and makes it difficult for Banj oak to re-invade areas occupied by Chir *** calls for cautions in large-scale conversions of the Banj oak forests to coniferous plantations as a forest management practice on concerns of sustaining soil productivity.

The Lomagundi(-Jatuli)event,characterized by extremely high positive global inorganic carbon isotope excursion at about 2.2 billion years ago,is pivotal in investigating the causes and consequences of great oxygenation event,inventory and sequestration of carbon on the Earth’s surface,evolution of life,and more profoundly tectonic control on Earth’s ***,the reasons that caused the isotopic excursion are not resolved ***,we report the discovery of meta-carbonate rocks with distinct positive carbon isotopic excursion from the Paleoproterozoic continental collision zone of the Kongling Complex,South China *** δ^(13)C_(V-PDB) values for meta-carbonate rocks show positive values in the range from+5.5‰to+11.6‰,whereas the δ^(13)C_(V-PDB) values of associated graphite deposits range from-25.8‰to-9.5‰.Zircon U-Pb-Hf isotopes from zircon-bearing meta-carbonate sample yielded weighted average _(207)Pb/_(206)Pb age of 2001.3±9.5 Ma,with correspondingε_(Hf)(t)range from-7.05 to-3.16,comparable to the values of local 2.9–2.6 Ga basement *** characteristics of meta-carbonate rocks,such as their rare earth element patterns and the trace element parameters of La,Ce,Eu,and Gd anomalies and Y/Ho ratio,suggest that the carbonate deposition took place in passive continental margin in association with large volumes of organic *** extensive graphite deposits from Kongling Complex in South China Craton,their equivalents in the North China Craton and elsewhere across the globe prove that the burial of ^(12)C-enriched organic carbon has eventually resulted in the global enrichment of ^(13)C in the atmospheric CO_(2),which is recorded in the marine carbonate *** mass balance estimates indicate that more than half of the organic carbon was buried during the oceanic ***,the observed global shift could be directly related to the continent collision event in greater China,thus resolving the long-standing paradox of the Lomag

Thermodynamic equations of state(EOS)for crystalline solids describe material behaviors under changes in pressure,volume,entropy and temperature,making them fundamental to scientific research in a wide range of fields including geophysics,energy storage and development of novel *** over a century of theoretical development and experimental testing of energy–volume(E–V)EOS for solids,there is still a lack of consensus with regard to which equation is indeed optimal,as well as to what metric is most appropriate for making this *** this study,several metrics were used to evaluate quality of fit for 8 different EOS across 87 elements and over 100 compounds which appear in the *** findings do not indicate a clear“best”EOS,but we identify three which consistently perform well relative to the rest of the ***,we find that for the aggregate data set,the RMSrD is not strongly correlated with the nature of the compound,e.g.,whether it is a metal,insulator,or semiconductor,nor the bulk modulus for any of the EOS,indicating that a single equation can be used across a broad range of classes of materials.

Malware Security Intelligence constitutes the analysis of applications and their associated metadata for possible security *** Programming Interfaces(API)calls contain valuable information that can help with malware *** malware analysis with reduced feature space helps for the efficient identification of *** goal of this research is to find the most informative features of API calls to improve the android malware detection *** swarm optimization methods,viz.,Ant Lion Optimization(ALO),Cuckoo Search Optimization(CSO),and Firefly Optimization(FO)are applied to API calls using auto-encoders for identification of most influential *** nature-inspired wrapperbased algorithms are evaluated using well-known Machine Learning(ML)classifiers such as Linear Regression(LR),Decision Tree(DT),Random Forest(RF),K-Nearest Neighbor(KNN)&SupportVector Machine(SVM).A hybrid Artificial Neuronal Classifier(ANC)is proposed for improving the classification of android *** experimental results yielded an accuracy of 98.87%with just seven features out of hundred API call features,i.e.,a massive 93%of data optimization.

Bio-inspired computational heuristics to study models of HIV infection of CD4＋ T-cell

In this work, biologically-inspired computing framework is developed for HIV infection of CD4＋ T-cell model using feed-forward artificial neural networks （ANNs）, genetic algorithms （GAs）, sequential quadratic programming （SQP） and hybrid approach based on GA-SQP. The mathematical model for HIV infection of CD4＋ T-cells is represented with the help of initial value problems （IVPs） based on the system of ordinary differential equations （ODEs）. The ANN model for the system is constructed by exploiting its strength of universal approximation. An objective function is developed for the system through unsupervised error using ANNs in the mean square sense. Training with weights of ANNs is carried out with GAs for effective global search supported with SQP for efficient local search. The proposed scheme is evaluated on a number of scenarios for the HIV infection model by taking the different levels for infected cells, natural substitution rates of uninfected cells, and virus particles. Comparisons of the approximate solutions are made with results of Adams numerical solver to establish the correctness of the proposed scheme. Accuracy and convergence of the approach are validated through the results of statistical analysis based on the sufficient large number of independent runs.

Design of Multi-Valued Logic Circuit Using Carbon Nano Tube Field Transistors

The design of a three-input logic circuit using carbon nanotube field effect transistors(CNTFETs)is *** logic must be an exact replacement for dual logic since it performs straightforwardly in digital devices,which is why this design is so popular,and it also reduces chip area,both of which are examples of circuit *** proposed module we have investigated is a triple-logic-based one,based on advanced technology CNTFETs and an emphasis on minimizing delay times at various values,as well as comparisons of the design working with various load *** the proposed design with the existing design,the delay times was reduced from 66.32 to 16.41 ps,i.e.,a 75.26%***,the power dissipation was not optimized,and increased by 1.44%compared to the existing *** number of transistors was also reduced,and the product of power and delay(P∗D)achieved a value of 0.0498053 *** improvement at 1 V was also achieved.A load capacitance(fF)was measured at different values,and the average delay measured for different values of capacitance had a maximum of 83.60 ps and a minimum of 22.54 ps,with a range of 61.06 *** power dissipations ranged from a minimum of 3.38μW to a maximum of 6.49μ*** on these results,the use of this CNTFET half-adder design in multiple Boolean circuits will be a useful addition to circuit design.
